I found this company through a home magazine, so I thought it would be good. I ordered for my mom several skylights. I ordered in November with a 500. deposit( more than normal 10% by CA law but they said bc one skylight was special measurements they could bypass that law- idk if that is true or not?). Well, ordered in November, and told 4-6 weeks. In December at the very end figured it was the holidays so gave them a bit of leeway. Not ready yet ok, January got excuses vendor behind bc employees won't come to work due to ICE raids?! That didn't make me feel confident to begin with! Now it is February and called again- same excuses. He says he will call me back and he did once and left a vm( same story- not ready and behind). Rest of the times, I had to call back a week later, bc never heard back! I'm still trying to figure if I am being scammed or what?! It's been like 3 months ( double the time initially stated). So if not coming this week as he said the vendor told him I'm disputing and doing a chargeback on my credit card! ETA: ok after all that was said and done, he did end up coming through today! So I upgraded from 1 star to 3 stars given the delay but did come through. So it took 3 months( from end of Nov 2025). However, the results were very nice. I will update later if any leaks or anything or we are good! So at least he came through 2-20-26. read more

We had a new skylight put in our guest bathroom almost a year ago. Anthony Choi was our representative who sold us the skylight. He arranged for a team to come and do the installation. Initially, the skylight looked great. Then it started raining and we had a major leak coming through a main wall! We contacted Anthony to have it repaired. Obviously, the leak was due to poor installation of the skylight. In 30 yrs, we never had any leaks in the walls until they improperly installed the skylight. They came back, did some retarring on the roof surrounding the skylight. It rained again, and more leaks. They tried a second time and a third time, the leak was never fixed. Every time it rained heavy, more leakage! Anthony didn't want to bother with us anymore, afterall, he already was paid. Bottom line, we had to figure this out on our own. We finally were able to fix the terrible installation and leakage without their help. We don't want anyone to go through what we went through. Do not use them... Anthony forgot to place my order for four months while sitting on my deposit; when it finally arrived he did a sloppy job caulking the connection between the light well and one skylight; he also ripped the screen during installation of the other, tearing it near the corner where it is hard to observe from below without telling me; and he left his garbage on my roof, which subsequently blew down on my neighbor's property over the next few weeks. To top it off, he forgot to order the pole for the larger, higher skylight, and tried to pawn off a used pole that was not designed for this operating mechanism. It's literally a square peg for a round hole; and he never did provide me with the correct pole, telling me I should just deal with the poor fit because "I don't open it very often." read more

With a recent huge storm, we discovered a leak in our skylights. We called around and Anthony was extremely prompt, setting up a time a day later to come and give an estimate. He was very timely, took a look, and gave us a quote for new skylights , which was very reasonable. He took pictures to show us the cracks in our skylights saying they had been patched multiple times previously and were well past their shelf life. We appreciated this as we didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Once we decided to work with Anthony, we put in our order for new skylights (which we were told could take up to 6 weeks to order). To our delight, Anthony was able to locate our skylights in stock a few days later and scheduled the work for the next day. He was able to replace our old skylights quickly and even talked us through what he saw on our roof. As a bonus, he cleared out some leaves and dirt that were blocking our drain for no additional charge. Maybe if you want to install new solar tubes, then this is a good business to work with. But we wanted a different service they offer: installing a new skylight. We can't recommend them for that - as it seems they didn't want our business I made an appointment on the phone with Anthony, the owner. Told him we wanted a new installation of a skylight. He says he'd come give an estimate the next day. He didn't show or call the next day, so an hour after our scheduled appt time, I called the office. The woman answering the call was nice and apologetic and arranged an alternate time. Anthony shows up, doesn't acknowledge missing the previous appointment, hardly makes eye contact, and doesn't offer to remove shoes or wear booties, etc. We take him upstairs to show him the bathroom where we'd like a skylight. He talks about how well solar tubes work, but I make it clear that I'd like a skylight because of the ventilation it will provide in a bathroom. He walks around our upstairs area and looks in our daughters" rooms. I'm not sure why. Maybe to see if there are places where we could use a solar tube? But it seemed odd he was looking into rooms we weren't asking him about. We go outside to look at the roof line, and he confirms the work can be done. He says he'll have an estimate to us within 3 days. As he leaves, he turns his head back and says something about having missed our previous appointment. I couldn't hear him, because he was walking away from us, but I'd like to think it was an apology. After he leaves, my husband says, "he seems really unenthusiastic about taking this job." And we never heard from Anthony or anyone at his company again. We never got a quote or any kind of follow up. I think my husband was right: this company had no interest in installing a single new skylight. Maybe if you want solar tubes (which are a more efficient installation process), then this is a great company. It strikes me that they can churn through a couple of solar tube installations a day, and that's how they make money as a business. And it does seem that most of their reviews (and they mostly have positive reviews) are for solar tube installations. But I can't recommend them for new skylight installations, based on their perceived indifference about missing an appointment, not a lot of courtesy while in our home, lack of enthusiasm about the job - and no follow-up or estimate sent. read more

