We were seen almost immediately by one of the owners who was extremely polite and she seemed quite knowledgable. She introduced us to Mike, the service manager I believe. He assured us the job would be done well at a reasonable price and we made an appointment. This morning we brought the car over and they did the work. Perfect fix, reasonable price, and the waiting room was comfortable and had good coffee! As my late Dad used to say, "look for a clean shop, that's a sign someone cares about the work they do". Everything about our experience at V&J Auto Body reinforced that, I hope I never have to use their services again but I know where I am going if I do. I cannot say it more emphatically, they are highly recommended. Jim

Do not go here. After they failed to properly inspect my car following an accident, they became…read morehostile when I questioned them. I paid approximately $9,000 for body work on a car worth about $14,000, and they kept the vehicle for a month while repeatedly failing to return my calls about its status. When I finally received the car back, it immediately had multiple warning lights, including a low-coolant warning. I called them as soon as I got the car back and was told that they had filled all of the fluids. The car later stopped running completely, and I had to have it towed back to their shop. Instead of investigating why the car stopped running shortly after being in their possession for a month, they told me, "You need to get this car out of here," and claimed the problem was unrelated to the accident, even though I had specifically told them that there was liquid all over the ground when the car was hit. They claim to be a full-service body shop, yet they did not even write or provide a repair order documenting what they supposedly determined was wrong with the car or why they believed it was unrelated to the accident. Apparently, this completely separate problem just mysteriously happened at the exact same time. Even more concerning, after the car was towed back, the fluid warning lights that had been illuminated were mysteriously no longer showing. This came after the owner had already told me that he "just wanted to get paid" and did not want the car there, despite receiving a cashier's check for the full bill approximately one week after the vehicle first arrived because I offered to source the used part that he supposedly could not get for a month (and charged me for a new part). I was also told that I would receive a check for my trouble, but when I later mentioned it, they denied ever saying that and accused me of making it up. When I questioned the condition of the car, that they knew would be coming back, and told me I could have it sent in, and then told me "get it out there" upon prompt pick up and questioning why they talk to people the way they do, an absolute animal of a man I had never spoken to before called me rude, told me he knows me and then told me that he knew where I lived. Whether that statement was intended to intimidate me or simply creep me out, congratulations you're as unprofessional, angry, and classless as they come, I guess threatening women is easier than doing your job and standing behind your work. No customer should pay thousands of dollars, receive a car that is not in working condition, and then be made to feel unsafe for asking questions and expecting the vehicle to be properly checked. The car will now have to be properly diagnosed and fixed by another shop. I highly doubt had we went through the insurance company that this would have been the case.

So here's the update....(it took a while to find Five Star Auto Body and their licensing, legal…read morebusiness name so on and so forth because they have multiple names, addresses, just lots of smoking mirrors) after filing a complaint with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in early June of 2024. I was notified 6/27/24 that an investigation was to commence into the unfair business practices of this establishment in 12 weeks. Upon being notified as such Mr. Misino took the opportunity to file a mechanics lein, forward me a copy of such with a dead line (less than the 12 weeks mind you) of when the "Pro-Se Auction" would take place 7/3/24 should the debt not be cleared up. For those if you like myself that have never been through this and don't know what a Pro-Se Auction is....well that where in this case Mr. Misino auctions the car to himself and he would be the only one in attendance at this "public auction". You get the drift now how swindling the public out of their property 101 goes. I will attach all pics of documents. Make a long story short here's the time line 1) Mr. Misino demanded approx $12k cash or else. Amount got to this point by avoidance and his constant making himself unavailable on business days. Adding in the filing fees of the mechanics lein he never filed amongst other junk fees. 2) DMV investigators contacted us both and set up appointments for interviews first with myself. Mr. Misino attempted to circumvent the rules and reached out to the investigator ahead of time and was reprimanded for such as well was told not to sell such property or retrieve it back or else. 3) Investigators met with and collected their documents and evidence, reviewed the car. 4) Findings were as follows Out of nearly $12,000.00 I was being extorted out of by Mr. Misino he was already paid by my insurance company without authorization $2,941.46 out of $5,655.02. He was allowed to keep this money plus an additional $2,400.00 cash from me in person with the investigators present for a botched job consisting of a 3 color vehicle with a ton of over spray everywhere. Am I happy with what the DMV did to be honest with you yes and no. They stopped this creep from getting away with swindling $16,000.00 out of me and or my car. I did not have the funds to strip and repaint this car and due to its condition it was sold for less than half of the market value at the time which was $16k and it was sold for $6,000.00.
