Overall great experience working with Dimitar and Ignacio. It all started with requesting a quote to replace a large window on my house. Given their expertise of working with Pella I chose them over other contractors. Ignacio showed up for the initial measurement and was very professional. They helped pick up the window from the warehouse (it was a large 8' x 8' window) which saved me a lot of hassle. Their quote was slightly higher than others but I still decided to go with them as they appeared to be very good at communication and it was clear they know what they are doing. They finished the job in a day and were extremely efficient and clean. They had to set up scaffolding and all that. My window was wood on wood and I wish they would have offered painting as well which wasn't the case. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the outcome and recommend them to others as well. read more

We needed to coordinate window install with scaffolding and painting, which Abstract Windows knew when we signed the quote and we reemphasized while waiting for the windows to come in. We didn't hear anything until the day before they wanted to install, then had to scramble. They were unclear about payment timelines and amounts, failed to let us know that a mid-project inspection would need to happen, and didn't schedule the inspection until the work was done, resulting in a three-day delay for the other contractors. If they had communicated clearly about timelines and inspections, provided itemized invoices, and kept things moving smoothly, this EASILY could have been a five star job. I used Abstract Windows to do a retrofit replacement from the original 30yr old aluminum windows to new fiberglass windows from Milgard. Alessandro came out and reviewed all windows and happily answered all my questions. For the final measurement Dimitar and Alessandro explained that 2 large windows couldn't be done as retrofit and let me easily remove that from quote since I didn't want new construction right now. Their pricing was very competitive. The windows were ready when the said and they installed 11 windows in 1/2 day. Everything was so professional and now the house is so much quieter that we cannot hear when the delivery truck pulls up for packages. So nice. Windows look great and modern. When we later noticed a subtle streak in the glass of the Milgard windows days after the job had been completed and paid for, Dimitar came back out to carefully check all the new windows again w us and found another subtle one in a different window glass. Milgard window expert reviewed after we filed a claim w Dimitars help and they agreed when they came out the double pane glass had somehow been "flipped" in manufacture (not common but can happen in the way double pane windows are constructed we learned) and Milgard replaced with correctly sealed glass. The windows and sliding door have lifetime warranty so that was also a selling point for us. They all look and work great now. I regret to write that my experiences have been sub-par. I had a number of Milgard windows for the front of my home ordered through Lowes. Dimitar reported for the first round. The windows frames were not even, so I had to deal with Milgard and resolved under warranty - total time spent waiting for order to be complete: 3 months - $12,000.00 worth of windows: My second experience was very bad. I made an additional large Milgard window order for the back of my home, and Dimitar came to measure and instead of being professional and courteous, he was rude and dismissive with my 72 year old mother. I was very disappointed that he conducted himself in a way that made her feel terrible, so I called him to ask why: in turn, he insulted my mother, used profanity and told me that he didn't want my business. Wow, the order was going through Lowes again, and he was simply there to measure and install. He created a very big mess for me, and set me back weeks on my project. In addition to this review, I have filed a formal complaint with Milgard, and Lowes, and am working on my next complaints to the BBC and State of California. Dimitar simply should not be working directly with customers, especially elderly people. With as many local options available, I had no choice but to cancel my order with Lowes and go with another window company, that actually saved me $1000.00! Dimitar may have done me a favor by being rude, but it still does not constitute more than one star. Dimitar and the crew from Abstract Windows did a great job installing three windows and three sliding glass doors in our townhouse. Dimitar came over a few weeks before the job to look at everything and answer our questions. He also came one day during the installation to see how it was going. One of the original doors was wider than it needed to be, so we ordered a smaller door and the team built up a wall on both sides. We have a patio outside this door, and it had to be taken apart for the door installation. Another crew came yesterday to rebuild the patio, and made sure to caulk and add a moisture barrier. The living room window that was replaced was narrow, and a second Dimitar and the crew made sure the top of the window lined up with the top of the door. The kitchen windows needed a scaffold to be reached, and Abstract Windows supplied it. The crew laid down tarps in the house and did a great job cleaning up at the end of the day. Abstract Windows came today to replace a window with a wooden shelf that had start rotting in the shower, and they were amazing! They had come over earlier to take a look and measure the window, and we placed an order in advance with deposit (pricing was very reasonable). So today everything was fully taken care of, all we had to do was wait. They laid down material from the front door to the bathroom to protect our floors, and went to work like the experienced professionals they are. I believe there was some custom work that needed to be done but they did it right there at their truck on site. The entire job took just 2 hours, which was exactly what was estimated. The window looks fabulous and it even had some useful features we didn't know about. Dimitar walked us through step-by-step how to use the window and let us know how much time before we could use the shower. As a bonus, he also gave us a tip on what silicone caulk to use for our bathtub - thanks Dimitar!
