Best sushi in Bloomington. If there is a better one, I have not found it. I wish this was open in the evenings.

I have been sheltered in for a couple of months and have been craving good sushi and not from the supermarket. I ordered takeout from JK's table online. I paid for the order and at a specified time I picked it up. As always the sushi was wonderful. I'm happy to support my local restaurants while they are closed for anything other than takeout. I imagine JK's Table is a nice little treat to the employees of the random business building it's located in. Seriously, so random, JK's Table is on the ground floor of an office building that is only identified by the other office building next to it. Ha. I like random, though. The decor is modest but clean. The space is a little narrow, but well-lit and not overcrowded. You order at the counter (check out their specials poster), get a number, and then they bring your food over - pretty swiftly too! We tried the JK's Poke Don, #9 roll, sake roll, unagi roll, shrimp tempura udon noodle soup (mostly because it was national noodle day!), and a side garden salad. This was plenty to feed our group of 3, and the pricing was very reasonable. If I could itemize the star-age here, I'd say food is 3.5, service is 5, and value is 5. Everything we ordered was good, but I don't know if I'd go out of my way for it. We ordered "spicy" heat levels but it was MN spicy. The unagi roll was perfect and I loved having all of the menu options, though! Nikki M accidentally ate the whole wad of wasabi and that was great entertainment! read more

Great place to stop for a quick lunch! Small- about 10 tables. Walk up service. Menu had fish/ poke bowls, rice bowls, sushi, bahn mi, and American sandwiches. All under $10! Us 3 ordered a poke bowl, fried chicken rice bowl, chicken bahn mi, and goyza! Fried chicken bowl- rice, cabbage, veggies, fried chicken and delicious sauce! 9/10! Bahn mi- great bread, nice pickled jalapeño , nice sliced chicken . 7/10 - great sandwich but lacking some flavor Poke bowls - so fresh! Delicious! You know when you find a place that just can't fail? That's JK's Table. I've been here just a couple of times now and everything I've tried so far has been absolutely phenomenal. The Food - Y.U.M. I have tried a couple of the poke bowls now and they're pretty dang good. The regular bowl is super yummy all on its own, but I strongly recommend trying the poke don instead. The spring mix on top is great and refreshing, plus now your bowl is a salad so it's healthy. The Service - I love this fast-casual style restaurant. You order at the counter, they hand you a number and your food is delivered. Everything is done fresh AND fast, so I'm pretty much blown away by that. The Atmosphere - It's pretty bland, but since you're literally inside an office building I don't know what to expect. There's plenty of comfortable seating and lots of windows for natural light. For a quick, cheap and easy lunch place that is totally fine for me. Maybe just don't go for a first date? A good hole in the wall place with great tasting Japanese food, and sandwiches. Quick, good service. The bad news is they are only open for lunch, Mon-Fri. I had the Spicy Tuna Sushi Bowl ($8). It definitely had a kick to it but not over the top. It came with avocados, tomatoes, tuna, rice and a zesty sauce with a little bit of kick. Great local spot, everything tastes super fresh, the Banh Mi is amazing, I have not had one item I did not enjoy yet, lots of parking and kind of a private location away from main roads. I come here fairly often...they are always consistent each and every time. I usually go for the spicy chicken rice bowl...it's simple, but delicious. I'm pretty limited here, since I'm allergic to seafood. But I did tried other things on the menu, such as banh mi (it's not good, btw). My BF normally gets the spicy tuna rice bowl, but this time got few rolls of sushi. He said it's fresh and taste really good. I've been craving some poke and since CA is a little too far for me to drive to, I definitely took to Yelp for the nearest Poke spot. JK's Table was one of the places that came up and it wasn't too far from me so I definitely had to stop in for my poke fix. I ordered the Spicy tuna bowl and the Poke Don Go. The Spicy Tuna Bowl was actually quite good and definitely had a kick to it. They put just enough unagi sauce for a little bit of sweetness and the perfect amount of tempura flakes for a crunch in every bite. I really enjoyed it and it definitely did satisfy my poke craving. The Poke Don Go was alright. I just had a few pieces and then gave it to the boyfriend. Their tuna definitely seems fresh. I barely saw any connective tissue in their tuna. I must also say that their portions are decent. Its not overly generous or leaving you hungry but enough to satisfy you. read more

