After years of driving past Jimmy's, my wife and I finally got to stop here to try their barbecue. The place is clean and the person who served us was very pleasant, but we were greatly disappointed to discover the food didn't leave us with a good first impression. We ordered one pulled pork sandwich and one brisket sandwich with sides of their parsley potatoes, mac-and-cheese, green beans and cole slaw. The brisket was very dry and chewy, so much so that I had to drown it in sauce in order to make it palatable (their hot sauce is pretty good). The pulled pork was kind of bland and neither sandwich had that smoky barbecue flavor we had hoped for. Side portions were served in shallow cups and were a bit stingy for $3.00 each. The parsley potatoes were very bland and in small cubes, almost like hash browns. Green beans were soggy and like canned beans--no bacon, no buttery flavor or seasonings. Mac-and-cheese was okay, even as the server scraped the bottom of the stainless tray to get what obviously was not fresh--in fact, all of the food we got seemed to be the late afternoon, bottom-of-the-tray food...and it was 4:30 in the afternoon, early dinner time. The cole slaw was pretty good and definitely a nice surprise after so much of the rest of the food was so blah. It really hurts to write a negative review of a local business because my wife and I like to support them instead of going to big chain stores and restaurants. We have been trying foods from local businesses as potential caterers for our son's upcoming party, but we regret this will be one place we can't recommend to him. read more

Boy have we been missing out! I've lived in the Falls since 2005 and around the corner from Jimmy's since 2025. Today, I was hangry so hubby stopped here so we could finally try them. I got the half order of bbq nachos and he got the bbq wrap. We split both and am I glad we did. Sooo delicious. The sauce was amazing and even though I'm not a huge fan of pulled pork, theirs is delicious. I overheard them discussing the corn muffins so o tried one. I may have to order by the dozen. On second thought, I'd better not because I know I wouldn't share. About those nachos. They make their own chips! I loved them. I'm so used to boring bagged chips but these were fresh and yummy. We will for sure be coming back here and probably on a regular basis. Make sure not to pass this place up if you're in the mood for good food! I can hardly wait to try more! read more

I am giving 3 stars because the customer service is great! First let me say I've driven past this place for 5 yrs because Big Eue's is my go to. But I was in the neighborhood and stopped by because I didn't feel like driving all the way to big eue's which isn't far at all but I had to get home ...anyhoo I have to say the service is A+...5 star. Ambiance is great. Clean and inviting. The food.... Ehh. I got brisket. I always get brisket when I get bbq if I'm not getting ribs. While the taste of it was good...the brisket was sooo dry and chewy. My jaws were tired of chewing. I've never had brisket that wasn't juicy and melt in your mouth pretty much. Why was it dry? I was so disappointed . The coleslaw was good so was the sauce but the fries tasted like the grease. Not like potatoes. Idk if they serve any type of seafood or not but the fries tasted like they'd been fried in fish or shrimp grease. And their texture was just weird I can't explain it. The fishy taste was so off putting I just tossed the fries. Please make sure u are cooking with fresh oil when making fries. Maybe they were just having an "off day" I don't know. Un. Be. Lievable! Let me first say that I called them up without much notice because I wanted to do something impromptu nice for my staff who has been busting their tails. Jason was super helpful and gave me A1 customer service explaining what they could do for my 20 person order, all while being in the middle of lunchtime rush. Dude was great! They had the order ready for pickup in an amazingly short amount of time. We ordered the ribs, chicken wings, pulled pork and Mac n Cheese. Honestly, this ranks up with some of the best BBQ I've had. The flagship sauce is zesty and sweet savory with a good smokiness. I'd put it on anything! And to top it off, they had freshly made slider rolls straight out of the oven! We washed it down with a couple gallons of sweet tea and freshly squeezed lemonade. Just an awesome experience and the best BBQ in the Cuyahoga Falls area. We will definitely be back for more. Listen up people... when you find a barbecue place with tables made from lumber in small town collocated with a laundromat you walk in and ask for one of everything and then you stay a while and enjoy every bite. Every single one. The brisket is my fav but the sausage and ribs rock too. The sides are delish especially the slaw and potato salad but the one thing that will absolutely crush you are the burritos... I have a ton of friends that come from far away and our only rule is no chain restaurants. Local restaurants are the requirement, neighborhood joints is the real goal. tried this place a few weeks ago, and decided on a repeat. Wow, the first try wasn't a fluke. I tried the brisket chili with a bbq brisket sandwich. The very best ever. I can't say enough about my meal. the service was first class as was the time involved. the portion size was so generous that I have enough for a second meal. When I see "backyard bbq" in a name I expect to be wowed and to love what's in front of me. I wasn't wowed. It was ok but it wasn't great. I personally love brisket but the brisket I had today was rather dry even dipping it in the sauce, which was actually good. The garlic bread was less than desirable but I mean I didn't go for that, so we can mark that as a wash. I did enjoy the pulled pork. It was delicious and the sauce complimented it well. The service was great and the price point was around $13 for 2 meats, 2 sides, bread and sauce. Which competes well across the country but it definitely is more of a chain than an authentic bbq lovers joint. I will give it another try but for now - it's not somewhere I'd frequent. read more

