My first visit to Riffraff was for a book signing last weekend, but it won't be my last. I truly…read morelove the concept of this well stocked bookstore that is also a coffee shop and...get this...A BAR! The space is divided in two parts: The bookstore area and the cafe/lounge space. This is the perfect place to host a book signing or an open mic and intimate in the best way....cozy, but not crowded. It was daytime when I went, so there were plenty of pastries on display and they all looked amazing. The coffee and bar spirit selection were excellent, but I opted for a mocktail and was not disappointed I can't wait to come back and definitely want to go for one of their summer film nights in the courtyard. The movie schedule looks top-tier.

The location was a tad intimidating for me as a typical shy girl, but park at the spot inside the business, and walk towards the inner section, passing a clinic and the Troop. Didn't have time to browse too much, but I noticed others were here to study and work too~ we all seemed to be on the save vibe or getting work down. WiFi is such a cool password made me chuckle. Will come again when I'm the area.

Every detail feels intentional and creatively combined -- from the beautiful art screens on the windows to the barstools made with skateboard backs. The space has a unique artistic identity without feeling forced or pretentious. It's one of those places that feels lively and inspiring the moment you walk in.

Favorites are the vegan bahn mi (with fried tofu and cashew pate, crunchy picked vegetables) the cardamom pancakes and the cheddar biscuits. Biscuits are huge and buttery with a moist interior and a crunchy outside. The pancakes are the biggest pancakes I've ever seen! They were bigger than our heads. We got three to share for the table but honestly one would have been enough. Cocktails are strong and the bloody mary was perfectly spicy. Service can be a little slow at times but was friendly and helpful. The music can also get loud and voices echo when it's busy. So don't bring your noise sensitive friends. Make sure you have a reservation as it can get crowded!

I came here with my friend and…read morethe first thing that caught my eye were the hot dog and burger plushies, followed by the multiple old school arcade games to the left. The longer I looked around, the more cool things I noticed like an air hockey table and figurines throughout. Also, the middle of the condiment holder was a fake (but very real looking) chicken nugget which was unique. They have two big screen TVs and they were showing a football game. We had the RI Food Fights Wiener coupons and this is the first place that had a menu specific to this event. My friend ordered the backyard hot dog and I ordered the Chicago dog with a side of fries. Our order came out after about 10 minutes. The hot dogs were grilled to perfection, pretty thick, long, and juicy. I couldn't tell if they were all beef though. Both the buns were toasted, but the Chicago one came on a bun with poppy seeds. All the toppings were fresh and had just the right amount of each. The fries were simple but very good - crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Our server was very kind and attentive. This is definitely a hidden treasure. One other plus is that they have a large parking lot.

Lots of retro decor (think Slimer from Ghostbusters, Hulk Hogan pillow buddies, etc). The walls are lined with arcade games... bring your quarters! Whole variety of seating, from tables and chairs to circular booths, and the like. The perfect space to settle in for a bit, especially on a rainy weekend evening. We were greeted immediately and provided with a number of menus... and what a menu! Lots of comfort food options ranging from apps to entrees, and a number of sandwiches and burgers. I was vacillating between the hot dogs and a couple of the chicken sandwich's and ultimately selected the Cool Ranch Ray with grilled chicken, cheddar, bacon, and Ranch dressing. It was delicious! Unfortunately, the fries left something to be desired as they were fairly dried out and a bit tough to get down. Perhaps a bit less time in the fryer could have fixed that. Dessert was a nice cap to the meal with Nutella empanadas. Yum! PB & Jealous drink... divine. Our waiter Chris was moving and grooving... never seeming to stop for a second and always finding time to check in with us. Pretty certain he was behind the bar AND waiting tables and kept up with it all. Bravo! Fun evening, great food. Will definitely be back.
