Just moved to Austin and was in search of a new wax place. I tried a place in The Domain and was not happy with the results or the staff working there. I did some research and decided to try Clean Slate after reading so many positive reviews . I have been booking with Karen for the past few months and am always satisfied with her service. Not only is Karen sweet and easy to talk to, but she is amazing at what she does and efficient every time. I will continue to come here and see Karen and so suggest you do the same! Thank you for being awesome, Karen!!! read more

Clean Slate Waxing Lounge - Skin Care Near Me - Austin, Texas

Have been coming here (not consistently) for 3 years. Place is always clean, every one is so nice and professional, I never have a problem getting an online appt when I need it. I have done waxing, massage, hydrafacials , and even teeth whitening when they had it. I even get monthly emails with their specials of the month which have pretty great prices. It's far for me which is why I'm Not consistent but it is worth the drive when I can make it. read more

I had a walk-in appointment with Sadie today! She's new to the facility. She was super sweet and did my eyebrows perfectly. Will definitely be back. read more

Well I am clearly not going to take a photo during my wax but I have been going here for years and I love them! They also have gifts for that person you don't know what to get something for. read more

Karen is the best! I got my brows waxed and laminated and she made them 100% symmetrical and perfect. The vibe is so welcoming and calm. I'll be a regular now! read more

Clean Slate is where you wanna be! The customer service, quality of care, and ambience is amazing. I received a Brazilian wax from Dessiny, and she made me feel right at home. She was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. Book your appointment asap. read more

I had the best underarm waxing experience with Robin. It was literally the cleanest wax I've ever had--not a single hair was left behind. The entire staff was incredibly kind and made the whole process comfortable. Highly recommend! read more

Best waxing salon I've ever been to. They are patient, kind, and cater each waxing to the customer.

I highly recommend a massage by Shana Best! I get a massage after a stressful time at work and always leave refreshed and relaxed! Will definitely be back! read more

I had my brows laminated & waxed today by Jocelyn, and she did such a great job! She's very gentle when it comes to waxing and takes her time. I let the salon take before/after photos as a reference point for others looking to get their brows laminated & waxed...they are very good about posting on their Instgram account, which is where I initially went looking for other previous examples of clients who received the same services. I am very hesitant about letting someone wax my brows without seeing previous work, as I've had a bad experience in the past at another salon. I'd highly recommend coming here! P.S. If the owner sees this message-I'd love it if you guys started offering Henna as a tint option since it lasts longer than a traditional tint. read more

This is the second time I've ventured out to find a new brow waxing place since moving here. I usually get my brows done when I'm back home in CA, but I needed a quick opening and somewhere closer than downtown. I booked a brow & lip wax and was seen by Jessica. The session went by quickly with little left to critic after. My brows looked cleaned and the natural shape was exactly what I wanted. I suppose the only thing I would say is I probably wasn't used to their wax as my skin was pretty itchy afterwards, but eventually went away. The store itself is spacious and smelled like bath bombs when you walk in. Everyone was friendly and I was in and out in no time. The only thing I didn't like is they require that they keep your credit card on file for future bookings and they do charge it if you don't come or cancel less than than 24 hours in advance. However, they wouldn't charge it without letting you know first and I understand where they're coming from. read more

USED to really like this place, then they changed secretaries. My first experiences with Clean Slate were fantastic! Nicole is a very talented and gifted aesthetician. Courtney, however, is not. I have to echo a previous comment here, the quality of your service TOTALLY depends on who your appointment is with. Courtney did my lash lift ONCE and my lashes were so frizzy and painful it was shocking. (Unfortunately she's ALWAYS the only one available) I've put up with it for the explicit purpose of being able to possibly book with the very talented and lovely Nicole, however, but no more. The new Secretary has proven to be unprofessional and takes simple things personally (despite not offering me the customer water or drinks when I check in like she does for other clients when I'm there). Maybe this new Secretary only caters to WHITE clients. (10/07/19) I had an appointment with Nicole for my usual lash lift and brow wax. I arrive for appointment on-time and the Secretary tells me I'm unable to have my appoint because Nicole is sick. This isn't a big deal to me, people get sick. But I believe it is embarrassingly unprofessional to not give prior notice. Wasted a lot of time and I would have liked the opportunity to chance to schedule with another shop before my event (but to due to the last minute cancellation there was no time left). And to make it WORSE the Secretary claimed they left a voicemail but when I looked on my phone there was none! I even called my carrier to make sure. Really awkward that the Secretary insists on professionalism despite this blatant lie. Just today (12/18/19) I got a voicemail about the secretary's feelings being hurt. I work a very high-powered job and sometimes I have to take another call. That's precisely what happened today. If I got upset every time a call dropped I wouldn't have ANY clients, employees or friends, lmao. The ONLY reason I had to call in the first place is because Clean slate has an Incredibly glitchy online booking system. I initially called trying to change a previous appointment to one that I saw was still available online but kept not letting me book. Secretary said that was not possible despite it still appearing available online. How am I supposed to know all the special policies? Aesthetician Nicole is so talented that I've tolerated these flaws but honestly No More. I'm taking my patronage elsewhere. I don't have time for that kind of shoddy treatment. And I'm guessing, fellow Yelper, neither do you! read more

