I called Brian of Grand Home Services and told him what the problem was and he came out. He charged me $341.72 for the less than 90 seconds it took him to switch out the High Limit unit. Seriously, unscrew 2 screws, disconnect 2 cables, screw in 2 screws and plug in the 2 cables and the furnace works perfectly, less than 90 seconds to correct. $341.72 to do that. Yep. I argued that I shouldn't be charged so much money for that and he said he doesn't set the prices, the company and owner does. BS. Check the Secretary of State business listings, Brian is the owner of the company so he lied as well. And when I searched for the part online, it is a $16 part. Yep, $341.72 for 90 seconds work and a $16 part. So no, would not recommend this company and would give them 0 stars if that was possible.

I had a lengthy conversation with the owner Jared who actually had the nerve to say that well sometimes they will miss some spots. (See my photos and decide if that was "some spots.") Jared actually had the nerve to attempt to discredit our new Hvac company who is very reputable in the industry and around town when our AC went out completely after only being in our new home for 1 month by saying that we didn't need to replace the condenser like our new HVAC company had strongly suggested and another HVAC co that came out also said was necessary. The funny part about it was Jared had actually never been out to our house to even assess the broken down condenser and broken furnace part that our HVAC company said needed more than just repairs. Jared simply wanted to do a mickey mouse patch work job and then have us call him back in a year when the condenser and furnace would fail again because it was not replaced in the first place which would have been the proper way to handle it. Additionally, Jared became very defensive on the phone and when I asked him how can you say that the other HVAC company is wrong when you have never actually looked at our broken units? He stuttered and became silent. Very unethical company. Stay far far away. You will be sinking money trying to do little repairs that in the long run will cost you greatly.

When my A/C stopped working suddenly I had the problem initially diagnosed by another larger company, who sent an inexperienced tech that told me that my entire system was in disrepair and that it needed to be replaced for almost $20K, because they could see rust on the coils and they could smell a refrigerant leak. I then set up an appointment with SMSI and got a second, HONEST AND INFORMED, opinion. The installer was very nice, informative and personable. He was steadfast and made sure the job was done. He cleaned up after himself too. Several technicians came out. The problem was fixed for a period of time and now has resurfaced. I called and learned that they were now actually Blue Valley. The response was totally unsatisfactory. They could not tell me whether I ever had a free service, what system was installed and had no access to any records of the purchase or warranties or service agreements. Very unsatisfactory. I used to be able to speak with knowledgeable people who had access to my account and records. No more. Call someone else!!
