I picked up BBQ at Joes on a Friday 10 minutes after it opened and still had to wait 20 minutes in line. They still do t have seating yet as they are waiting on permit approval. The pulled pork was good and did not have any fat. The sauce was a little sweet with hickory flavor. The ribs are great and meaty with a little fat. Finally the half chicken was excellent and moist. Prices are reasonable and the building is new and well decorated. I plan to come back often. read more

There is not a single thing not to love here. Ive really enjoyed watching the owners success over the last several years. The half chicken with a brisket mac bowl is my go to order and is def enough to feed two people, with leftovers! Because of their popularity, there always seems to be a wait/line but it's worth it! read more

Hands down the BEST BBQ in the area--no question! I ordered the smoked burger, brisket bowl, creamy potato salad, and smoked mac and cheese... and OMG. Every bite was incredible. The smoked burger was juicy with that perfect smoky char. The brisket in the bowl was tender and full of flavor. The mac and cheese had just the right amount of smoke and cheesiness, and the potato salad was creamy and cool--exactly what I wanted on the side. The staff was friendly, the food came out hot, and I left completely stuffed and satisfied. I'll definitely be back. This place is BBQ done right! His business is currently in a trailer but will be brick and mortar very soon as it is currently being built and looks awesome. It is located in the Brimfield area. Great vibes!! read more

The food is excellent. I can't argue that. What's maddening is the wait and the layout of the place. The people are nice, but if you built a building, put at least some folding tables out. Put a picnic table or two outside. I came on a Friday around 1250p and walked in and was about the 23rd person inline. And the line did not move quickly. One person making sandwiches and who is also the only person who will cut the larger orders of meat, thus slowing the line down even further, is a weird thing to me. Business seems to dictate at least two people making sandwiches. Wasn't sure about buddy and his job as he just stood behind the three ladies working and stared at everything. Like I said the food is great and I'd eat it again in a heartbeat, but something's gotta be done about the ordering process for sure. Only open three days a week? Lots of business being left on the table. Check them out, but be ready to wait. read more

Brisket sandwich was good. We all agreed that it could use more sauce. Good to know, so that if we ever go back we can ask for extra sauce. The ribs and mac n' cheese were both phenomenal. The potato salad was meh. I felt it was a bit dry. Staff were friendly and the restaurant appeared to be very clean. read more

This place has the best barbecue. I had the half chicken and my companion had a pulled pork Mac bowl. Portions are good size. Prices are fair for the quality you receive. Prepare to wait in line, it's a popular place especially at lunch time. They are open until they sell out so get there early. Also, plan for take out as there is not seating. read more

The food is really good. I went all out. You will have to wait at least 35 mins for anything. But I goes quick. Just know what ya want before you get to the carving station. I will say when they have pastrami get it, sandwich by the pound whatever get it. The brisket burger is absolutely amazing, for $9 it's amazing and well worth it. It's a no frills type place you walk inside find the end of the line and just wait, the staff is very nice and get to it quickly so your not waiting for ever... I got some Mac and cheese and that was the only thing I wasn't that impressed with. The ribs are okay, the brisket is good. My wife has a Gluten allergy and they are conscientious about allergies. There is a placard on the glass when you get to the carving station and the person carving had a pretty good idea what you can have and what you can't. I didn't not try the turkey, or the chicken, or the pulled pork, because the pulled pork had a sauce on it and the sauce is not Gluten free, but you can get it in the side for almost anything except the ribs and the pulled pork. But I'm telling you the brisket burger, oof! So good. The parking lot will be full just hope when you pull in there is a spot, it is in the corner of 43 and 18 but it's easy in and out... oh and I tried calling to order ahead never had luck. And they will sell out, so don't wait till late afternoon and think you can just pop in. They open at 11 on Saturdays and that's when I when and I was there at 11:40 and I still waited 35 mins that's pull in and wait and leave. They have public restrooms.... So use it before you stand in line. read more

Great great the greatest bbq in all of Ohio and maybe the Northern half of the country!! Joe and his people are all very nice and friendly and welcoming. You can't go wrong with that chicken or brisket and Mac n cheese that they are putting out. Never had a bad meal and I've had it 1-2 times a week since 2023ish. Forgot to mention the best part. AFFORDABLE!!! Great portions at a great price. read more

Perfect amount of smoke and rub on the meat. Sauces aren't even needed but are out of this world! Any line is worth the wait

Absolutely incredible food. Tried almost everything on the menu and it was all a hit! Quick service with great prices!

