The fraying started a while ago and I was procrastinating about replacement, but now it was to a point that it was going to snap at any time, and it was time to replace. I was debating on replacing the lamp rather than spend the money to repair and I decided to repair it. I dropped it off on a Saturday afternoon and woman said it would be ready by Monday. I wasn't expecting it to be replaced so quickly. The cost of the replacement socket--the pull chain couldn't be replaced on its own--was $9.50, reasonable. The labor though was $28, and the total cost was almost $40. While I could have just purchased a new bed lamp for less than that, considering the alternative was having an otherwise good lamp go to landfill. I thought it was worth it price and now my lamp will last many more years. If you have lamp repairs, I would definitely bring it to Carlos Lighting for repair and support this local Mom and Pop business.

I ordered in November with a 500. deposit( more than normal 10% by CA law but they said bc one skylight was special measurements they could bypass that law- idk if that is true or not?). Well, ordered in November, and told 4-6 weeks. In December at the very end figured it was the holidays so gave them a bit of leeway. Not ready yet ok, January got excuses vendor behind bc employees won't come to work due to ICE raids?! That didn't make me feel confident to begin with! Now it is February and called again- same excuses. He says he will call me back and he did once and left a vm( same story- not ready and behind). Rest of the times, I had to call back a week later, bc never heard back! I'm still trying to figure if I am being scammed or what?! It's been like 3 months ( double the time initially stated). So if not coming this week as he said the vendor told him I'm disputing and doing a chargeback on my credit card! ETA: ok after all that was said and done, he did end up coming through today! So I upgraded from 1 star to 3 stars given the delay but did come through. So it took 3 months( from end of Nov 2025). However, the results were very nice. I will update later if any leaks or anything or we are good! So at least he came through 2-20-26.