I only go here for last minute emergencies like an unplanned event comes up, mostly bc the wax they use is not sensitive skin friendly. Also it's a 50/50 chance you'll get someone who cares what you look like when you leave, and they use rubbing alcohol as pre treatment and straight tea tree oil as post treatment. Yesterday I made a same day appointment thinking traffic wouldn't be as bad since it was Friday, but traffic was bad so I called to let them know I would be late. Then was charged 25% to reschedule. I'm now calling a day in advance (22.5 hours in advance) to cancel, and they are charging me 50% for it. I understand if I do this every week but I only use this place a total of six times in the last two years of living across the street. This kind of hassle isn't worth it for "emergencies. " read more

My massage therapist was very good, although I don't understand why a scalp massage has to be a $25 add-on when I booked a full body massage. That's head-to-toe in my opinion, and I didn't request aromatherapy or any other additional services that cost extra $ for the salon. This is the first massage place I've been to where they charge extra for scalp massage, which is typically my favorite part of the session. I could have paid extra for it, but just couldn't bring myself to do it when I can get it anywhere else as part of the package. read more

I got an eye lash lift/ tint and a brow lamination, tint and wax. Everything is great except I specifically told her I did not want my eyebrows to be black... (I'm bright blonde) and they are 100% black. Like jet black. Praying it fades in a few days. I even washed them with dawn dish soap and it didn't help fade them at all. Not super happy about it. Like enough to not go back. read more

I love this place and the staff! I drive out of my way to come here. I've gotten a Brazilian about 3 times, Alana just did my Brazilian and tush and I'm SO happy. She was sweet, gentle, and so thorough. She's my new girl! read more

I love this place! It's calm and inviting from the moment you walk in! Everyone on staff I've met here has been really wonderful! One thing I really appreciate is how easy it is to book online and get seen immediately! One time I booked an appointment as I was about to drive there! I've mostly had waxing done here and they were super knowledgeable and helpful. I've mostly seen Kourtney and I swear it doesn't even hurt to get a Brazilian! She's quick, easy, professional, and non-judgmental. They have great monthly specials too! read more

After doing several extended bikini waxes I decided to go for the gusto and give the Brazilian wax a try! Marilyn made me feel very comfortable throughout the process! She was very quick, efficient, knowledgeable as well as friendly! My experience was practically painless! I love the results and would highly recommend this place! read more

Most amazing eyebrow and lash experience! Also, had amazing Hydra-Facial experience and results. I had my eyebrows laminated, waxed and tinted - the results are outstanding - I have never had brows that look this good. I wake up feeling like they are already done. They are so much fuller, styled & shaped. My lashes look so much fuller, thicker and the lift results - wow just wow! I have had my lashes tinted for years but never lifted until now - amazing and so worth it. Don't have to curl & apply mascara everyday now. Highly recommend both the brow lamination and the eyelash lift! I also got a Restorative HydraFacial here too. Again, impressed - my skin is so hydrated, plumper and younger looking - not to mention brighter and smooth. Highly recommend their HydraFacials too. They take COVID very seriously - extremely clean, face masks and shields - I felt very safe having them work on my face. Can't say enough good stuff about my results & experience here. Highly recommend it all! read more

Clean Slate Waxing Lounge - Eyebrow lamination, tint, waxing + lash lift and tint - Skin Care Near Me - Austin, Texas

Went in for a Brow + Brazilian wax and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing service and results. Getting a bikini wax is never "fun" but Lillian made it as pleasant and painless as possible. In the past I have had some major post waxing irritation and swelling when techs are too rough or the wax is too hot. One day post wax and I have no bumps, pain, or swelling. My search for a new waxing salon is now over and I've already booked my next services. read more

