This is an awesome company with great service and fair pricing. I have used them before, but I called this morning after waking up to the sound nobody wants to hear - their septic alarm. The woman that answered the phone was super nice and helpful. They were booked solid and said they would try to move things around and get me in before closing today. Not only did they do that, but they also had someone at my house and the issue resolved within two hours. The tech was also such a nice guy with so much knowledge. I have never used this company but I was driving on RR12 in Dripping Springs today towards Wimberley and one of their vehicles (RAM van) was driving behind me so dangerously. I was going the speed limit and 5 above and the JMA driver was so close to me and accelerating recklessly and swerved suddenly to the left a couple times (I think to see if they could pass me on RR12, which is a one lane street and would be so dangerous) and I was honestly afraid the entire time I was in front of this driver. I had two toddlers in the car and am 9 months pregnant and was just having such a bad feeling that I have not experienced on the road in a very, very long time, maybe ever. I was referred to JMA by one of the builders I work with. They unfortunately do not service my part of Austin. However, what impressed me is James spent 15 minutes on the phone educating me on the system that I had, told me I had installed the wrong battery which could have caused the septic panel to be destroyed. He helped me understand that the original installer from 18 years ago had failed to install a riser on the solids tank (and so therefore it had not been pumped in 18 years, yikes. Thanks for helping me understand what I need to do, now I just need to find a septic company that can handle a Hoot system and works in Austin. read more

We've always had good service from JMA, but while at a Sunday brunch, a neighbor called and told us our septic alarm was going off. We had the sound turned off, called JMA and left a message, telling them what we thought the problem to be -- the recent, very heavy rains. It wasn't long before our Sunday call was returned and we were put on a list for Monday service. Plus, we were told, it didn't sound like a heavy rain problem. We have gone round and round with septic companies. They are always surly, and grumbly and act like they are doing you a favor for coming out. We have had some septic issues recently. I asked on nextdoor who my neighbors recommended. JMA was 1 of 3 companies and I am so glad I called them first. I talked to Sheila in the office about my issues, what a contract would cover, etc. I went ahead and scheduled to have them come out. Because we have a high risk family member during covid times, we were able to be completely contact fee. Wes called ahead of time, so we could unlock gates and get dogs in. He was dressed in a company shirt, with a company vehicle and looked profession. He was super friendly, and helpful. Sometimes having septic issues can be super anxiety inducing - especially if you've ever had a clog or backup. I am so happy to have JMA in my corner. I feel like I finally have a company I can trust, and that won't be inconvenienced when I need something! read more

I want to thank James and the entire staff at JMA Wastewater Services. I called, on a Monday (a very busy day), with a slight emergency about the possibility of our septic tank being full or clogged. They said they were extremely busy with calls and could not say wether or not they could get to me that day. About an hour later, James shows up. James was extremely helpful and identified the problem right away, a clog in the line to the septic tank. James was able to clear the clog in no time. Additionally he noted that our tank needed to be pumped out very, very soon. He also provided some great tips on care and maintenance, and there is a lot more information on their website blog. Without hesitation, James located one of the septic tank covers that was buried and began to dig and clear out the dirt, exposing the tank cover. James did this so I would avoid an extra fee from the pumping company, which charges extra to dig and clear dirt away from tank covers. He also provided a cost and time saving tip about how I could repair the broken pipe from the house to the septic tank I was in the middle of repairing. James provided exceptional customer service, is extremely knowledgeable and went what I feel is above and beyond. Because of some bad advice from another company years ago, we had long neglected our septic system. Noticed some standing water over the tanks on Dec 23. James came out the day after Christmas to diagnose the problem. His crew came out the next day to complete ALL the repairs he said we needed and had the system pumped as well. He came back the next morning to wrap up the repair work with a new pump. I love it when a business keeps their promises on when they will be there, what they will do and how much it is going to cost. Along the way he gave me a great education. I am so Happy to use JMA, my septic pump broke yesterday and they came out within an hour to repair it. The owner personally came to my home the following day with a extra pump he had that was only 2 years old. So instead of charging me full price for a new one like most people would do, he took it upon himself to help me out of a bad spot!! Great people I wouldn't recommend anyone else!! I've used JMA for years - usually for routine maintenance. Yesterday the compressor for my septic went bad. First thing this morning a very nice repair guy came and was able to rebuild it vs. replacing which saved me considerable money. How would I have known that it could be rebuilt vs. replaced? I needed a ton of help locating my septic tanks (which had been buried for years under some ill-advised landscaping). The folks at JMA gave me instructions as to how to locate the tanks, and even came out to help plan how to service the tanks and better situate the lids (with risers) for the next service date. They are professional, courteous, and keep their promises and appointments. James (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable and patient, and Lindsey in the office was very helpful.
