Just moved here from California and was doubtful I would find a nail salon that could hold a candle to my previous one.. so glad I came to Joe's Nails. Jenny goes above and beyond to make sure her customers are happy and did an amazing job on my nails. Tried SNS for the first time and wasn't disappointed. She also threw in a free Keratin treatment and head/neck massage. Then had a great pedicure by Holly. They take their time and are meticulous. Bonus is they're open on Sundays. Tried this nail salon for the first time last week and won't be back. Polish was applied sloppy and nails trimmed and filed were not even. My group was not offered a beverage as advertised (and we watched the next group get served). As soon as their next appointment walked in, it felt like we were thrown to the side and they rushed to finish ours. Worst part; they cut someone in my party's foot and when we told them that, there was not even an apology offered. read more

Have y'all heard about Shellac or Gelish yet? It's amazing. It's a gel polish that doesn't damage your nails, but gives you a perfect manicure for at least 2 weeks. I've gotten french manicures 3 times now and they've each lasted a month- you literally have to go back in because your nails are growing too long, not because it chipped. How crazy is that? It's a more expensive than a regular french manicure, but hello... so worth it because it's PERFECT for weeks. So, I've gotten Shellac at two other salons, and have been pretty pleased with it. When my friend and fellow Yelper, Emily C, mentioned to me that she'd tried it. We finished work the other day and wanted to celebrate- we finished this big project we'd been working on for over a year! Emily mentioned that we needed to make appointments. Now, I have been to many an Austin nail salon, and never bother making appointments unless it's a really fancy place, because it doesn't get you helped any faster. She told me that they honor their appointments, and they're so right. We got there and were helped immediately. I saw them honor other people's appointments over walk ins while I was there as well, which I really appreciate. They weren't rude to the walk-ins, but just told them that they had an appointment and they'd get to them right afterwards. Emily and I both got our Gelish french manicures done by 2 sisters that are in their early 20s. I'm not sure of their names, but they were professional and had great customer service, especially the younger sister. She's the expert on Gelish. I will definitely request her when I go back. There's an extra charge for french, and I tipped 20% because I was so pleased, but I walked out of there $41 later knowing I'll have perfect nails for a month, which is worth it for me. They gave me a frequent purchaser card before I left, where you get a stamp every time you go, and after 9 visits, you get a free eyebrow wax, or the $8 equivalent off your nails, which is what I'll use it for. I kept raving about the place, so my sister wanted to go check it out. I am going out of town on vacation in a few days, so went back with her to get a pedicure. Emily told me to get the Raw Earth pedicure, and that for her, they set a timer and gave her a foot/leg massage for 30 minutes. I was ready for that! My sister wasn't quite as impressed the day of her manicure- the younger sister was training someone else to do Gelish, but she texted me the next day and said she was really pleased, and that after she washed her hands a few times, it looked perfect. My Raw Earth pedicure was also great. $41 with tip, and though they didn't set a 30 minute timer like they did for Emily, it was the most relaxing, longest lasting pedicure I'd ever had, in a good way. My toes look awesome and ready for my beach vacation! I definitely am keeping my frequent customer card in my wallet. Given that my manicures last a month, it will take me longer to fill it up, but I'm definitely going back to Joe's, and will get $8 off just for going back. Pretty sweet! read more

After a bad experience I was MIA from Joes nails for quite a few months. After hopping nail salons I couldn't yet find one that met my high standards like Joes nails. So I decided to give another chance! I came in and Jenny the owner herself did my nails and was constantly making sure I liked what she was doing. She apologized many time about my last experience and was so sad I hadn't been in for a long time. My nails turned out perfect and almost 2 weeks later they still look amazing! I went in today for a pedicure and boy did I miss those! The milk pedicure is my absolute favorite and they really take the time to make sure to remove all the calloused areas! Jenny is a great owner and really cares about her customers and makes sure you like everything! No other place has better services or an owner and staff like Joes nails! read more

Sadly I cannot write a good review anymore. They have had my business for 8 months, with visits every 2-3 weeks, and each time was an experience, sometimes great, sometimes very mixed. I did gelish nails (gel nails) and pedicures. Pedicures were done by a mix of people. Some did them great, some did them very poorly. But they usually were relaxing. I have short legs. About half of the chairs let me move ALL the way forward comfortably, the others do not. My nails. The owner's sister started out doing my nails. We worked HARD together to do my nails properly. Ie, DO NOT FILE THEM AT AN ANGLE. Each time I still had to stress this. Some time in Feb I met someone else who seemed to know how to do a proper rounded square, and I was able to just relax during my manicure, instead of periodically having to take the clippers myself to get my nails shaped properly. Then I was told she was no longer working there. So I tried another person. He truly was the FIRST PERSON to apply the gel in thin layers so it stayed on longer than a week (I never had the opportunity for the owner (Jenny) or other more experienced members of her family (like Bobby) to work on my nails--when I specifically asked for her, she said she had to stay available in case something came up with other customers!) So I requested him. THEN I got a call that he no longer worked there, but the other person was back (???) She again directed me back to her sister, I specifically said I did NOT like how she did my nails, and was told that since her sister spoke English I would be able to tell her what to do. I've been trying that politely (and less politely) for a while. I'd go back for the pedicures, but unfortunately I think I have to go elsewhere for my manicures. Too much work on my part to get them right--I'd do them myself if I wanted that much effort. read more