We really liked this place! We went around lunchtime on a Saturday and were the only people in the place...thought that was strange lol but the decor inside was so intentional for a BBQ cookout and it looks amazing! I love the wood fence planks that they have all over the place, the metal sheeting, and the bright colors on the walls. The attention to detail was very impressive. The staff was somewhat friendly but seemed like we were interrupting something he was doing....idk. it was weird lol Now this isn't the best BBQ in the business or anything but it was pretty delish. The cornbread was worth the calories. The green beans were like canned green beans which was a disappointment. The pulled pork was surprisingly lean while the brisket was more fatty which didn't please mom haha The BBQ sauce selection was enjoyable. Finally tried this little spot that is literally not even a mile from my house - I tend to over order because I like to try a couple bites of everything. The portion sizes are decent. The cornbread was probably some of the best I've ever had. Mac n cheese was okay. Probably wouldn't order it again but their fries were delicious! My first time at Jimmy's. My friend was an hour late so I waited. I was amazed how many people came for takeout. They do a booming business. Inside once my friend arrive we ordered our food and sat on the patio. I ordered the smoked salmon and five wings my friend ordered a half rack of ribs. The smoked salmon was great but the wings were the best I have had. I have never had wings where the meat fell off the bone. The barbecue sauce was awesome. My friend raved about the half rack of ribs. Same thing the meat falls off the bone and great sauce. If you like barbecue this is the place to go. Friendly staff as well. read more

I ordered the brisket which tasted like very oily flavorless potroast. The chicken wings were pretty good, not very interesting but passable. Unsauced, but they had an ok flavor. The bbq sauces were just...there. Really very little flavor. Everything seemed like it had been basted in oil before serving. Strange, liquid, oiliness in every bite, without the flavor of deliciousness that greasy foods have. This would have been a pretty decent bbq dinner if I were eating at a hospital where they can't season anything for the patients. I really wanted to like this place. Interesting menu with a lot of creative items, including some Mexi-BBQ fusion items. I ordered a pork bbq salad and my wife ordered a pork bbq rice bowl. We both knew we were in trouble when they pulled out this tiny little bowl, added some pulled pork, then put it on the scale. It evidently exceeded the specification for weight because the lady behind the counter spent the better part of 30 seconds removing chunk by chunk from the bowl until the weight was right. We're talking grams here of cheap pieces of meat (pork shoulder sells wholesale for $1.49/lb). Anyway, for what you pay for, you get very little meat, and walk away hungry. Pork was fine, a little dry but alright (we think it had been sitting out the night before). On to the brisket, some of the worst brisket I've ever had. I ordered with Doordash, and the order was delivered accurately and quickly. I didn't really care for the potato salad, but that's just a personal taste issue. I don't think it is prepared fresh at the store. I also had the pulled pork sandwich. The bread was perfect, and the taste of the pulled pork with a little of the original bbq sauce was great. My only issue is the bottom of the container was dripping in oil. As I ate, it took several napkins to keep mopping the oil off my hands. I really wanted to like it, I really did. Firstly the service is tremendous absolutely nice respectful people they took my order politely and had it ready promptly on time. However, the food absolutely was a disappointment. Starting off with small portions. If you pay 15 dollars for a plate of food you expect a plate of food not 2 small bowls and a little container for the meat. It would be one thing if the portions were small but the food itself is bland. I got a plate with wings mac and potato salad and every single thing was under seasoned. The mac tasted store bought and same with the potato salad. The wings themselves were incredibly tender and they fell of the bone but they had no seasoning on them. This is not BBQ .... The staff great but the food was bland mushy and just bad . BBQ should have flavor and texture. The brisket had zero flavor was very fat fatty. The ribs were just store bought ribs with sauce slapped on them that was reheated. Beans were just can beans that had been sitting in liquid all day. Parsley potatoes were boiled potatoes that had had boiled for oh I don't know a week. Seasoning would be great...there is no lock on the bathroom door ??? .... Let me start out by admitting that I never write restaurant reviews...I'd rather spend the time eating than typing on my phone. That being said, if there was a way to give this place zero stars, I would. For atmosphere, I'd give an 8/10.
