I found this company through a home magazine, so I thought it would be good. I ordered for my mom several skylights. I ordered in November with a 500. deposit( more than normal 10% by CA law but they said bc one skylight was special measurements they could bypass that law- idk if that is true or not?). Well, ordered in November, and told 4-6 weeks. In December at the very end figured it was the holidays so gave them a bit of leeway. Not ready yet ok, January got excuses vendor behind bc employees won't come to work due to ICE raids?! That didn't make me feel confident to begin with! Now it is February and called again- same excuses. He says he will call me back and he did once and left a vm( same story- not ready and behind). Rest of the times, I had to call back a week later, bc never heard back! I'm still trying to figure if I am being scammed or what?! It's been like 3 months ( double the time initially stated). So if not coming this week as he said the vendor told him I'm disputing and doing a chargeback on my credit card! ETA: ok after all that was said and done, he did end up coming through today! So I upgraded from 1 star to 3 stars given the delay but did come through. So it took 3 months( from end of Nov 2025). However, the results were very nice. I will update later if any leaks or anything or we are good! So at least he came through 2-20-26. read more

Anthony was very professional and even installed the blinds on my skylights on a Saturday to fit my schedule. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Solar Lighting Express. Anthony is very knowledgeable, professional and kind. He is very responsive. Unlike other contractors he is easy to get a hold of. His team removed my old fixed skylight and put in a new solar skylight, taking care of the permit. I am very pleased with Anthony and his team and highly recommend him without reservation. Thank you Anthony! read more

I'm writing to say that Anthony really stands behind his work. I had a very large skylight installed and a crack showed up on the wall. Several months later, I contacted him and even though the contractor didn't think it was from the installation of the skylight, Anthony fixed it for me. This was so appreciated. read more

I like to provide a positive review for Anthony from Solar Lighting Express. They came to our property in SF on Monday 8/5 to repaired our existing skylight. This is the first time I used Solar Lighting Express. Anthony is easy to get hold of and their pricing is very reasonable. He worked on our repair for approximately 2 hours and he explained to me and my sister of the work he performed on our repair. I will definitely use Solar Lighting Express if I have another more issues with our skylight. They will be the first one I will call! Thank you Anthony! read more

We had a new skylight put in our guest bathroom almost a year ago. Anthony Choi was our representative who sold us the skylight. He arranged for a team to come and do the installation. Initially, the skylight looked great. Then it started raining and we had a major leak coming through a main wall! We contacted Anthony to have it repaired. Obviously, the leak was due to poor installation of the skylight. In 30 yrs, we never had any leaks in the walls until they improperly installed the skylight. They came back, did some retarring on the roof surrounding the skylight. It rained again, and more leaks. They tried a second time and a third time, the leak was never fixed. Every time it rained heavy, more leakage! Anthony didn't want to bother with us anymore, afterall, he already was paid. Bottom line, we had to figure this out on our own. We finally were able to fix the terrible installation and leakage without their help. We don't want anyone to go through what we went through. Do not use them... In response to Anthony Choi's note below, my husband, N. Dellacava, hired you! Yes, we were your customer. read more

Anthony is great-- very responsive and knowledgeable. I had a bad large skylight leak from the recent storms and he was able to order the dome replacement quickly, and the team came and fixed it as soon as it arrived. read more

From start to finish, the process of replacing our old skylight was faster, easier and less expensive than I imagined. Anthony was able to replace it within a few days of my initial call. read more

Anthony forgot to place my order for four months while sitting on my deposit; when it finally arrived he did a sloppy job caulking the connection between the light well and one skylight; he also ripped the screen during installation of the other, tearing it near the corner where it is hard to observe from below without telling me; and he left his garbage on my roof, which subsequently blew down on my neighbor's property over the next few weeks. To top it off, he forgot to order the pole for the larger, higher skylight, and tried to pawn off a used pole that was not designed for this operating mechanism. It's literally a square peg for a round hole; and he never did provide me with the correct pole, telling me I should just deal with the poor fit because "I don't open it very often." read more

With a recent huge storm, we discovered a leak in our skylights. We called around and Anthony was extremely prompt, setting up a time a day later to come and give an estimate. He was very timely, took a look, and gave us a quote for new skylights , which was very reasonable. He took pictures to show us the cracks in our skylights saying they had been patched multiple times previously and were well past their shelf life. We appreciated this as we didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Once we decided to work with Anthony, we put in our order for new skylights (which we were told could take up to 6 weeks to order). To our delight, Anthony was able to locate our skylights in stock a few days later and scheduled the work for the next day. He was able to replace our old skylights quickly and even talked us through what he saw on our roof. As a bonus, he cleared out some leaves and dirt that were blocking our drain for no additional charge. Anthony is super friendly, timely, and responsive - we'd highly recommend giving him a call. read more

Loved how quickly they walked me through the different options for a sun tunnel for a guest bath and sent me a quote for it. After picking up the 160DS solatube, Eva C. at the showroom was very generous to replace an attachment clamp for me that was either missing or misplaced by my contractor. Would definitely recommend Solar Lighting Express for their service and quality. read more

