I found Robert on Yelp and he is as amazing as everyone has described! Thank you Robert and thank you Yelp! We have three closet doors that were missing handles and a sliding pocket door that need a handle and lock installed. Robert helped us out a day after I contacted him and even made a trip out first to take a look at the hardware to make sure he can do the job well. Not only did he do what we asked of him, he went above and beyond to patch some parts on our door trim and installed them in a much cleaner fashion. My husband and I are so happy to have found Robert! Robert is a great craftsman who pays attention to detail. We will definitely call him up again when needed! He's the best! read more

This person is an artist. He was able to fix a botched job and masterfully add a new door to our old house. He was able to do it fast and at fair price. He is very busy so you will need to book him in advance but totally worth it. Highly recommended. read more

We found Robert via a recommendation from a neighbor who uses him regularly. The prior owners of our house had used old exterior and buffet/credenza doors as closet doors, which meant they custom made the door frames to match, so it was not an easy "put in a new standard pre-hung door" type job that a general handyman could do. We ended up getting pre-hung doors, and Robert was able to creatively adjust the door frames to make them work and then extra molding to make it look like they were designed to fit. They ended up looking great. We also ended up having him install baseboard in several rooms, which he also did a great job on. He was quick to come provide a quote, and did the work very efficiently once the day came. We will definitely be using Robert and Another Day Another Door again in the future! read more

Robert fixed an old front door that was separating and didn't close properly. He also installed new hinges and a handleset, which was especially challenging because the door had a metal weatherstrip that required modifications to both the door and the hinges. Robert's attention to detail is exceptional - the door operates and looks far better than it ever has before. read more

Robert did an excellent job closing up the gap when our doors were cut for floor installation. A man with experience and a man of his word. On time, efficient, cleaned up and fixed our problem. Coincidentally he recognized the door and was our installer over 30 years ago. Showed us under one hinge our name which the company owner wrote on all door purchase. Serendipity. You can trust this guy! read more

Robert is an expert who knows everything about doors! He fixed two swinging patio doors at our home in Portola Valley. Highly recommend giving him a call for any door needs. Most places will try to tell you to just start over and buy a new door, but Robert takes the time to understand what's going on and advise you on your options. Great value and worth supporting an experienced local carpenter. read more

I'm one of those people where if something isn't straight, a gap isn't symmetrical, or something is rubbing, I lose my mind. If you're like me, you need Robert in your life. He is neat, meticulous, and methodical, everything you want in your door installer. I started out having him do three doors at my house, and after I saw how great his work was, I wanted him to do the rest of the house. We were able to do this because his installation cost is reasonable, and he was able to refer me to a shop that sells high quality doors at reasonable prices. As some others have mentioned, in some cases he is able to reuse the existing door frame, which cuts down on the total cost SIGNIFICANTLY. I cannot believe how cheap slab doors are as compared to prehung doors, hence, "how about we just do the rest of the house?". If you're like me and don't know where to start, here's how the process will go. You call Robert, have him come out for a bid and measurement. You take those measurements to the door salesman he recommends and order your door (have some idea of what style you want). Robert's measurements are perfect, but if the door sales guy has any questions, he talks to Robert all the time and will work with him to make sure the order is right. Doors come in, Robert installs, then you find a painter (or paint yourself). Family Handyman has some great painting tips for doors. I'm a total novice and painted the doors myself with good results. Another quality of life bonus is that doing solid-core doors on the bedrooms has cut down on noise tremendously. It looks and feels like we renovated the house, so of all the work we've done on the house, this had the biggest impact. read more

Robert has hung 5 doors at our home including a fire door and an external dutch door. He also corrected the fit of an old front door and installed additional door hardware. His work is incredibly precise, every door closes without any wiggle room and is perfectly balanced. Robert is easy to work with, responsive, reliable, and does excellent work, we highly recommend him. read more

We wanted a windowed interior door installed in a non-standard sized door frame. We got another quote that was more than three times what Robert was charging because they were planning to redo the door frame too. Robert was able to cut our desired door down to fit the existing frame, and was meticulous about getting the door level and gliding smoothly. So much better than the ghetto sliding cardboard door we used for three months! Robert is friendly and efficient and did a fantastic job. He is responsive to text and arrived on time. He even picked up the door we ordered so we didn't have to do a thing. One of the best home improvement decisions we've made! read more

