Called them as the closest tire repair to dentist. They sent out road service truck, changed the tire to temp and followed them to shop to repair original tire! Tech was friendly and delightful. RUDE horrible and they try to yankee tax you or rip you off whatever you want to call it! If your a female they will Try to treat you like your stupid and charge you 4 times over what you actually need! I stopped in to this place to ask them about putting break fluid in my car. The two guys said my breaks looked fine nothing wet or anything and pads were good. The two guys were very polite and put some brake fluid in for me. They suggested I come back in and have them check for any leaks at 3 PM just in case. I waited 4 hours in town to bring it back so they could put it up in the air and check for leaks. Next thing I know my car is in the air and my wheels were all off?? When I asked what was going on they said they were doing a break inspection and the guy was writing up my estimate... This was another hour and half sitting in the waiting room with my car tore down! I went to the window and asked the guy what he was estimating I only asked to check for any leaks not tear my car down. He handed me a paper with $860.37 in brake repair! For break pads and calipers I didn't need. I have a 2023 auto...? I said I want my car now I've been here all day. The lady behind the counter says let me cash you out. I told the money lady I didn't ask for a Brake inspection what was she charging me for? She said " it's $34 for your break inspection" that took two hrs! they were supposed to check for a leak! That's it! About 5 min worth of work. The women behind the counter gets all pissed off and goes out to the shop. She returns and throws my keys at me and says HERE YA GO! The mechanic at that point was thoroughly embarrassed. I said I'll pay the Mechanic For his work the $34 -35 dollars and she yelled at me saying "you said you weren't paying"! I told her nope what I said is i didn't order a break inspection! I paid the mechanic just because he was just doing what she put down on the sheet. This was before I knew he had tore all my important papers out of my glove box and had stuff all over i couldn't elven find my registration. Looking for my lug keys that I didn't give him permission to touch. I should file a formal complaint agains that women throwing my keys at me as that's assault. She needs anger management classes! All because she got caught trying to rip me off! And NO they didn't work on my breaks nor will they ever after that fiasco. Amazingly she treated the man who was at the counter when I left with a very friendly voice. Horrible and traumatizing experience. read more

Paid $25 to have a flat tire patched. Was told everything was fixed and tire was flat again 2 days later. They either lied to me or don't know what they're doing and both of those options mean you shouldn't give this place business. read more

Quality spot located just off 40th and the freeway in Yakima. I needed a set of winter tires on fairly short order, and these guys were able to get what I needed and get the tires put on in very quick fashion! These guys really easy to work with over the phone, or able to get something from out of town and delivered within 24 hours. They called me when the tires were in, and were able to get me in right away to get them put on the car. They were super professional, and made the experience about as painless as it could've been. The physical layout of the place is very nice as well. I've got plenty of tires to browse through, lots of space to hang out while you're waiting, and a good amount of coffee. The only thing that could be improved upon, is having some snacks available while you wait, but it's definitely not a huge priority. They will also store your tires for you, for $50 a year - a Nice option as I probably wouldn't let you store your tires in my garage for less than five dollars per month! All in all, we were really happy with our experience. The tires are a little more expensive than elsewhere, but Was well worth the price difference for the customer service. This is definitely our go to spot from now on! read more

I got a flat tire on my truck in a remote area about 45 minutes away. With some help and ride from some local fellas, we headed towards Yakima (the closest tire service area) and I called four different shops on the way. Joel's was the only place that offered to help and said "we will get you take care of". That's all I needed to hear. The other shops were already telling me I'd need a new tire or it couldn't be patched without even looking at it! I'm not sure what these other reviews are about but looks like things have changed there since two years ago, or whenever those "bad reviews" were left. Thank you again!!!! read more

I can only speak of my own experiences with Joel's Tire. So far, it has been a good experience for my issues with tires. Reading the past two reviews made me a bit leary of buying tires and having these put on my 2006 Mustang GT; however, they did a great job of ordering acceptable tires and putting them on my Mustang. Austin and Bill are the two names that I remember and a lady helped me order the tires. The was affordable for me and she told me that these were a good tire for over the mountain driving (to go to Seattle, etc.), better than the higher performance tires. This is the third experience I have had with ordering and placing tires on my vehicles. I appreciate their service and will be coming back to Joel's Tire if I have more tire needs. I think it helps to know what your expectations are and relay to them. Of course, having a Mustang GT helps because they admire Mustangs and I am certain they want to give a good impression for the Mustang. Me too! read more

customer service..failed. 3 hrs for alignment and to have a lug nut stud replaced. Major lack of communication. No 'sorry this took so long'. No 'sorry we damaged your back brakes' when we put the lug nut stud on. Made a family member late for work. Had to go back less than an hour later because they damaged something with the brakes. If it was going to take so long to get the part; I'd said 'forget it'. BUT they failed to let me know whats going on. read more