Wow! Not only was the installation a bit tricky due to a high and slanted roof, the install was completed in about 3 hours. Rayid the installer was super professional as well. I definitely recommend them. read more

Maybe if you want to install new solar tubes, then this is a good business to work with. But we wanted a different service they offer: installing a new skylight. We can't recommend them for that - as it seems they didn't want our business I made an appointment on the phone with Anthony, the owner. Told him we wanted a new installation of a skylight. He says he'd come give an estimate the next day. He didn't show or call the next day, so an hour after our scheduled appt time, I called the office. The woman answering the call was nice and apologetic and arranged an alternate time. Anthony shows up, doesn't acknowledge missing the previous appointment, hardly makes eye contact, and doesn't offer to remove shoes or wear booties, etc. We take him upstairs to show him the bathroom where we'd like a skylight. He talks about how well solar tubes work, but I make it clear that I'd like a skylight because of the ventilation it will provide in a bathroom. He walks around our upstairs area and looks in our daughters" rooms. I'm not sure why. Maybe to see if there are places where we could use a solar tube? But it seemed odd he was looking into rooms we weren't asking him about. We go outside to look at the roof line, and he confirms the work can be done. He says he'll have an estimate to us within 3 days. As he leaves, he turns his head back and says something about having missed our previous appointment. I couldn't hear him, because he was walking away from us, but I'd like to think it was an apology. After he leaves, my husband says, "he seems really unenthusiastic about taking this job." And we never heard from Anthony or anyone at his company again. We never got a quote or any kind of follow up. I think my husband was right: this company had no interest in installing a single new skylight. Maybe if you want solar tubes (which are a more efficient installation process), then this is a great company. It strikes me that they can churn through a couple of solar tube installations a day, and that's how they make money as a business. And it does seem that most of their reviews (and they mostly have positive reviews) are for solar tube installations. But I can't recommend them for new skylight installations, based on their perceived indifference about missing an appointment, not a lot of courtesy while in our home, lack of enthusiasm about the job - and no follow-up or estimate sent. read more

What a difference the sun-tubes makes in our home! Great service from Anthony in that we had a link during the rain and Anthony figured it out! It was not the Sun tube but a linking air-vent pipe next to it. Got that fixed with my plumber and no more worries. He went the extra mile to keep us happy, thank you Anthony! read more

I've recently just purchased my 1st solar tube. The lighting is so amazing and I highly recommend Solar Lighting Express for their professionalism, knowledge and expertise. Their customer service is top notch and can't be substituted anywhere else, the staff are highly knowledgeable and will inform you on the pros and cons of solar lighting to see if it's right for you. You can't go wrong, I will definitely do business with them again. read more

Can't believe how much I love my home since my three solar tubes were put in. I've used this company twice now and they are excellent when it comes to the details of where and how many solar tubes to use. My house is so much more comfortable and the solar night light feature is a wonderful addition also. The owner Anthony is very knowledgeable although sometimes a little hard to understand I would recommend him to anyone looking to upgrade the beauty, comfort and value to their home! You cannot buy what they offer at Home Depot or Lowe's don't even try it! Spend the money and get it done right with the pros if you care about the value of your home for resale! read more

Received a quote for a 10" and 14" solatubes for the kitchen and hallway for about $1400. Work was completed within 2 hours of the contractor's arrival. The difference in brightness is amazing. I've received compliments from guests who even thought that the solatubes were lights. Had to make changes to the filters based on aesthetic preference, but was easy with a short drive to San Carlos to pick out the replacement options. Would do business with them again. read more

We installed a solar tube solar power attic fan and it works perfect for this extreme hot weather. The installer was quick and knowledgeable. We'll definitely do business with this company again for any future products. read more

Riyad installed a 10" solar tube with a bathroom vent in my 1950s house, and I couldn't be more pleased with the 2.5 hour installation and final product. The bathroom is a bright, sunny place now, and the vent is up to modern standards. I thought the pricing was very fair. Thanks! read more

We had a couple of 14" solatubes installed early last month in our dining room and are extremely pleased with them. We had a couple of other estimates. One firm seemed okay, but a little hesitant and could not provide a price until the following week. Another firm (Mares and Dow) which sells Velux sun tunnels showed up late and didn't bother calling. We wanted the light wells centered within some decorative beams, however he couldn't guaranteed that and bemoaned the installation location. He suggested putting it off to the side and poo pooed the idea of being centered and said nobody would notice. He also poo pooed solatubes and said the Velux was a better product. Naturally, he never provided an estimate. Anthony came by and provided an on-the-spot price quote and was confident. Apparently their firm had installed thousands of solatubes and his present installer, though relatively new, has also installed a couple of thousand of them. We recommended a couple of 14" solatubes. The installer came in the early afternoon and was finished by 4PM. He had to cut some ceiling support beams, but reinforced them. The job was well done and he cleaned up after himself very nicely. The solatube domes were placed on our flat roof and the installer sealed them with roofing tar. We had some sun filters put in as the light was very bright. Very pleased and would use them again. read more