Received a quote for a 10" and 14" solatubes for the kitchen and hallway for about $1400. Work was completed within 2 hours of the contractor's arrival. The difference in brightness is amazing. I've received compliments from guests who even thought that the solatubes were lights. We had a couple of 14" solatubes installed early last month in our dining room and are extremely pleased with them. We had a couple of other estimates. One firm seemed okay, but a little hesitant and could not provide a price until the following week. Another firm (Mares and Dow) which sells Velux sun tunnels showed up late and didn't bother calling. We wanted the light wells centered within some decorative beams, however he couldn't guaranteed that and bemoaned the installation location. He suggested putting it off to the side and poo pooed the idea of being centered and said nobody would notice. He also poo pooed solatubes and said the Velux was a better product. Naturally, he never provided an estimate. Anthony came by and provided an on-the-spot price quote and was confident. Apparently their firm had installed thousands of solatubes and his present installer, though relatively new, has also installed a couple of thousand of them. We recommended a couple of 14" solatubes. The installer came in the early afternoon and was finished by 4PM. He had to cut some ceiling support beams, but reinforced them.The job was well done and he cleaned up after himself very nicely. The solatube domes were placed on our flat roof and the installer sealed them with roofing tar. We had some sun filters put in as the light was very bright. Very pleased and would use them again. read more

However, when we were up in the attic recently for another project, we noticed he left wood trimmings from the holes and insulation around the tubes detached. We have a single story house. The hallway was generally dark even in the day and the kitchen was dark too because there is only one window there. Right after I heard about these SolaTube things from a friend and talked to the rep, we decided to install one tube in the hallway and another one in the kitchen. I've purchased a solar fan to ventilate the office from the roof when temperature is too high. unfortunately it has been working totally randomly, so it ventilates when it is cold outside (so making it colder inside) and doesn't work when it is hot inside. the company owner came back to try to fix it (after we called him at least 10 times). and now it is even worse. not only i've lost money but on top of that it makes things worse than before. read more

BEWARE!!! DONT BE FOOLED BY HIS NICE GUY DEMEANOR- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Anthony is a nice guy UNTIL there are problems. About two years ago, Anthony installed a large custom skylight in my in laws home. Earlier this year when the rains came after years of drought, the skylight started to leak and made a mess in the living room. We notified Anthony of this problem and that is when his niceness ended. Anthony refused to accept responsibility even though it was he who measured, ordered and installed the skylight. We understand that sometimes mistakes happen. We are only human. But take responsibility for it when it is YOUR mistake and just FIX it! The velux mdf rep came out to assess the problem and even offered to provide a free new skylight so that it could be installed properly but Anthony refused to install it or to refund us the money to hire someone else to install it. We finally found another contractor to install the new skylight and even then Anthony was uncooperative. Our new contractor requested that delivery be on either Tuesday or Wednesday but he never heard back from Anthony confirming the actual delivery day or time. Today the skylight just showed up outside my in laws house with no one there to receive it. Anthony contacted us and was mad that my contractor wasn't on site. When we asked him why he didn't coordinate the delivery with our contractor, Anthony claimed that he did not have his phone number. Well, Anthony had our phone number so why didn't he coordinate with us? Anthony then threatened to just leave the large skylight in the driveway. Again, instead of accepting responsibility for not coordinating the delivery with us, he is blaming us! UNBELIEVABLE! He deserves zero stars. read more

We are in process of home remodeling... our bathroom and hallways are very dark - we knew a skylight would really help but we nixed them due to the costs... I called Anthony in for a quote out of curiosity, he was prompt and very informative but we still felt the tubes were not in the budget. I went into the showroom one day and was pretty impressed, so I decided to take a gamble and get them installed... They were installed the very next Monday - the installer was super courteous, he called to keep us informed as to his progress, he was neat and the job was precise, he was absolutely a joy to work with. Well, I CANNOT express how happy we are with the finished product- The bath is flooded with sunlight all day, the difference is STUNNING!!! Hallway not quite as good due to the second story but still remarkable! I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW WORTH THE EXPENSE IT WAS!