Another Day Another Door - Still need to paint and remove the plastic, but we love our door so far! - Door Sales/Installation Near Me

Robert is the best!! There is no job that is too big or too complicated for him to work out. The door company screwed up, but he was still able to make things work out to perfection! Our new double door looks great and the locks work so effortlessly. I can't recommend him enough. He was on time, he worked SO hard, and is a perfectionist. I wasted so much time with another installer that turned out to be a total dud. Robert was so much more efficient and much more pleasant & easier to work with. So the lesson...don't waste your time, just call Robert. read more

Robert's awesome! He can fix, install or figure out a solution to even the most complicated door issues! He's reliable, hard working and dedicated to his craft. We're so very grateful to have found him and value his expertise. It all started, when decided to keep the original doors in our home, and just get new hardware. We thought, how hard could that be right....wrong! Let me tell you, without Robert's help, it would have been impossible! First off, only one company made hardware that could go on both our interior and exterior doors. Next, Robert had to drill, chisel and work his magic on each door, which wasn't easy. He even had to dig into his spare door parts stash, to find spring loaded bronze, to match the original on our front door. Now, when we look at our beautiful old doors, we think of Robert and smile! If you want the best, just call him! read more

Fantastic. Robert is the antidote for contractor stress. Our front door had gotten to be a real negative for us. We had had a bad experience with our back door replacement by another company. It never really sealed well and we are very energy-conscious so that is an irritant. All the door places assume that you will replace the full frame etc as well as the door. The reason is not just that that will make them more money. It turns out that almost nobody can hang a door well in an existing frame. When I told the door companies that we were going to just change the door, they were skeptical until I told them that Robert was going to do it. They all seemed to know him and his work and they trusted that he could actually do it. He was patient with a long process. I ended up designing our new door. Even when that was made, a family emergency delayed the installation. It is now up and we are really pleased with it. It positively glides and the seal all around it is perfect. Robert is also a very nice person. It is a pleasure to work with him. We highly recommend him! read more

Another Day Another Door - Not painted yet, but we are happy with the door we designed. - Door Sales/Installation Near Me

Called Robert and he happened to be coming to my area for another job and made time to come by our house and assess multiple issues with our 60-year-old front door. The California drought has caused some shifting and settling of our mid-century home and our door was sticking terribly; the interlocking weatherstripping wasn't working either. It took a TV cop-show-shoulder-shove to open. Replacement had been recommended by one contractor but we're completely wedded to our old, unique, perfect front door. In about an hour and a half, Robert removed the door, shaved areas causing the binding, and replaced portions of weatherstripping causing problems. In order to do the latter, he had to lengthen the door, adding small pieces of wood that can't be seen. They in no way detract from its appearance. He replaced the door, cleaned his workspace and faded into the afternoon, leaving behind a perfectly working door. Yay! Highly recommend. read more

This was our second time using Robert, he hung our provided door and installed my recently restored Schlage Crown hardware. He supplied the interlock, threshold and hinges to our spec. As usual things change as projects continue, he was to come out and finish the job after the floors were done. Well the floors didn't happen on time and we had him come out and complete the job, he made provisions for the floor to be done up to his work. As usual the door closes with a pinky and a very satisfying "Click" Robert charges for his time, but the end product and materials supplied are top shelf. On our last project he only installed 2 of the 4 doors dur to cost constraints and I now wish I had cheaped out on something else. A satisfied customer P.S. Both of our contactors had no idea where to find someone to interlock a door and also said that an interlock was an inferior way to weather strip a door. Stacy read more

We had contacted 2 other contractors to replace our front door before Robert. One declined to do the job and we respected his decision. Another contractor gave us a quote which we thought was a good deal until we found we could purchase the door for almost half his cost. I requested a quote from Robert on Yelp and fortunately he was in the area one Sunday to look at our door. Right from the start, his great personality and expertise was on full display. The 2 other contractors talked about the difficulty of replacing our front door due to structural and cosmetic issues. At times, it felt like they didn't want the job and as stated previously, one declined. But Robert was a breath of fresh air pointing out the complexity of the job but still reassuring me that it could be done. After we had gone to a local door shop to scope out our door, we decided to hire Robert who is an extremely busy man. Luckily, the stars were aligned and we were able to get our door and have it installed in about 1.5 weeks. Even though I ordered the door, he picked it up from the store and was able to install it that same day. We now have a new beautiful front door which was installed perfectly thanks to Robert's attention to detail. If you need door work done, Robert is your guy. read more