Riyad is the best regarding advice to help the consumer and he is professional and detail oriented in every aspect of the work--from estimating through installation. The solar light tunnels make the difference between night and day. My master bedroom and dining room we're dark and gloomy and now both rooms are bright and cheerful. I absolutely recommend! read more

Anthony was efficient and responsive in getting us a quote and our home scheduled for 3 solar tubes. Riyad the installer was quick and generally did a good job. However, when we were up in the attic recently for another project, we noticed he left wood trimmings from the holes and insulation around the tubes detached. He didn't clean up his work so we had to clean up the small mess he left. Not a huge deal but definitely was not perfect. read more

We just had a solar powered attic fan installed as well as a whole house fan. I love it! We should have had this work done a long time ago. We love our WHF. If you are looking for more light in your home, Solatube is the best product, bar none. Don't waste your time with anything else. They have the best technology and the best system. I have had them in my previous home and now in the home I currently live in. They really work. Solar Lighting Express is the local installer, and they really know what they are doing. These guys installed 2 solar tube lights (including one in a bath room that included a vent) without even entering the attic. If you are indecisive, go ahead and do it, you won't regret it. read more

We have a single story house. The hallway was generally dark even in the day and the kitchen was dark too because there is only one window there. Right after I heard about these SolaTube things from a friend and talked to the rep, we decided to install one tube in the hallway and another one in the kitchen. Wow, what a differences we experienced! My hallway is bright and my kitchen looks awesome. We can see what is on dinner table now without turning on a light. Wonderful products. I've purchased a solar fan to ventilate the office from the roof when temperature is too high. unfortunately it has been working totally randomly, so it ventilates when it is cold outside (so making it colder inside) and doesn't work when it is hot inside. the company owner came back to try to fix it (after we called him at least 10 times). and now it is even worse. not only i've lost money but on top of that it makes things worse than before. read more

I had 2 sun-tubes installed in my house about a month ago and bringing in natural light into my house rather than spending money on turning on my lights is a no brainer. I was surprised on how well they work and how much natural light is in my house now. Anthony was very easy to work with and very responsive which is important in dealing with a business. I am used to dealing with bad communication and slow responses but dealing with Anthony made the process so fast and easy. Thank you for helping me with improving my house! Anthony is great and super responsive. Called, had the consultation, and the install all done in under two weeks. Highly recommended!

Anthony is a GREAT person to do business with. He is personally invested and passionate about his work. He installed 2 solar tubes in our home several years ago and it's been brilliant (pun intended). Recently, he installed 4 solar tubes in my garage. Now it's like being outdoors in the daylight inside my garage, even with the door closed. There was a little miscommunication that occurred, and Anthony was fully committed to making things right and it has been fully resolved. I would highly recommend Anthony and his products to anyone who needs to bring light into a dark place. read more

I contacted this company to inquire about a SolaTube installation. The email correspondence was not very clear so the owner advised I go into the showroom. Ugh - It should not be this difficult!!!! Will take my business elsewhere. read more

BEWARE!!! DONT BE FOOLED BY HIS NICE GUY DEMEANOR- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Anthony is a nice guy UNTIL there are problems. About two years ago, Anthony installed a large custom skylight in my in laws home. Earlier this year when the rains came after years of drought, the skylight started to leak and made a mess in the living room. We notified Anthony of this problem and that is when his niceness ended. Anthony refused to accept responsibility even though it was he who measured, ordered and installed the skylight. We understand that sometimes mistakes happen. We are only human. But take responsibility for it when it is YOUR mistake and just FIX it! The velux mdf rep came out to assess the problem and even offered to provide a free new skylight so that it could be installed properly but Anthony refused to install it or to refund us the money to hire someone else to install it. We finally found another contractor to install the new skylight and even then Anthony was uncooperative. Our new contractor requested that delivery be on either Tuesday or Wednesday but he never heard back from Anthony confirming the actual delivery day or time. Today the skylight just showed up outside my in laws house with no one there to receive it. Anthony contacted us and was mad that my contractor wasn't on site. When we asked him why he didn't coordinate the delivery with our contractor, Anthony claimed that he did not have his phone number. Well, Anthony had our phone number so why didn't he coordinate with us? Anthony then threatened to just leave the large skylight in the driveway. Again, instead of accepting responsibility for not coordinating the delivery with us, he is blaming us! UNBELIEVABLE! He deserves zero stars. read more

Fast and professional service, highly recommended. Anthony came the same day to provide a quote, and Riyad came the next day to install 2 10" tubes with lighting and vent add-ons. We are in process of home remodeling... our bathroom and hallways are very dark - we knew a skylight would really help but we nixed them due to the costs... I called Anthony in for a quote out of curiosity, he was prompt and very informative but we still felt the tubes were not in the budget. I went into the showroom one day and was pretty impressed, so I decided to take a gamble and get them installed... They were installed the very next Monday - the installer was super courteous, he called to keep us informed as to his progress, he was neat and the job was precise, he was absolutely a joy to work with. Well, I CANNOT express how happy we are with the finished product- The bath is flooded with sunlight all day, the difference is STUNNING!!! Hallway not quite as good due to the second story but still remarkable! I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW WORTH THE EXPENSE IT WAS!