Joels in the best tire place in town! The selection of tires is solid - they have both new and used tires which can help you get decent tires with your budget. The same goes for rims, floor mats, and other accessories. They can get basically any brand of tires, except Toyo. I use joels primarily for switching out snow tires and summer tires. Storage of your tires is now $50 per year, which is still pretty fair. It used to be free, but they had someone break in and steal a bunch of tires - jumping up insurance costs. I figure $1/tire/month is about right. If you purchased your tires here, they will change them out for free IF you have them on rims. If not, it's $70.34 (after tax) for a car and a little more for a light truck. For me, it made sense to buy some rims and put my snow tires on. I always call in ahead to see how crazy it is. If you show up at 2pm on the first Saturday after it snowed, good luck! This weekend they got my in/out in about 45 minutes, which wasn't too bad. There is a waiting area fine - not overly comfortable, but there are magazines, a 32" TV, and free WiFi. They had everything I need! For kiddos, they have some toys that they can play with while they are here! For solid service at a reasonable price, look no further! They'll take care of you at joels! read more

I've been a loyal customer here for almost ten years, and most recently I went to get my tires changed. I was quoted a price by an employee, and after the work was done the total was double. When inquiring about getting the price I was quoted, they said the employee was mistaken and would not give me the quoted price, as if it was my mistake. They said there was nothing that they could do, even though they could easily just charge me for the price I was quoted. Very frustrating and deceitful. They lost a loyal customer, and I will not be getting service from or recommending them anymore. read more

We were just in to put air in our tires-should be an easy thing. However, the guy who "helped" us first walked away from us and then proceeded to take air out of our tires. Never again. !! Have gone to Joel's ever since they opened on 40th. Always got my tires there. Got a nail in my truck tire, so hey I'll go to Joel's. Big mistake. ! I'm a woman and blonde and they treated me as a stupid one. Tire was worn . They said against the law to remove it because of the worn tire on the inside. Nail was on the outer part. Another guy comes in and says she needs all new tires. Guys u only raised the truck on one side with a jack. Not on the ramps. You saw all the tires worn?? Really? Took it to dealership today. Common wear and tear, no need for tires right away, they took out nail and quoted price for new tires in the future. 600.00 cheaper than Joels.... I am not stupid, I am a smart, intelligent woman and I checked the tread bars on the tires before I went in.Didnt think I knew about them huh??? No more. Your guys should be ashamed of themselves!!! This place is awful do not go here. When I first ordered tires and rims it took me five times before they actually ordered them. Then the wheels proceeded not to fit and they won't take them back. No customer service at all the store manager Erik was short with me and proceeded to argue with me every step of the way. This shop does not do good work! read more

Took my '05 Pacifica in to get an alignment done (at the Selah location) and was informed that I needed new tire rods before an alignment could be done. A week later, I drop it off to get this done and picked it up (from Brian Harris) only to find out that the alignment was the same as before. Fed up at the point, I then take it to Les Schwab only to find out that the inner tire rods were not replaced therefore the alignment (which I paid for) could not have been done when Joel's Tire said it was. I'm extremely disappointed as you might imagine so I hope you take my advice and stay away from the Selah location. read more

I was driving through town meeting up with an old friend when my low tire pressure light came on. My friend said to stop by Joel's Tires, they should be able to look at it. Without hesitation the front desk checked my tire pressure and all were 5psi low. He filled them up, light eventually went out after a minute and I drove home safe 3 hours later. The manager is very rude and unprofessional. He sold my son tires that did not fit the car. Before he even came home he called and was told to "bring the car back tomorrow - we are closing". When he brought the car back he was told by the manager he would have to sell the tires as used so there would be a return amount owed. Then, after the manager (Eric) got more and more angry he said "we aren't taking the tires back at all". He does not keep his word and doesn't back up his work or product. Some customer service is warranted at Joels Tires on N. 40th. Will never go back and am telling everyone I know that this is a place to avoid. Doesn't deserve even one star. read more
