I was able to leave my car with them for more than a week while they were inspecting my car and trying to figure out what was the issue. I went to another car place first that my dad has trusted in the past and told me nothing was wrong with the car and it was just the car battery. The next day, my car died just as it had before I brought it to the other auto body shop. They were going to charge me again to look at it even though they had the car for more than 2 days and basically told me it was nothing. Luckily, Joe and David, were able to take a look at my car and fully complete an electrical analysis on the vehicle. They not only found the issue, but quickly were able to price out a part for me and call me immediately with a fix. They gave me a ton of options and wanted to make sure I was happy with my service and the condition of the vehicle before they continued. Once I gave the "ok" they had my car fixed within 24 hours and even explained in full what the issue was and walked me through the signs if I see something like that again. I highly recommend, because even though I called a lot more than I should have, they never seemed annoyed or wanted to just get me off the phone. Instead, I was left without a car for 5 weeks. Eventually, she let it slip that the owner of the car dealership owned the auto body repair shop. This place is crooked and I would not trust their estimates, either in terms of money or how long the repairs will take. Also, my car now has a vile smell, despite me saying several times I did not want it to be polished. Every time I step into my car I now get a bad headache. It's the icing on top of the cake.

So here's the update....(it took a while to find Five Star Auto Body and their licensing, legal…read morebusiness name so on and so forth because they have multiple names, addresses, just lots of smoking mirrors) after filing a complaint with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in early June of 2024. I was notified 6/27/24 that an investigation was to commence into the unfair business practices of this establishment in 12 weeks. Upon being notified as such Mr. Misino took the opportunity to file a mechanics lein, forward me a copy of such with a dead line (less than the 12 weeks mind you) of when the "Pro-Se Auction" would take place 7/3/24 should the debt not be cleared up. For those if you like myself that have never been through this and don't know what a Pro-Se Auction is....well that where in this case Mr. Misino auctions the car to himself and he would be the only one in attendance at this "public auction". You get the drift now how swindling the public out of their property 101 goes. I will attach all pics of documents. Make a long story short here's the time line 1) Mr. Misino demanded approx $12k cash or else. Amount got to this point by avoidance and his constant making himself unavailable on business days. Adding in the filing fees of the mechanics lein he never filed amongst other junk fees. 2) DMV investigators contacted us both and set up appointments for interviews first with myself. Mr. Misino attempted to circumvent the rules and reached out to the investigator ahead of time and was reprimanded for such as well was told not to sell such property or retrieve it back or else. 3) Investigators met with and collected their documents and evidence, reviewed the car. 4) Findings were as follows Out of nearly $12,000.00 I was being extorted out of by Mr. Misino he was already paid by my insurance company without authorization $2,941.46 out of $5,655.02. He was allowed to keep this money plus an additional $2,400.00 cash from me in person with the investigators present for a botched job consisting of a 3 color vehicle with a ton of over spray everywhere. Am I happy with what the DMV did to be honest with you yes and no. They stopped this creep from getting away with swindling $16,000.00 out of me and or my car. I did not have the funds to strip and repaint this car and due to its condition it was sold for less than half of the market value at the time which was $16k and it was sold for $6,000.00.