Robert is amazing. He was very helpful before we ordered the doors, explaining what to order, answering dumb questions, etc. Then when the doors arrived he was right on time and did a fabulous job including dealing with weird doorframe issues. The doors look beautiful and the job site was very clean and he's just a great guy to deal with. I wish he did more than doors! Thanks Robert! read more

Robert replaced 5 interior doors in my old and not-square house and each door fits perfectly. I'm so happy with my new doors.

I called Robert about my door situation Beware! He has negative attitude and told me he doesnt want to do this ... he doesnt want to do that. He complained about the fact that I live in a condo and he doesnt want to have to carry his stuff into elevator and only does work on houses! He only focused on the negative and I would not give him my business. He sounds like a downer and sounds very un-willing with BAD attitude. read more

Brief interaction and not a pleasant one. Service is obviously not of the highest priority. Spoke to him over the phone in regards to a quote. He began to question the details I gave him, I answered and then explained what I needed. I have the doors, I just need them installed. I wanted to clarify as I wasn't sure if he installed only doors he sold or something of that sort. Then he quickly cut me off and said you are not over the bridge right in a very rude condescending tone. I'm in San Lorenzo, apparently he doesn't work in my area. He could and should have led with that. I was happy to end the conversation there as I knew based on his attitude it wouldn't work anyway. read more

Robert replaced a bifold closet door with a new swing door and did a fantastic job. He's very knowledgeable on everything doors and made the project look easy...which it certainly wouldn't have been if I had to replace the door. We needed to replace our front exterior door, I contacted Robert at Another Day another Door. Robert came to our home for an estimate and gave us great suggestions as to the best options to install our new door. Robert is a gifted door whisperer. Young guy, old world craftsman. He can fix most any residential door problem and has all these old-school tools and parts. He replaced the copper weather striping on our 75 year old vintage entrance door and adjusted it so it hung square again. He adjusted our French patio doors that were swelled due to moisture so they work again. His personality is a bit odd but not a showstopper. If you've got a door problem, he can probably repair it! read more

Robert originally came to my home as I called him to ask about replacing my entry door. He not only answered all of my questions but he wrote down exactly what I needed. At that point I ordered a new door. It took about a month to arrive from the store but I kept Robert informed along the way as he is extremely busy. I am happy to say he came over yesterday to install the door. The size of the door was slightly off but he make some slight adjustments to make it work. He took his time so that it would be perfect. Robert is kind, helpful, informative, knowledgeable and professional. I even saw him breaking down the cardboard box and placing it in my recycle container. His workmanship is excellent. I don't typically write Yelp reviews but I looked on Yelp to see if his company was listed as I knew I had to write this up. I am so pleased that I called Robert at Another Day Another Door. His reviews are excellent. I couldn't be anymore pleased with the outcome. If you need any door work, whether new or with your current door(s), don't hesitate to call Robert. I hired Robert to replace a full Louver door in our pool house and to repair two other doors at our home. When I called he answered promptly. We discussed the job and made an appointment for the following Tuesday at 2:00pm. I got a late break from my office and pulled up to my home at exactly 2:00 pm to find Robert backing his truck into my driveway. Off to a good start, he arrived exactly on time. We walked the job and he quoted me on the spot. We agreed to do the work the following week. One note is that Robert does not supply the new doors, but gave me two business cards of people I could talk to and get a new door in a couple of days. The first reference was excellent, extremely fairly priced (actually really competitive), and ordered my a new primed door for $200. Robert picked it up, provided the hardware, and secured a new custom oak threshold, door frame, and hardware for all three doors. Work was scheduled for the following week. Again, Robert arrived exactly on the agreed time, and did an amazing job replacing one door and repairing the other two. His work was impeccable, he cleaned everything up, and even disposed the old broken door. All work was performed for the quoted price in one day. The doors swing and latch perfectly. I would definitely recommend Another Day Another Doors for any door installation or repair. Excellent service. read more
