Took my car in for a check engine light, within 2 hours called me to say it was a misfire on cylinder 3 and proceeded to sell me on the fact it was a fuel injector and that I had to replace all 4 of them amongst other things that should be done when you replace them...quoted me a hefty price of 2250, which is over half of what the car is worth. Then, i took it to a legit mechanic who wouldn't screw me over by guessing what the issue was and not even really do any reasonable process of elimination as it could have been a few things. So my real mechanic swapped coils 3 and 1 in case the code came up and would this time manifest on coil one thus meaning a coil issue. We replaced the spark plugs and did an oil change and my mechanic cleared the code and said drive it til the light comes back on. 200 miles later no engine light and I get away with replacing the spark plugs and an oil change for a fraction of the cost jk Volvo quoted me for a service that my mechanic has now deemed grossly unnecessary (minus also the fact that fuel injectors if that were the issue could also be cleaned if not too far gone, something they failed to mention). So what did JK Volvo do other than try to get away with charging an arm and a leg for a service to somebody they deemed maybe too stupid to know the difference? That's why I have a go to mechanic. He may be further away than Pasadena to me but he's worth every damn mile. Shame on you JK Volvo. read more

They talk to you as you are responsible for sth wrong in your car, especially the guy on telephone, and I can see this is a common issue from other reviews here. Mike, this was not done at a different location. The invoice I have clearly states that the address is the same. JK Volvo I didn't bring my car back to you because I didn't like your quality of work. The reason I did not write a bad review originally was is because of the friend that referred me to you. My friend actually called you about the issues , minus the ac, ( AC stopped worked a week or so after she called) and you told her to bring back the car so you can hook it back up to the robot which failed me the first time around. I didn't need a robot checking my car, I needed a mechanic checking my car. WHY would I bring the car back to you? You did not fix the issues that the car had, and you gave it back to me with in worse condition. I love that it's your "professional" option that flaps on the Mini breaking is a common occurrence when my new mechanic, who also specializes in Mini's and BMW's, said that he has never seen this before, and he has been in the business for decades. The piece is clearly severed off and you are going to stick to your story and say that it happened on its own? Have you looked at the picture? As a mechanic, you can say that it broke on its own? Also, had you read my original review thoroughly, you would see why I waited so long to get the AC fixed. I didn't know the flap was broken until I took it to my mechanic. Had I known about the damage your mechanics caused my car 8 months ago, I would have addressed the issue back then. And to answer your questions about why I waited for long to do this review is because others need to know who they are dealing with. I chucked up the first experience as my bad luck and your businesses inability to "duplicate "the issues I was having, but when you damage my car and I get stuck with the bill, then I will speak up. We have been going to JK Volvo for over 20 years for service of our various Volvos. One cannot imagine a more customer oriented owner than Mike. That feeling is reflected in all his employees. They know everything about these vehicles, and give sound advice, even on auto purchases. Everything related to repairs is explained in detail in advance. Often, the repairs are completed in advance of the estimated time of completion. Once, I had an unexpected problem late one afternoon. I called, spoke to Mike, described what had happened, and he just said "Bring it up now, and we will fix it". Fix it they did in less than an hour, even though it probably set them back on their work schedule. I expect they stayed late that day due to the extra job, but never was anything said later about what was done for me. I recommend them most heartily. read more

They had it tuned up in just under 3 hours. No frills no nonsense. I asked them about getting snow chains and they went out of the way to write down my tire size and even recommended some good spots to get a good deal (Amazon! Haha who knew). I wanted to inform potential customers to Stay Away from this place, I was referred by European Auto Hause, I took my Mini Cooper they specialize in Volvo's but they said they also work on Mini's. The problem was that the fan was staying on after ignition was turned off. I took in the car for a diagnostic quote. Danny indicated that the car needed a Thermostat replacement and other parts totaling between $750 to $950.00 in repairs. I told them that I pick up the car to take elsewhere to get repaired. I paid them the diagnostic fee which was $140.00. the receipt showed that they did a diagnostic check and got a fault code 2947. which is actually the Temperature Sensor. I took the car to carmax service department and Indeed it was just the Temperature sensor NOT the "need to replace the Thermostat or any other parts". I paid $75.00 to get it fixed. STAY AWAY FROM JK VOLVO SPECIALIST. I was willing to take my car back for other repairs when I heard the owner {Mike} say "I won't take your car back".....so Thank You for the advice owner.......rude and condescending. I have to say Danny who answered my initial call was nice. read more

This the only place we will take our Volvos; we've had four, starting in 1994 with a 940 Wagon (which was given to one of our children when she was finishing her MA), followed by two other well-maintained sedans. We keep our cars for quite a long time, since they are expensive and, most importantly, dependable and safe. Our last car is a 2010 S80, which runs like new, thanks to the great crew at JK Volvo Specialists. The last repair was finished 5 days ago, a replacement of all six injectors. Mike and Danny alerted me that after new plugs (genuine Volvo) and new coils, that if I had any "Check Engine" lights, the last culprit would be the injectors. Sure enough, after the last repair, the car runs like new. A few bucks, sure, but well spent. If you want honesty, clear information and fair prices you can't go wrong with JK Volvo!
