We were basically the only people in the restaurant and saw a bunch of staff just hanging around so I would have expected the service to be excellent, but it was just standard and nothing above and beyond. The food and service sort of matched....standard but not exceptional.

If you're looking for a spot that delivers on both flavor and atmosphere, Blue Rooster Irish Pub &…read moreGrill absolutely nailed it on our recent visit. We came in with a group and decided to go all in--and I'm so glad we did because every single dish showed up and showed out. Let's start with the cheeseburger and fries--this wasn't your average bar burger. It was thick, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The kind of burger where every bite is flavorful and satisfying. And those fries? Golden, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside... basically impossible to stop eating. The shepherd's pie (full order) was pure comfort in a dish. Rich, savory meat layered with vegetables and topped with creamy mashed potatoes that were baked to a beautiful golden finish. It had that homemade, hearty feel that just hits different--especially when you're sharing with good company. Now the fish and chips... WOW. Light, crispy batter that didn't overpower the fish, which was flaky and tender inside. Not greasy, not heavy--just perfectly fried and paired with fries that held their crunch. Exactly what you want from a proper Irish pub. And let's talk about the wings--because we tried two kinds, including the Jameson wings, and they were next-level. The sauce had that smooth, slightly sweet, slightly bold whiskey flavor that made them stand out in the best way. Sticky, flavorful, and cooked just right. The other wings held their own too--great crisp, great sauce coverage, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, one thing that always stands out to me is how clean and well-kept the place is. That matters--and Blue Rooster Irish Pub & Grill consistently delivers. It makes the whole experience feel comfortable, welcoming, and just easy to enjoy. Great food, great atmosphere, and a place that clearly takes pride in what they do.

An absolute lovely addition to the Cypress area. And very much needed in the plaza for which it's…read morelocated as there is zero late night entertainment there. Only restaurants that close at around 10PM. Blue Rooster to the rescue! I would easily say this is one of the best Irish Pubs in all of Cypress. The fish and chips are good here. Perhaps not the best, but they are tasty. The fries are absolutely delicious and that's about all I can say about the food as I've not yet tried anything else. I've been eyeing the wings but the fish and chips have won on my debate on what to order for the last and only 3 times I was there. They have a full bar that's kept clean, 2 pool tables and 2 dart boards. The setup there is comfortable and easy to relax and mingle with other patrons. Oh and let me not forget to mention that it's completely Smoke Free. (Yeaaaahhhh!!!) They have Karaoke I believe on Thursdays and Steak Nights on Wednesday. Ive yet to try the steak night but it's certainly on my to do list ASAP. They do have beer of course but I must mention that they also have some IPA options unlike some of the other nearby pubs that barely carry just one. I have to admire a place that carry craft beer options for the patrons that want more than just the same ole beers they can have at home. Now what I like more about this place which keeps me coming back is the service and the ambience. It has that Cheers type of environment and welcoming feel that makes ya feel a bit homey. I also have to introduce the Cypress area to probably one of the best bartenders I've seen in all of Cypress and that's Tori. My last visit there she was running that entire bar "Alone". I mean there was zero lag time on getting your refills and it was hopping that night. She was literally everywhere like a super hero taking care of guest and all with a big smile. I was able to get her to freeze a bit to strike a pose and then in a flash she was back at it taking great care of other patrons. Tori is Ms. Marvel behind that bar for sure. Cock a doodle do, and Prosper!

