I have a literally never had a bad eyebrow experience here. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded since I was 17 years old and have definitely had my fair share of mishaps. Whenever I move to a new area I'm always super nervous to try out a new eyebrow spot (I put this one off for quite a while ) but I've been going here for about a year now and every time, no matter who the technician is, I leave very happy. Second time here. First time they took almost all of my eyebrow off. Left them pencil thin, despite my telling them I wanted to grow them out. Wasn't going to go back but went today bc I was waiting for Sephora to open. Again, let them know I was trying to grow my eyebrows out and just wanted them cleaned up. See image to see how my brows were left. I told her my brows don't fill in like that and she told me to use a pencil. No astringent to soothe after. You can see how red my brows are. I paid cash. No discount and also refused to give me a receipt. Shady AF to double dip. If you're not claiming the money, at least offer a discount. Just an annoying, unprofessional place all around. I'm just lucky to have a great experience each time I go. I'll say that the only reason this business does not get 5 star is because they could work on their overall cleanliness. Sanghia was beyond amazing! She always provides prompt, courteous, professional and friendly service! Beyond that, myself and another customer arrived right after the doors closed and she was locking them to leave. I had driven an hour and a half to get my brows threaded because I don't trust anyone else and she not only let the other customer who arrived just before me, but myself as well Come in and gave us excellent service after a very long day and already on her way out the door! She also helped me without asking to have a staining on my brows which was absolutely beautiful and did such a professional job. It took 10 years off my face, and I'm very grateful for her perceptivity and style! They do a fantastic job with threading. Very courteous, and the place is impeccably clean. The ladies do a great job! My only suggestion would be to dust off excess hair after threading, and do a quick massage with the lotion/gel as is common in most threading places. read more

I hate to leave this review because I have been going here for a while. Just be careful with who threads your eyebrows. I usually go on the weekends but decided to pop in during the week on my birthday. I left with super thin eyebrows and a third of my right eyebrow gone. This is a huge problem area for me and I've been trying to grow it out for years. My brows look terrible and will take a long time to recover. read more

I am big on customer service so if stars are lacking it was probably due to bad service. Maya's has no issue with service. I was greeted at the door with a smile! The place was neat and clean and she even wiped and sanitized the chair before I sat down. Some places treat you differently when you say you have a Groupon but I did not have tHat issue here. I explained that I was growing my brows out and was hesitant on threading and the lady told me "don't worry I will take care of you" she meant exactly that! She was gentle and explained each step she was taking. She let me look in the mirror and informed of I wanted her to go thinner she would. She applied aloe Vera gel and gave me a temple massage...freaking amazing! I'm coming BACK! And they are currently running a special on lashes so who knows, I get another service! read more

I'm writing this review to forewarn other yelpers. Before I went to this establishment, I of course read the reviews here and exactly knew who Not to go to. They don't take appointments, so walk ins only. I went in on a Wednesday evening. The place was empty and the lady told me to check in on the iPad. As soon as you input your information it tells you who's doing your eyebrows. Low and behold I see the name I didn't want to go to.... My gut feeling was to just walk out. (Note to self- never go against your gut feelings). I told her just clean up my eyebrows since they were already thin. So don't make it thinner. It probably took her 1 minute per eyebrow and was done. She was so fast that either she's a master at her craft or she just doesn't care to put in thought in correctly shaping the eyebrows... It was the latter. I even said to her, "you're done already?" Yup, as suspected I walked out of there with super thin eyebrows. Unless you can make an appointment with someone specific, I suggest you avoid this person at all cost. Her name is Sima. read more

I used to come here all the time to get my eyebrows threaded until I move downtown. Well, that changed, today I came to get them threaded because I thought they were reliable. I paid and got into my car then looked closer, they the never looked so bad before. I'm usually not the type of person to go back in after that but she also missed some hairs that were obvious. A older lady did my eyebrows and also made them super thin when I originally had thicker eyebrows. I just needed a little clean up honestly cause I get typically get them done every 2-3 weeks. She literally took chunks out of my eyebrows as well so they're extremely uneven. Very disappointed and upset with how I look and how they handled the situation. read more

Just tried this place for the first time. First, the lady was very quick and not much attention is given to shape and evenness. My eyebrows look a mess. Plus I was "scalped" on one part of my left brow. She took too much hair off to where there is essentially a small bald spot. The entire area wasn't cleaned up and after looking in the mirror i had to ask her to clean up the other hairs left behind. The first time I came, Sima did a great job so I decided to come back. The second time, she rushed though my eyebrows after I told her clean up only, which means to take excess hair off. I have very thick eyebrows and she rushed through it and took way too much off. On average it takes 15-20 min for someone to properly do my eyebrows and make sure the shape is not messed with but she did it under 5 and now I'm left with thinned out eyebrows that'll take forever to grow. I just wish she didn't rush and understood what "clean up" means. read more

Horrible experience! Do not come to this place! I used to like to come here when Mila was working here! Now she left and they hired another person who is extremely rude and does not want to do what you ask for! The person who was before me was unhappy as well! This new person is rude and she will messed up your eyebrows. I was asking her to fix my eyebrows and she said I don't want to be rude but I don't know if you realize that Mila and I are different person and we both work different! I've only been here once so I will write an update as I come more. I'm new to the area and need to get my eyebrows threaded vs. waxed because I used retin-a. I was looking for a place to go and found Maya's. The shop is clean and welcoming and I had a good experience. The person threading me was Mila I believe and she did a great job! She listened to what I was looking for and delivered clean, well aligned brows that needed love after about a month from my last appointment from where I used to live. Visited this threading salon last week - worst experience ever. I have been threading my eyebrows and upperlip for more than a decade now and this experience was easily the worst. 1. The stylist was in a huge hurry and wanted to spend the LEAST amount of time helping(?) a customer. Due diligence was NOT on her list! 2. The threading style was AGGRESSIVE and painful. She even pulled out bits of my skin around my eyebrows. I had tiny bloody spots around both my eyebrows. She goes "oh you weren't holding it properly" - really? You couldn't tell me during the session? 3. Asymmetrical eyebrows- my left eyebrow and right eyebrow don't match after the threading session!!! 4. Upperlip threading - so much hair left. I had to walk back into the salon after my session for a second round smh. NOT GOING BACK HERE EVER AGAIN. I would rather drive 20 miles out of my way and pay twice as much instead of going here again. read more
