I was a bit wary of the food offerings at the Inn based on the middling reviews, but I found Jimmy's to be a very relaxing place to get good (if not reasonably priced) food. The wife & I split the burger for lunch, opting for the beer battered onion rings as a side, and both were delicious. On another visit, she & I sat in the outdoor patio area and had a Pixie Cooler and a Painkiller, respectively, from the special drinks menu. The Pixie Cooler had come highly recommended by the front desk gal, but the rum-based Painkiller was the real winner (so much so that we photographed the card listing the drinks & ingredients so that we could attempt to replicate it at home). On another solo, I had the Caesar salad with chicken, and it was quite good. Service was very friendly and helpful. Sit inside to avoid the flies landing on your food, but if the weather is pleasant you might opt for the patio over the somewhat frigid A/C. read more

Living in Ojai I often forget about the oasis known as the Ojai Valley Inn. Hate to say it, but this place has gone way downhill. Used to be one of the only late night spots to go in Ojai and had a great burger and atmosphere. Sad, but I can safely say that this will be the last time I come here. The $20 burger and fries tasted like a 2am room service burger. Just save your money. RIP. read more

The waiter went out of his way to see that we had all we wanted, and water/iced tea never dropped too low. Ahi Poke was awesome, as was the Caesar. I had a great Cabernet that the waiter recommended, as well as a Stone 22oz. Good times sitting over the gold course. That said, I will certainly be back, and update this review with my experience on the inside. Well played guys. I would normally give this place 5 Stars. We eat here on a regular basis. The food is great. The atmosphere is great. I take customers golfing there. It's amazing. The manager is great. The manager at The Olivella is awesome as well. That being said, we had to walk out of Jimmy's Pub tonight. We went there to watch a little basketball and enjoy some dinner. We sat down and we were ordering drinks. I asked our waitress to hang on for four seconds because it was the end of the game. She lost her mind when I tried to apologize for making her wait. She told us that she wanted to give up her table and completely lost her mind. I will be back because we love this place. The manager made reservations for us at Monte Grappa and really tried to make things right. He called ahead to the valet who took care of us. We love this place and we will be back. I can only hope that our waitress was just having a bad day. read more

Good spot for relaxing outside under the trees and umbrellas for some drinks and apps. It's definitely bar fare, i.e. tacos, nachos, fries, guacamole, etc. but that's fitting for the vibe and environment. Although this restaurant/bar is a bit pricy, it serves quality food and cocktails. The view is quite nice--the patio overlooks a golf course. For our appetizer, we ordered the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp (jumbo prawns actually) were perfectly cooked. The sauce was also nicely balanced, with good tang from the ketchup and a mild heat from the horseradish. My main course was the short rib tacos. They were fine, but I've had better. It needed a bit of heat and a fresh corn tortilla would have worked better than the flour tortilla on which it was served. The star of our meal was the chicken pot pie. I highly recommend this. A good portion and wonderful flavor... Good quality comfort food. I should say the service was very good also. Our host/server, Emmy, was gracious, professional and very attentive. Overall, we has a nice meal in a comfortable setting, and were treated very well by Emmy! read more

I've been coming to the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa Jimmys restaurant for 15 years now and always loved it. Recently they acquired a manager and it has turned awful. They now require that I request a shot and a soda separate. So for whiskey and soda I get a shot of whiskey and a soda and must make it myself. Secondly, when asking for a glass of wine I must state if I want a 6 ounce or 9 ounce drink. I'm eating at a four star resort I do not want to be nickel and dimed for my drinks. It has ruined the atmosphere. I'm not paying 125$ for a dinner and 16$ a drink to be pre poured my drinks like some corporate chain. I say bad form Ojai Valley Inn Jimmys you know better and this who new manager can go back where he came. He has ruined my personal favorite restaurant for 15 years. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this place! First, Elvis Rivers, was the best bartender I've ever come across. Granted, I'm NOT a regular at bars, but he was so nice and catered to us. It was like having our own personal bartender. He concocted a fruit platter with strawberries, pineapple and grapes and then poured a different liqueur over each fruit. What a treat that blended the flavors of the fruit with each liqueur! We sat next to a gal who was celebrating her birthday with some friends and then next thing you know, Elvis had a dessert brought out for her with candles and all! The bananas with the creme brûlée topping were outrageously delicious! We had such a great time we went back the next night and enjoyed a couple of beers while Elvis was making falernum (you'll have to look this one up if you don't know what it is) from scratch just to test it out. I believe he is a true mixologist who is intrigued by flavors to bring to the patrons of Jimmy's for years to come. We also was also met Bobak, a waiter, who had this smile that lit up the room. He was also very friendly and spent a few minutes talking with us even though we didn't order any food. I wish him luck with his future. All in all, I would have to say that I would definitely make this a stop if you are in the area, or even if you aren't! Really great place that's "off the beaten path". Food was excellent and a good selection of beer and wine. I enjoyed the two large flat screens playing sports and then also was able to take my beer outside to a table that was right up against the golf course. Bar tenders were friendly. read more

