So here's the update....(it took a while to find Five Star Auto Body and their licensing, legal business name so on and so forth because they have multiple names, addresses, just lots of smoking mirrors) after filing a complaint with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in early June of 2024. I was notified 6/27/24 that an investigation was to commence into the unfair business practices of this establishment in 12 weeks. Upon being notified as such Mr. Misino took the opportunity to file a mechanics lein, forward me a copy of such with a dead line (less than the 12 weeks mind you) of when the "Pro-Se Auction" would take place 7/3/24 should the debt not be cleared up. For those if you like myself that have never been through this and don't know what a Pro-Se Auction is....well that where in this case Mr. Misino auctions the car to himself and he would be the only one in attendance at this "public auction". You get the drift now how swindling the public out of their property 101 goes. I will attach all pics of documents. Make a long story short here's the time line 1) Mr. Misino demanded approx $12k cash or else. Amount got to this point by avoidance and his constant making himself unavailable on business days. Adding in the filing fees of the mechanics lein he never filed amongst other junk fees. 2) DMV investigators contacted us both and set up appointments for interviews first with myself. Mr. Misino attempted to circumvent the rules and reached out to the investigator ahead of time and was reprimanded for such as well was told not to sell such property or retrieve it back or else. 3) Investigators met with and collected their documents and evidence, reviewed the car. 4) Findings were as follows Out of nearly $12,000.00 I was being extorted out of by Mr. Misino he was already paid by my insurance company without authorization $2,941.46 out of $5,655.02. He was allowed to keep this money plus an additional $2,400.00 cash from me in person with the investigators present for a botched job consisting of a 3 color vehicle with a ton of over spray everywhere. Am I happy with what the DMV did to be honest with you yes and no. They stopped this creep from getting away with swindling $16,000.00 out of me and or my car. I did not have the funds to strip and repaint this car and due to its condition it was sold for less than half of the market value at the time which was $16k and it was sold for $6,000.00. read more

A couple of weeks back I came back to a parking lot to see that my challenger had been gouged on the side. Naturally I was dismayed. I brought my car to the dealer I got it at (Security Dodge) who sent me over to Five Star Auto. When I got there I spoke to John who walked me through everything and told me that it would take about five days to complete the repair. Fast forward a couple of days later. I go to drop the car off after scheduling a rental car and arranging everything. When I arrive, John tells me that it will not done in five days, it will be done in TWO. AWESOME. Friday rolls around and I am running late, I call and let John know. He stayed past closing time to ensure I received my vehicle. And the work was perfect. Same coat of paint, no dent, nothing. Nobody who saw the gouge earlier could even tell where it was. To sum up, I could not have had a better experience. John is an honest guy who does good work. read more

Brahim is a con artist. Upcharged me 120% on a part that I found online (before and after) for a fraction of the cost but believed him right away because I had been there before. Why would he lie?!?! Should've trusted my instincts when he wanted cash only. He gains your confidence just long enough to get his hands on your money. read more

I would highly recommend this auto body shop! I was in a really bad car accident last month, and my car was towed to Five Star. John was such a gentleman, and was very helpful when I came back to collect my things from my car. He also held onto my keys for me until I was able to come back to pick them up. Went to the shop a few times to have some work done and everything was okay until I brought my BMW there. Water pump job was done without me even giving them permission to do it and it cost me $400. The job wasn't even done correctly!! I was driving to get onto the highway and my coolant light turned on. Coolant was LOW and was not even BLED properly. Horrible job read more

I recently had two occasions to use Five Star Auto Body. First was a relatively minor dent which required a few days to repair and paint. Brahim did a superb job on the work, for which I paid out of pocket. Then, I was involved in a much more serious collision (all the other guy's fault!). I picked up my car yesterday and was truly amazed at how great my car looked. Brahim and his crew are not only extremely skilled at body work, but he goes beyond the call of duty. There were improvements that weren't even specified by the insurance adjuster! The work really exceeded my expectations about what was even possible in getting my seven-year-old car back to like-new status (where it was repaired.) After being surprised by a couple of negative reviews here, I felt it necessary to post: I brought my 3-series BMW to Brahim earlier this year after I had been side-swiped by a delivery van -- major cosmetic damage to the front quarter panel and doors. Brahim did a beautiful job on the car -- I also had him buff out the rest of the car and clean up a few other dings, and it looks like new. Great job at a very reasonable price.
