Last week we had one of our units ice up and True sent out one of their technicians to see what was going on. Matt spent several hours and had to leave and pick up a part to repair our unit. He got the job done the same day in temperatures in the high 90s ! To our surprise when the bill comes, there was no charge! True did not even charge us for the service call! So I called an A/C service who said they would be there in the morning. They never showed but they finally called at 12:40 saying maybe tomorrow. Nope! Bubye...I called a local company...not a chain but a family business...with a receptionist who asked me to describe the problem. After hearing the issue she said it's probably a capacitor that costs about 32 bucks at Ace Hardware but if we come put it on there'd be a $450 charge. So I Googled and You Tubed...how do you fix a capacitor on a Trane A/C? After watching a couple...I went to Ace and bought a new capacitor...yanked the old one off and put the new one on...with a little bit of Jerry-rigging as it was skinnier than the old one and didn't fit the bracket...and voila! Air conditioner is humming along nicely!!! Saved a lot of money! Thanks Dorothy at Davey Heating and Cooling! It's nice to have great customer service even though I never used your service. Who does that any more! Well done!

Dorothy offered to schedule a tech that afternoon and then started running through the most common causes. With her on the line I found a blown fuse on the units motherboard and was able to replace it (props to Home Depot for having them in stock). Bottom line, she was polite, responsive AND helped me solve the issue over the phone at no cost. I will definitely call Davey Heating and Air for all my HVAC needs in the future.

We contacted Blue Horse Heat and AC per a referral from other homeowners in our neighborhood. We…read moreneeded to know if our A/C unit needed fixing before turning it on in hot weather. We had been told by another company that the evaporation coil above the furnace was so rusty that it was leaking refrigerant into it, and that it needed replacement of the capacitor and condenser fan motor. At a whopping cost of over $2,000, it was highly suspicious. They also were pushing an upgrade for an additional $700+. We needed a second opinion, and a technician from Blue Horse was available sooner than we expected. The technician stated that all of the evaporation coils that he looks at are rusted due to metal coming in contact with moisture as part of what an evaporation coil does. He then inspected the outdoor unit, hosed it off, and said our A/C was safe to turn on. The best part of the appointment: No charge!

The team has never tried to upsell and has always walked through every recommendation without pressure. Only once did we need some tuning that resulted in fees beyond our annual maintenance costs. The techs are friendly and knowledgeable. The email and text notifications are timely. The office staff is flexible with schedules and gives us plenty of notice to plan the visits.