Ive been searching for a waxing lounge since moving to Austin and I think I found my regular! Jessica was so nice and patient and fast but paid a lot of attention to detail. She did a great job on my brazilian and didn't make me feel uncomfortable. She also gave me a lot of information on hydrofacials and the benefits! Super excited for my facial appointment! read more

I had a great experience at Clean Slate Waxing Lounge! Blake Rust Micro bladed my eyebrows and the are absolutely beautiful! She is truly a artist. My eyebrows had spots missing and area's that were thin. She filled them in and I really can't believe how natural they look. The studio is darling and spotless. I am going back for a hydro facial I can't wait to have one! Don't judge me on my selfie I am horrible at taking them!!! read more

This place is incredible! The salon is very elegant, smells wonderful, and most importantly it is extremely clean! I have seen Marilyn twice for a brow, lip, and Brazillian wax and she is fantastic! I've had my brow and lip waxed regularly for as long as I can remember. Marilyn does both of these waxings very quickly and as painless as possible. She did my first ever Brazillian and made me feel very comfortable. She's also extremely knowledgeable about what she's doing and can answer any and all questions that you have about any waxing process. She talked to me the entire time she did my Brazillian and totally took my mind off of the uncomfortableness. And, I can say as someone who has a low pain tolerance, it really doesn't hurt as bad as you might think. And the second time is much better! I now make regular appointments with Marilyn for all three waxings. I cannot recommend her enough! read more

First time and makayla did an amazing job on my brows! Fresh tint and wax. I think I've found my new brow girl. Thanks again read more

So I was having a really difficult time scheduling same day appointments at another waxing salon and decided to Yelp a different place to get my eyebrows done before my birthday on Wednesday. I was able to schedule a same day appointment for when I got off work with of the estheticians. I was 2-3 minutes late and they still accommodated me for my appointment time. The esthetician I was originally scheduled to be with was stuck out of town and the salon had another esthetician come in (who lives an hour away!!!) to cover for her so there would be no canceled appointments. WOW, I am so grateful they did that so I could still get my eyebrows waxed. Kourtney was amazing and thorough with my eyebrows. She took her time and I really love my eyebrows! She put tea tree oil on it after to reduce redness (I usually experience redness after waxing) and there was no redness at all after my appointment. :D Very happy with my experience at Clean Slate Waxing Lounge - it will definitely be my go to place now for all my waxing needs. read more

I had a lovely appointment with Lacey, she made the whole experience. I expected the Brazilian to be painful, but was pleasantly surprised with how gentle Lacey was. She also recommended some after-care products. 100% would go here again! read more

This spa is beaitiful. As soon as you walk in it's clean and inviting . I love the decor. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Marilyn gave me a hydrafacial and I looooved it! My skin has never been so hydrated. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. Marilyn also helped me find some amazing products perfect for me to continue for my home care. I 100% would recommend going to check this spa ! So happy with my visit and can't wait to go back! read more

Received a large gift card a few weeks before moving, owner refused to help except to list off all the services they offer. She referenced their policies on gift cards as to why she could not refund (no refunds, no exchange for cash, no transfers of the gift card, etc). But then suggested I give it to someone even though there are no transfers. The salon I am sure gives great services, the owners customer service however should not be supported by using this establishment. read more

Clean Slate Waxing Lounge - Easy to find location- easy parking too! - Skin Care Near Me - Austin, Texas

Went there today for the first time. I found them through Groupon and was able to book an appointment same day! Excellent service, very clean place and very reasonably priced too. They will honor Groupon pricing even if you don't buy through Groupon. Baylee was extremely efficient and fast. This was my best Brazilian waxing experience by far. Quick and relatively painless! Highly recommend! I will be coming back! read more

This was my 3rd wax, and I've gone to a different place each time just to test the waters and see what's out there. I stumbled upon Clean Slate while searching through Groupon. The location was close by, at a great price, and was fresh and clean when I walked in for my appointment. Baylee took care of me and did a better job than both of my two previous estheticians combined. I've pre-booked my next appointment (which is super easy to do online btw), and can't wait to come back! read more

Quickest, least painful wax I've ever had...BIBLE! I've been waxing for a little over a year and was pleasantly that Yelp reviews for Clean Slate held true. Usually a quick wax isn't your best wax...the aesthetician may not hold your skin taught or you may get home and find a few rogue hairs. No worries with Marilyn on the scene. I've already scheduled my next appointment; which means I'll be "breaking up" with my current salon....Sorry, Not Sorry. P.S. I got my teeth whitened and purchased two different lip balms. Yes, I went a little crazy but it was worth it. read more

