Looked like tables for a nice meetup spot towards the back, but we chose to sit at the smaller tables along a bench up front. We dropped in for a little sweet treat after a nice dinner, and I'm glad we did. The attendant was friendly and very generous with the scoops of ice cream my kids ordered. She and the other gentleman made quick work of our dopio espressos. I tried the pistachio and raspberry cake, and it was delicious. Not too sweet, a bit rich for me. The food is consistently good, which is why I keep coming back. They're almost always busy, so I definitely recommend putting your name on the waitlist as soon as possible because the wait can get pretty long. My biggest complaint, though, is the service. Unfortunately, it's been an issue pretty much every time I've visited. The servers often seem a little disengaged, forget things we ask for, and take a long time to bring out food or other items. During my most recent visit, the table next to us had their food brought out before we had even placed our order, even though we had been seated first. It honestly felt like our server had forgotten about us completely. We shouldn't have to keep trying to get someone's attention just to place an order or get the things we need. I understand that restaurants get busy, but there's a difference between being busy and making your customers feel overlooked. It's frustrating because the food is genuinely so good, and the service doesn't match the quality of the experience. Overall, I still love this place and will probably keep coming back because the food is that good! I just really wish the service were more attentive, organized, and welcoming. With better service, this place would be even harder to beat.

The pastries looked so fresh and delicious it was hard to choose just one. I went with a Pan O Chocolat, a chocolate filled croissant and iced latte. The prices are typical for a coffee and pastry. The croissant was so flaky and mouth watering. I ate very slowly enjoying each bite. The iced latte was good as well. I sat right by the espresso machine and enjoyed watching the baristas making coffees. I saw one come out with a perfect heart on top. The establishment began as an ice cream parlor selling handmade gelato but has since expanded to include pastries, desserts, espresso, cappuccinos, & lattes. The shop embodies the old-world charm of Sicily, and everything is authentically produced in small batches from high-quality local ingredients. The first gelato flavor that founder Angelo Brocato first produced & sold was Torroncino - a vanilla-based gelato with cinnamon & ground almonds. It's still served in their shop today. Locals love their handmade gelato, Italian ices, & desserts - as do I. My favs are the cannoli and signature Italian pastries. I'm also a big fan of the Spumoni, which is served in slices (as it should be). Sadly, Angelo Brocato III passed on July 22nd at the age of 85. His burial was private but the locals gathered for a big celebration to honor his life and the joy he brought to them over the years.
