From a price point, they came out thousands less than the closest competitor, and I'd note the closest competitor wasn't willing to do a transfer of the rebates. One of the others (Tnt Mechanical) scheduled first, and arrived in a black pickup truck with no identifying information, no uniform or company logo shirt, no business card. The number of scammers in our neighborhood is on the rise so I said no thank you and asked him to leave. Then Bluestar called me to set up a time; when they arrived it was more as I expect from a trusted business: company van, company uniform, business card, etc. Ivan was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He found a coolant leak in my system within minutes, showed it bubbling through leak detector fluid, and wrote up an estimate to repair the leak plus recharge the coolant. With a discount for cash, it was a very reasonable price and I agreed. He went to work right away. About an hour later he'd finished and took me around to inspect what he'd done, explaining everything. This really helped me feel at ease with the quality of the work, and that nothing had been done that wasn't necessary. He even helped show me some things about my furnace that I had questions about, not related to the AC work.