I've been looking for a new waxing place for awhile. I saw this place had opened up close to where I lived. I loved that I could make an appointment online. When my appointment day arrived, this place was sooooo clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The service itself was quick and the least painful waxing experience I have ever had. I recommend this place to everyone now! read more

First time at Clean Slate and it won't be my last! I've been delaying getting my brows done because of COVID but Clean Slate's robust safety measures reassured my fears. They require customers to sanitize their hands before handing any tools at the desk, fill out a questionnaire regarding their current health status, and disinfect surrounding areas immediately after it has been touched/used such as the card machine. In addition, the staff wore masks at all times. Very impressed by the high regard for cleanliness and cautiousness to protect their customers as well as themselves. As for the quality of my session, I was also impressed. Nicole was my waxer and she was very attentive and precise with the waxing to get the look that you envisioned. Highly pleased with this place! read more

This was going to be my forever waxing place, id just moved to Austin and I was impressed by the aesthetician. Today, I had a 2 PM appointment and I was running late after a school pickup. I called to tell them that I'd be there at 2:10 (and this was my first time being late ever), I was told immediately without hesitation that a 10 minute delay would mean a 25% cancellation fee followed by a reschedule. I was taken aback by the complete lack of empathy and understanding on the other end. I asked to then go ahead and cancel because there was no way I'd go back, and I was told I'd be charged for a cancel too, but since this was my 'first time', I'd be let go without a cancellation charge - so being 10 min late was unacceptable even for a first time, but cancelling was okay? 10/10 to my warm, and competent aesthetician, and 2/10 for their 'un-flexible' (their words) rescheduling policies and the very cold front desk staff. Edited To Add - The owner of Clean Slate Waxing Lounge just called me back to clarify. She was able to rectify the situation and acknowledged that it could've been handled differently. I am updating my rating to reflect Jocelyn's stellar waxing skills (go see her!), and appreciate how communicative and pro-active the owner has been. read more

I found this place through an Instagram post from a local nurse. I figured if she trusted her skin then that is the best endorsement. I tried two treatments at this establishment. One Friday on a whim I decided to try the lash lift and tint which is totally amazing. I have dark lashes which are extremely straight and thick but the technician made it work! A few weeks later I had a platinum hydra facial to help relieve some of stress my skin was showing from life challenges. I liked the quick action when I asked about add on treatments. My skin looks better and feels better. I kinda wish they would do hand massage or arm massage while waiting for other treatments to take effect. I bought a lip treatment and a travel skincare kit. I would go back again for treatments. read more

I simply adore this place! I had been looking for a new waxing place for some time. Looking for a deal as incentive to try somewhere new, I went to GroupOn. Best. Decision. Ever. I found Clean Slate. Clean Slate Waxing checks-off every one of my boxes: - online booking - plethora of availability - QUICK (but quality) service - easily accessible location with parking - easy re-occurring or re-booking for standard services - CLEAN salon For me, personal waxing is just one more item on the long list of women maintenance. So being able to get a QUALITY wax, QUICKLY, is priceless. Another huge plus? Clean Slate Waxing puts an affordable price on popular waxing services. Great place with great services! read more

I have been coming to Clean Slate for about a year and time and time again they have disappointed me/ over charged me for services that I didn't even receive. Every time I have gone in for a wax, I have left very unsatisfied and ended up needing to pluck and finish the job once I got home. I have not left ONCE satisfied with the work that they have done, but I kept going back because I was new to the area and didn't know of a different waxing place to go to. Today was the last straw. I scheduled an appointment for 330pm and while I was on my way, I receive an email saying I've been charged for the services that I haven't even received yet. I call them right away to see what was going on and they told me my scheduled appointment was for 310pm and because I didn't show up I was charged 50% for their services. I explained that I had a confirmation showing my appointment for 330pm and could show them the confirmation as proof, but instead of trying to be helpful and seeing if there was someone else who could see me, THEY REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT MY 330PM APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION AND STILL CHARGED ME THE 50%!!!! The shitty waxing job I can look past, but their lack of customer service and willingness to work with me in finding a solution that keeps them and their customer happy is mind boggling. I absolutely hate this place. Never go here. read more