Opened until Midnight Friday and Saturday and 11pm other days, this was a great restaurant to unwind and get a late snack and/or drink while looking out under the star filled sky. We were staying at the Valley inn Resort and wandered over to the pub at about 10pm, sat outside by the heater torch, and ordered French Fries and Wild Mushroom pizza. We already had a good dinner but being on vacation, we opted to spend some time out and about before calling it a day. The french fries were like any standard fries, but at 10ish at night, its comfort food and the mushroom pizza w/ truffle oil was tasty. Prices were reasonable too. If you like cupcakes, go for the cupcake of the day - the cupcakes at the resort are amazing! (not too sweet, just right on the frosting). Very relaxing. read more

Service was not as it should be when staying at a place like the Ojai Valley Inn!!! This was my husband and myself first visit. After checking in, we were excited to have lunch at Jimmy's Pub. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to sit outside. We walked in and were told to sit anywhere we wanted, and menus would be brought to us. We chose a great little table along the golf course and menus were brought right over. Great start, but unfortunately our service ended there!!! Appears our server left for the day, and after 30 minutes of waiting, we were finally helped with my drink and food order by a server that was helping another table. Where our server went, we will never know!!! Horrible experience and definitely not a way to start our escape to Ojai Valley Inn. Very disappointed Jimmy's Pub!!! read more

Love love love Jimmy's Pub! Great place for us locals to hang out and be treated just as well as the fancy hotel guests. And the Ojai Valley Inn really treats the locals well ;). Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic customer service, and awesomely unique food and drink menus. The pals and I love to come here and chat with the friendly staff and relax in the air-conditioned wood paneled bar, especially in the horrendous summer heat that Ojai is known for. Why am I just writing a review now? The newly updated food and drink menus are AMAZING! Came here because my fiancé was looking for a place to watch a football game. It was 11:45 a.m., so the place was pretty dead. They were accommodating to put the game on. The service was excellent! I love the Parmesan chips that they serve to start. The food was good, although pricey. My burger was $17, and his buffalo sandwich was $15. Beer is $7.50 and my glass of white wine was one of the lower priced at $12. I was happy they had gluten free bread for my burger (bread, not bun, though), however the burger was ok, nothing special. The ambiance is nice-especially if you sit outside, which overlooks the golf course. We sat inside to watch the game, which is dimly lit and feels like a pub (not ideal for broad daylight!). I ended up here 4 nights in a row while staying at the Ojai Valley Inn for good reason. The kids played on the grass right out front while I enjoyed a beverage with the wife. The wings and ham and cheese sandwich are must haves, I was blown away by both. Wish they had more beer on tap but that might be nit picking. The homemade chips are crazy good and the wife states the steak tacos were amazing. Its worth a visit even if not staying at the Ojai Valley Inn. Service was second to none, they learn your name quickly and catered to every need, the perfect way to end a long day poolside :) read more

We've been going to Jimmy's Pub regularly as a family for a few years. We love to go for dinner when there are sporting events we like to watch on television, since we don't have one in our home. I've always loved coming here, the food is excellent, I love the salad, fresh mixed greens in a light balsalmic. They have the most incredible drinks for kids and adults! They also have the world's greatest bartender named Aaron! This guy!!! I cannot begin to list.. or maybe I can. Aaron makes the most incredible root beer float, Ojai coffee for the parents, bananna lemonade for everyone! Our last visit he put on an aroma presentation at our table! My jaw was dropped the entire time, wow! Using a blow torch, bananna flambe', then three different liquors to observe the change in taste and smell. This guy loves what he does and it's so much fun to let him surprise us! We are totally ruining our kids, they will be the hugest bar snobs on the planet!! What's really cool though is Aaron's repertoire of non-alcoholic drinks that are incredible! Fun for everyone! read more

Disaster from beginning to end. We knew it was in the supposedly finest resort in this area. Were expecting to enjoy watching a game in the pub in a relaxed atmosphere and have some decent food and drink. Lighting terrible. Spot lights shining in our eyes. Sound much too loud and I do like to hear the announcers. After being seated, nobody greeted us for 10 minutes. I finally got up and asked for some service. Waiter took our order--- a salad and tacos with the salad coursed first. Salad never came until questioned where it was. I asked the manager if they were shorthanded. She said no but they had had some large parties. Very poor excuse since these parties were either paid or leaving! No excuse for the KITCHEN to take so long with a salad! Then came immediately. We were only half done with it when the tacos were placed on our table by this same manager! Sent these back as not ready for them. Check came. Nothing comped, no apology. Let's be clear. The problems were not the waiter's fault, He made a real effort. The problems were systemic and began with those in charge. Lastly, check the drink prices---- about $17 for a Negroni! $16 for a margarita? Obscene, decadent, embarrassing. Anybody who pays this much should send equal amounts to one of the 4 countries in the world with severe famines where a dollar might feed someone for a week. And now it is the morning and my stomach, which almost never troubles me, is still cramping after numerous trips to the bathroom. read more
