Not impressed. I had a fairly tasteless turkey sandwich with lots of lettuce and not a lot of turkey. The sliced wheat was the best part which is a good thing because the bread made up the majority of the sandwich. I asked for Dijon mustard instead of mayo and I'm glad I did. The sandwich would have been more bland with just mayo. I had high hopes for this place but really can't see a reason to return. Mr. Pickles and even a deli sandwich at Save Mart or Raley's is so much better!!! I think they offered us our choice of a pickle, cookie or chips as part of the lunch combo. This place is not worth even trying. I ordered a turkey sandwich with avocado. They put two pieces of turkey, a bunch of crappy shredded lettuce and NO AVOCADO. The bread was gross. I would maybe pay a 1$ for this sandwich if I was starving. The employees should find another job because this place is going out of business. read more

holy moley! How have I slept on JJ's until now?? Very convenient next to other stores/places I frequent. Drive through is a bit funky/small but we were the only car, so not a problem. Went about 4pm on a Friday. Very friendly employee chimed in to take our order, I told him it was our first time there and we'd need a minute. 8 inch or 16 inch?? holy cow..well, it's nice to have extra sandwich so we got two 8's and two 16 inch. I got a BLT, I got a turkey tom for my daughter, my son got the new spicy something (number 7) and I got a beef/turkey (don't remember number/name) for husband. Very fresh veggies, loaded with meat/cheese. I guess there were more veggies we could have added but we left them as they come (added extra mayo) I ate half of the 8 inch and I'm stuffed (they put that much stuff inside!) The rest of the family is raving about their sandwiches as well. Great customer service (tip your servers!!) and excellent food. Pretty damn horrible. This sandwich makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X, if that makes sense. Just the blandest, dryest, most flavorless sandwich I've ever had in Modesto. Ordered an Italian sandwich which I thought looked like the best thing on the menu, since every other damn sandwich was either ham & something or turkey & something. Lemme tell you though, this Italian sandwich was so plain despite the fact that I asked for EVERYTHING. Bad experience! Came 20 mins to closing and my family and I were rushed out by employees on top of that my order was wrong. We were over two hours away from home and had to eat our dinner ASAP as the employees told us more than once that we had to leave by 9pm. read more

Ah jimmy johns. For long I have heard of this elusive sandwich shop of the east. Famous for free delivery and mediocre sandwiches, the concept of jimmy johns excited me. Nothing beats mediocre food that comes to me for free on a friday night I drank too much. Due to this, I have eyed this place like a hawk waiting for it to open. Obviously I wasted no time in trying them out. The actual location is pretty cozy with the staff being pretty friendly. Our cashier was pretty out of his element but that should be expected on opening day. The menu is surprisingly barebones with very limited selection on most everything. We ended up going for two of the larger sandwiches. Our total was about 17 bucks for two sandwiches. Kinda pricey imo, but if they are good I suppose it's fine. Sadly, that wasn't really the case. We recieved what looked like two logs filled with lettuce. My initial reaction was laughter since we got the double meat option. Good lord, I can only imagine what the standard meat portion is. After careful study, you eventually find a very small amount of meat hidden under the jungle of lettuce. The avocado spread turned out to be the real challenge. As we searched, an employee informed us it was there in the lettuce. Thanks? We found a very very small smidge eventually. Can't say we tasted it though. Now all of this could be slightly forgiven if they gave us bread. The phallic object that was holding our lettuce salad would be considered a weapon in most countries. I honestly would be more frightened of a man wielding one of these bad boys in lieu of a bat. The breads hard enough to crack open coconuts. It also doubles as being super thick. So we have this super hard bread, stuffed with lettuce and a thin layer of meat. Guess what you taste? That's right nothing! Who would have guessed flavorless bread coupled with crunchy water would taste not so good? Everyone besides jimmy johns apparently. Do yourself a favor and stop by literally anywhere else. No pickles available unless you pay! How can you not have a sandwich with pickles? The workers greeted me with a rehearsed bored look and seemed more interested in chatting to each other. Sandwich is good but not worth the price. Meat is very salty. Bread is tasty and unique.. have not tried delivery but they do make the sandwiches very quick.