This is the real deal. Truly one of the best pulled pork's I have ever had. The turkey, brisket, and pastrami are top notch. But, the pulled pork will be in my dreams. read more

Joe's BBQ is a little trailer on the corner of 43E and Tallmadge Road in Kent, Ohio. At first sight it doesn't seem like much, but don't let that fool you. They are cranking out some killer BBQ! I have never been a big brisket fan - but after tasting Joe's; I'm definitely a convert!! You can order it any way you like. I prefer extra lean as I'm not a big fan of fatty pieces. Even extra lean, the meat is tender, juicy and flavorful. Now let's talk about the sauce. Oh that sweet, sweet sauce. It's so good, they need to bottle it. If I could, I would buy it by the case. So make sure to order extra on the side - you'll be glad you did. The people who run it are friendly, helpful and happy. Always have a smile on their faces. Make sure to get there early, as they do run out of their popular items pretty fast like their brisket burger and chicken sandwiches. In addition to BBQ they have smoked Mac and cheese, potato salad, beans and desserts all made from scratch. For your convenience they take cash or card. Check them out - you won't be disappointed. read more

As someone who's lived in Texas this is the best bbq I've had In Ohio. Not even close tbh. I've had almost everything on the menu and it's all just very solid. One of the best barbecue I've had? Service is fast and it is very fast. Brisket Mac and cheese bowl is good,

We love Joe's! It is for sure some of the best BBQ you can get in NE Ohio! We have literally sampled everything and you can't go wrong no matter the order, unless you don't also get the banana pudding, then you've messed up. Service is quick and efficient. read more

This might be the best BBQ meat in the Cleveland area. I've spent 26 years in texas and long for good quality bbq outside of the state, which is basically impossible. However, owner of Joe's BBQ spent some time in ATX, and also missed the bbq culture, so he opened this spot. The brisket, ribs, sausage had excellent texture and smoke. The brisket burger was a little bland, not even dressed with pickles and onions. The sides need some work, potato salad was a little bland and mac and cheese was curdle-y. I'd still come back for the quality of the meat if I'm hankering for Texas BBQ! read more

Best barbecue I have had in Ohio! The ribs, brisket, pulled pork and potato salad are always 5/5. Service is quick and efficient.

The food was delicious! Loved the brisket and pulled pork! The bbq sauce is on point! The baked beans were really great too! The mac and cheese was the only thing we tried that was just okay because it was a bit dry and didn't have as much flavor as I'd prefer (might I suggest some smoked gouda if you guys read this), but with everything else being stellar it isn't a deal breaker. I literally called a bunch of family nearby to recommend them as soon as we were done because we were so impressed, resulting in my parents going later that day and loving it too! We will be back for sure! read more

This was simply some of the best barbecue I've had in quite some time. I usually tend to home make my own barbecue since it's hard to find good quality but now I can conveniently enjoy some delicious barbecue on the weekend without the stress of cooking. I ordered a little of everything purely out of curiosity and I wasn't sorry about it. The brisket was by far my favorite. The meat was so tender and flavorful. I moved onto the ribs and wow.....fell right off the bone. So incredibly tender. They just melted in my mouth. I do wish I could've ordered this in a half rack since it was just me eating but I'll have plenty of left overs to last me so I can't even complain. Lastly I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. I was so full at this point that I could only have two bites but it was just as delicious. I love a heavy sauce so I should've ordered an extra side but that's my own fault. I also snagged a side of the smoked Mac n Cheese which was nothing short of delectable. All in all, everything was cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced for a good portion of quality Texas barbecue. I'll definitely be back! Don't walk..Run to Joe's Barbecue. You won't be sorry. read more

Sandwiches are huge and everything we've tasted has been amazing. Pulled pork, brisket and Mac and cheese are our favorites.

5 star is an understatement! This establishment should be allowed to be rated 100 stars! I've never tasted better than their pulled pork and brisket. It's just really really good! Soo much flavor into it, and really juicy. I also recommend their strawberry cheesecake. I'm not really into cheesecake stuff but trust me, this one is an exception, its really good! PS: Go early! Like 12-ish.. they sold out fast! Really fast! That's how good the food! read more