DELICIOUS FRIED CATFISH!…read more I've been eating at Catfish Station since their first location in Cypress. Let's just say it's just as good as my first experience when i fell in love. The catfish breading is phenomenal. Crispy ,well seasoned , definitely worth every penny. Especially when paired with their remoulade sauce! Mmm! The shrimps are really good too and the chicken wings extra crispy with buffalo sauce really hit the spot for me. The fries are perfect! Crispy and not too salty or over seasoned. +I just have to say The cheese grits have Won my heart time and time again You MUST order the grits when you come here! You will not regret it Service is incredible. The ladies that run this place are very kind and knowledgeable with the menu. The restaurant is also clean and they play good music 2005-2014 throwback vibes for sure. I highly suggest you give this spot a try! Thank you so much Catfish Station. Being originally from Mississippi, the "home" of catfish, this place has the best catfish I've had since I've been in Houston. It has a clean flavor which is hard to find and it's fried to perfection. There isn't the leftover, lingering oil or grease. The fries are *chef's kiss* Collectively my family and I had edamame, fries, fried shrimp, fried catfish, oyster poboy, bang bang shrimp, hushpuppies, sushi and coleslaw. There was not one thing we ordered that I would not order again. The amount of food you get for the cost is economical. For all of that food plus three sodas and a beer, our bill was right at $120. Not only is the food great but the service is just as great. It is not heavily staffed but you never feel like you're rushed or overlooked. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait for fresh food. Even with little staff and cook to order food, the wait isn't long at all. You can't go wrong with them! 10 out of 10

I picked up lunch from here recently on the way to the office. I placed an online order (with no…read moreadditional fees!) and the process was quick and smooth. After checking out, it said my food would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I was in the area and arrived within 10 minutes of placing my order. The restaurant is located in a strip center and there is plenty of shared parking. Perfect timing on arrival, because my food was freshly prepared out of the kitchen. The employee behind the counter was warm and friendly, and generously provided condiments and napkins as I took my food to-go. I ordered the 3 piece Fish & Chips (you can specify between 1-3 pieces). Here, they use swai fish and you can specify which type of breading you'd like - Cajun style (cornmeal) or London style (flour) - I went for the flour batter. Included on the side are fries, onion rings, toast, and a single hush puppy. The foam container was stuffed to the brim it couldn't even be shut. Not a bad thing since I know fried food like this needs to breathe in order to not get soggy. By the time I got to my office about 10 minutes later, my food was still piping hot. Among my whole platter of fried food, everything was still crispy as if I was eating it in the restaurant! It was so delicious - the fish fillets were battered well and had a good balance of fish and breading. The fries were seasoned nicely and the hush puppy, while only one, was a nice touch. I would definitely order this again, though would reconsider 3 pieces as I was stuffed and was ready for a nap by the time I finished. JLB has so many offerings I will definitely come back to try more, at any of their locations. I'm interested in the chicken, the burgers, and the sandwiches, and would totally order the fish again - Cajun style next time perhaps.

We opted for outside since the weather that day wasn't bad. Lots of parking but strong smell of tobacco, which was a little nauseating. Opted to split a regular chicken fried steak. A couple of my friends got their cinnamon roll and another dessert but they forgot to bring it to us and it ended up not being anything super wowing. Not a bad place, though! One of the fun touches here is the serving robots that bring food out to the tables. Definitely something different and entertaining to watch! The location itself has a really nice view of the lake with plenty of outdoor seating available. Our server, Chase, was fantastic! She took wonderful care of us throughout our meal, keeping everything running smoothly despite how busy it was. The food overall was enjoyable. We tried the deviled eggs, which were just okay and didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for. However, the Philly eggrolls were delicious! We also ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp, which is an absolute favorite of mine from my usual home location in Memorial. My biggest critique of this location comes down to those three-tiered motorized robot servers. Personally, I'm really not a fan. I feel like they cheapen the dining experience rather than elevate it. I don't quite understand the point when a human server--often just whichever nearby staff member happens to be passing by, rather than your actual server--still has to take the food off the tray and place it on your table. It ends up feeling inconsistent and impersonal. I know AI and tech are here to stay and I embrace it where it fits, but we have to ask ourselves: does this actually enhance the customer experience? In my opinion, it doesn't, and those bots must have cost a pretty penny! It's truly a shame to have stellar, personal service from someone like Chase alongside good food, only for the overall experience to feel just "fair" because of a robot cart delivering dishes. I definitely prefer my home location in Memorial. It's smaller, quieter, much easier to park, and thankfully isn't running robot servers (at least not yet!). While it was a fun outing with a great view, I'll likely stick closer to home for my regular visits.