I went in for a basic mani/pedi. They do not have a combined special. You pay $25 for the pedicure and $12 for the manicure, for a total of $37. That is $2 more than all the other places in the area. When I called, I was told I would get a 10% discount for being a new customer. Since I saw the good reviews, I decided to check the place out. I did not wait long for being a walk-in. I sat in the massage chair and pulled out my Kindle to relax and read while getting my nails done. Of course I got a dysfunctional massage chair. Boo. I know these things are over used so I never really hold it against a salon. My first issue was that I had to tell her not to cut down the sides of my toenails and to just cut straight across. The last time a nail tech did that my toes hurt for weeks! She asked if I wanted my toe nails trimmed and I said yes, but she barely trimmed anything off. I had to ask her to trim more, but she still didn't get them to the length I wanted. It seemed like this pedicure took forever. I'm not one for rushing, but for a basic pedicure it took a long time. Then another nail tech came to do my nails while I was sitting in the pedicure chair. I don't know how long I would have been there if they weren't double teaming me. I guess I was so ensconced in my book that I didn't realize until I got home that 3 of my nails on the left hand were filed uneven. I mean really noticeably uneven. Maybe because the nail tech was working around and across me and at weird angles. My nail polish also has bubbles, so they don't look great. I was offered the little stamp card, where you can earn a free eyebrow wax or $8 gift card for coming 10 times. However, I don't think I will be coming back to this nail salon to take advantage. read more

Whenever I have work in round rock I love coming to this nail salon. Owner is super nice and they've always done a stellar job with manicures & pedicures. I'm used to Austin prices, so I feel like this place is such a deal! Today they had fresh fruit and it was amazing. Update: Just tired the new pedicure product at Joe Nails: the nature herbal pedicure. It is absolutely a great experience. i would highly recommend it. Besides, the owner Jenny recently renovated the salon and it looks ten time better than before. I don't often write reviews on Yelp, but I figure I have to share my experience after my visit this Monday. I went to Joe's Nails for both pedicure and manicure around 6:40 pm this Monday. Although it was close to their closing time, Jason, the technician whom I am always with, did not rush me at all. He did not shorten the process. I did not leave their store until 8:10 pm. I felt so bad, but Jenny, the owner, kept telling me not to worry. I was very impressed with the way how they treated their customers. My husband and I moved to Cat Hollow in '05 and I did not find this place until a couple of years ago after reading the great reviews from Yelp. I wish I had found this place earlier. Their services have been consistent with great quality. Besides Jason, I have had other technicians to do my nails and pedicure. They are all very good. The owner Jenny is such a sweet lady. She really cares each of her clients and always makes me feel comfortable and happy. I highly recommend Joe's Nails! read more

I was greeted warmly at the door by An. He asked me if I would like anything to drink. Jenny escorted me to my chair and introduced me to Annie, my nail tech. She put a warm wrap around my neck which was a very nice touch. Annie was very skilled and gentle with my pedicure. The facility was nice and clean and I am very picky being a dental hygienist. Jenny explained to me how they clean everything since this was my first time here. They even give you the nail file, pumice stone, buffer, and cuticle stick they use on you to take home with you! Went in on a Sunday and was seated right away. I went with the gel nails and they turned out really nice. I hope it lasts two or three weeks! The only small complaint I have is that I like my nails with more of a square shape not round and the girl filed them round. I didn't tell her I wanted them square but she also never asked. It's not a big deal, next time I'll just ask her to give them more of a square shape. I went in with a gift certificate for a deluxe manicure and raw earth pedicure but I wanted to upgrade to get the gel. The girl who helped me was awesome because she just viewed the gift certificate as cash basically and she deducted the cost for the gel manicure and then what was left over is the price of a regular pedicure. I'm pretty sure most places would never do that. I'll definitely recommend this place to other people. :) read more

This salon is clean and the equipment is always in good repair. That may sound funny...but it means a lot when it comes to nail salons! I usually get pedicures here, but their manicures are nice also. There is a discount for teens...and I usually bring my daughter with me. The techs are super nice and friendly. I highly recommend Joe's Nails. They take walk-ins and appointments...so you can do impulse pedicures if you are super busy but end up with an hour + free time. read more