I can only vouch for the Udon Noodle Soup and the Spicy Tuna Bowl but I'm obsessed. I typically come here every Friday for lunch and get the spicy tuna bowl. The spicy tuna bowl is huge. I want to say it's roughly the size of three spicy tuna rolls with avocado and a spicy shrimp sauce. I'm giving this 4 stars only because I want to set this apart from really high end sushi that I have had in places like New York and LA. It was worth the drive to this tiny counter-service cafe just to try JK's Poke Don. The tuna was fresh and tender without any connective tissue, and it was a nice-sized light-lunch serving. It was served with perfectly fresh spinach, wasabi, 4 bites of mango, 4-6 small bites of avocado, 4 small bites of cucumber, rice, sesame seeds and a nice drizzle of unagi sauce. We ordered the spicy sauce and it was a solid make-a-Scandanavian's-nose-run spicy. This was a delicious light lunch I could eat every other day--especially for only $8.50. There were a few other dishes on the menu which also utilized tuna: the Spicy Tuna Sushi Bowl, MN's Poke Don with seaweed salad, a Spicy Tuna Roll and the Spicy Tuna Salad. I am guessing any one of these would be delicious. Unfortunately we also tried the Rice Bowl with Teriyaki Chicken. Everyone in front of us ordered double meat and double veggies for an extra $3.50 (total: $11.50) so we did the same. The dish is listed on the menu as coming with "cooked vegetables, sauce, green onion, sesame seeds, mayo", but what it contained was 1 1/2 cups cabbage, 4 excruciatingly small slices of carrot, and no green onions or sesame seeds that we could find. The "doubled" chicken was a little over 4 ounces and was delightfully tender and moist, but almost flavorless. It was simply placed on top of the dish with the teriyaki sauce added afterward. We were so disappointed that we decided not to eat it and brought it home so I could remove the dreaded cabbage (which is how I know it was 1 1/2 cups). While I acknowledge I barely tolerate cabbage in generlThis dish was incredibly disappointing! The atmosphere is sparse. The location is in a nondescript office building with a separate entrance. Everything about this place is perfect. It's in this random office building in a weird part of Edina. Everything on the menu is fantastic. They're super efficient and getting people in and out during busy times, without making you feel awkward or pressured. I almost feel like I could bring my 2 year old here, but the possible meiwaku always gets to me. I haven't tried the sandwiches (I can get good sandwiches elsewhere), but all of the Japanese options I've tried have been delicious. Even the sushi - whaaaaa? I love JK's. I work in the area or I would have never heard of it. The food is so yummy. They are generally packed for lunch, so go early. It's very unassuming. Counter service and they will bring to your table or you can get it to go. My favorites are the Poke or the Chickey Karagaa Noodle soup. The Bahn Mis are great too. You get a good amount for your buck. I wish there was more choices and more add ins to the bowl like other places have. Yes, this is a small restaurant in an office building on Metro Blvd; so it's only open until 5 BUT they have great food and a good variety. Everything is made fresh and full of flavor. The space is nothing fancy, however everything is very clean. Everyone is accommodating and very nice. NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY !! They were randomly closed on a Wednesday, which is fine, however their website DID NOT provide this information ! I ordered my food, they took my money, and the confirmation said that the pick up would be the following day . So I went to the location to see what was going on and that's when I saw the sign in the window claiming they were closed . They have NO option to cancel your order once you've made it so I had to wait to the following day to call . They refuse to refund me my money - I'm only in office one day a week , I'm not driving 35 minutes to pick up food that I wanted the day before ! Whoever answered the phone kept talking over me and cutting me off , she admitted that they don't have a way to cancel an order once it's made (which is ridiculous, I could've just canceled it that day and we wouldn't be in this situation ) I explained to her over and over again that their website DID NOT state that they were closed but she didn't care ! Long story short they got $20 out of me and lost a customer for life !! read more

Food/Drink: They have a wide Japanese menu, but mostly focused on the raw fish which is done really well. I usually get one of the bowls (veggie, spicy tuna) and if I'm really hungry a roll or some sashmi to share. Without a doubt some of the best sushi I've had in MN. They're also pretty friendly to swapping the tuna with salmon or unagi and I've appreciated both But, don't stop there, if you can and want the experience, get the traditional Japanese breakfast. The omelette is probably the best prepared item in MN. Ambiance: This place is total stealth. Oh look, you're driving in Edina. Oh look, office towers, nothing special to see here. Oh look, small sign on the main road, easy to miss. Oh look office tower cafe restaurant with seating that matches and shortened hours you'd expect for your normal office. But "Bam", in your face, awesome Japanese food. Mic drop, all other pop culture references for cool things, etc, etc, In the end, the stealthiness of this place adds to the ambiance. When you introduce someone here and they're blown away have a great experience, you're just like "Ninja" and walk off (of course after saying proper good byes, hugs, high fives, etc) Service: Awesome. Reading through the website, you understand that it's the husband wife team and they're doing great. They have plenty of staff to deliver stuff out right away, they're accommodating on special requests and in general I've always felt welcome here. Never had an order screwed up and they're pretty helpful if you ask questions. Overall: It's so good, I'm torn writing this review (and stroking my ego) that so many people will read it and flood this joint that it might suffer. But the food here is on point, I've been here for breakfast, lunch and anytime in between until they close. They've got a great menu for the lunch crowd, but once I started venturing off that into the other stuff I was blown away. I feel like they can't do anything wrong and that's always a good thing to have in your eating rotation. I could eat here everyday! We tried this for the first time during quarentine. They offered curbside pickup which was really convenient. I love that you can get everything from Noodle soups, to egg salad sandwich, to customized sushi bowls. Theres something for everyone here. We got 2 custom sushi bowls and one Teryaki chicken bowl. Super fresh! I've loved everything i've ever tried here! I have yet to set foot inside this place but I have ordered delivery plenty of times! This place participates in Foodsby which is a company that is set up for food delivery to businesses. It's great to have some variety for lunch without the hassle of driving anywhere!