I have been to Joes Nails twice now.... On each occasion i have been amazed by the service and the people working there. They are all one big family, seriously. The mother and father are absolutely adorable and the daughter Jenny, basically runs the place. She is polite and always accomodating. Each time i went for a pedicure...i was amazed by how detail oriented they were. They never rush you out of the location which, to me, is the most important factor. Each time i went they spent nearly an hour on my feet. They offered me water, did an amazing job on my toes and rubbed my legs for an extended period of time. Oh dear GOD go get a pedicure here if you really want to relax! I went in this morning early (I work graveyards) and everyone was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 930am. They got me in right away without an appointment and I asked for a gel polish manicure and a pedicure with regular old polish. "No problem!" they said. They have a ton of pedicure spa chairs (I want one of these to watch TV in at home...) and as soon as I sat down there were three people fluttering around me making sure I was comfortable, that I had a bottle of water, that I had a warm gel pack on my shoulders, that the massage chair was going and that the water my feet were soaking in was perfect temperature. I was a little overwhelmed there for a second, but then the actual pedicure started and I was instantly in la-la land, totally relaxed. Honestly, she must have done like 17 things to my feet and calves in the time I was in that chair (about an hour or a little over I think, I wasn't concerned about time). It was GLORIOUS. All I know is I was relaxed after a long night at work and there were scrubs and lotions and hot rocks and towels involved. Good enough for me! While I was sitting there having my feet/legs pampered, a gentleman came over to the chair and wrapped my fingertips to get the crappy Shellac off of my nails from the previous salon (Ugh. Terrible. The stuff didn't even stay on my nails a whole week before it started peeling off). Once all that mess was off, a lovely 20-something lady with beautiful fingernails that I am totally jealous of started my manicure: finger soak, cuticle maintenance which I badly needed (told ya the last place sucked), filing...all the regular manicure-y stuff. I was looking forward to trying the Gelish gel polish they use in the salon. The pretty young lady did an impeccable job of polishing my nails and they look amazing! She's very meticulous and detail-oriented and I can't wait to see her next time. I would recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a good manicure or pedicure. The whole staff/family is awesome and easy to understand. I'll make the 15 minute drive to Round Rock any day for service like that. read more

I have been looking for a nail salon to make it my regular since moving into the area. After reading the reviews thought I would try this salon over the others in the area. I booked an appointment for 2pm as I had my babies with someone and was hoping I would be in and out in an hour. When I walked in at 1.55 they were extremely busy and I was asked to sign in and sit down. After 15 mins I was asked to go to one of the pedicure seats and my feet were soaking in cold water until they started working on me at 2.40! My pedicure was ok, very relaxing and my toe nails looked fine. The gel french manicure however I wasn't too impressed with I'm afraid....it looks like I did it at home myself! I will definitely return but will probably stick to one colour on nails in the future! I will continue to try other salons in the area how ever. read more

Previously had reasonable pedicures however today was not good! went in with 3 friends my pedicure was express. I did not receive the massage ,foot gel or lavender lotion. My pedicure was 25 minutes quicker than my friends for same service. I was told that the technician probably mixed the scrub and lotion together and some paint nails quicker than others!! the timer actually went off as the second coat of polish was being applied. When i mentioned it to Jenny {twice) was not at all bothered that i was unhappy with the service. Would never go back here as service has gone bad!!! read more

I came here on a whim to get the $30 Gel Manicure while waiting for a later appointment. I came in around 3:30pm and there was only one other person being helped. While I chose my color, they sat me in front of their TV which barely worked. The feed kept going in and out and I soon tuned it out. They were playing a piano soundtrack, and I recognized a few popular tracks like Yiruma's "River Flows in You", so that was soothing. My manicurist was Holly, and she was nice enough. She pulled a bit of my skin and I started to bleed, but didn't notice until she kept wiping my nail and looking at it. I asked for disinfectant and she was very hesitant for some reason. It took coaxing for her to go get it and in the end she said something about it stopping and I didn't need it anymore, so that was strange. As for the quality of my manicure, the coats of polish were even and although my nails were cut a bit too short for my liking, it was still fine. Lastly, the only addition you get to the actual manicuring of your nails is a (literally) thirty-second massage on each arm. It was more like making sure the lotion got into your arm than a massage, and they used Jergen's lotion. At the end, the owner gave me a 10% off future service card and a Frequent Buyer punch card that would give me a free eyebrow wax, which I would never use because I only get them threaded. It was a fine experience, but I've payed the same amount for much more and, while I don't live around here, I wouldn't come back to try this place unless pressed for time and it was the only one available. read more
