I was in town for the annual St. John's vs. Navy croquet grudge match, and after a liquid breakfast of bud light and champagne, I was starving. I passed several tables full of alumni snacks and was on the verge of turning on the charm when I spotted someone holding a Jimmy John's sandwich wrapper. If I was a dog (shush), my ears would have been pointing forward. I HAD to have that sandwich. So I pulled up the Yelp app, ditched my friends and scrambled towards Main Street, dodging townsfolk and tourists alike. The campus JJ's smelled like home (I used to cashier at one of the two locations in Gainesville, FL). It was also packed. The staff were extremely efficient at getting people in and out of the store as quickly as possible; despite a line of 15 I got my Turkey Tom within five minutes. Why the fixation? Simply put, the french bread is fantastic. Beyond that, the ingredients are fresh, there are a million combinations, the house chips are legit, and I love the snarky signs on the walls. $5 for an 8-incher isn't too bad a deal, either. I left JJ's cradling my sandwich like a football, and if it wasn't for my long history of friendship with Ellen S, I would have said no when she asked me to share. As it is, we both went back there for dinner (this time for my beloved Beach Club). I left my heart on Main Street.

They advertise their vegetarian sandwich as a gourmet sandwich with layers of provolone and avocado spread. I barely found any avocado in my sandwich and there weren't "layers" of provolone at all! The sandwich was mediocre, the bread wasn't that great, and the lettuce was browning. Seriously Subway or Blimpie would have been better. Skip Jimmy John's and find another place to grab lunch!

Just a routine Jimmy John's. I'd recommend the Italian, but all options hit home. Also, if you want delivery, I hear they're fast

This particular morning, they were offering a breakfast burger special: smash patty with bacon, egg, cheese, onions, jalapeños, and cilantro lime sauce. Their regular menu sells two different burgers: The Classic Double (lettuce, tomato, burger sauce) and The Retro Double (pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard). I opted for the retro double. The burger was good. It had a nice crust on the outside. There was enough ketchup and mustard on the burger to taste, but not so much that it's dripping off the sides when you bite into it. The fries were good. I wish they offered a bigger cup of them since they're almost $4. Burgers are $9.79, fries are $3.95, and drinks are $2.00. They also have merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and hoodies for sale. The employee that took my order was really friendly. I hope they make a return to the Crofton Farmer's market! I would definitely get burgers from them again.

Decent sauce. The bun is kinda meh. I think with the patties being so thin, the flavor is kind of lost in the mix of sauce and toppings. We didn't get any fries, but they look like pretty standard shoestring fries. The folks in the truck were friendly and got our burgers out to us relatively quickly. The prices aren't half bad considering how expensive things are these days. I admit I prefer a thicker juicier burger, but this place is A-OK if you have a hankering for a burger.

Great size, minimal filler, delicious taste...everything you look for in a good crab cake. I've also had their fries, fried shrimp, pickles, and Caesar salad. One thing, I'd prefer a little less onions and more meat. My boyfriend got the hot pastrami and inhaled it- five stars for that. We also both got a fancy milkshake, but because it was to go, it was deconstructed so the baked goods wouldn't fall off. I had the black and white cookie milkshake. To be honest the shakes are nothing special though they are good! but that cookie was unreal. It was massive, soft, and just perfect. Same comment for the strawberry milkshake- the shake was fine but the donut was amazing! It wasn't greasy at all and so satisfying. We'll definitely return, but would probably choose to get a sandwich and some baked goods next time (they all looked gorgeous!)

Lot's of mayo with very little celery. It was also lacking flavor. I wouldn't order that again. I was satisfied with the lobster grilled cheese on texas toast. Very good with the right amount of lobster. This was all ordered online and pre-paid. Parking could be a challenge. Luckily we came on a Sunday so it was less of a crowd. Found a spot to quickly pull behind just to pick up the food. Annapolis is a busy area. Especially on a Friday or Saturday. Just make sure if you order to go. That you pre-check your order. They were missing my chips but corrected the order immediately. So 3.5 for this visit and definitely would return for my lobster grilled cheese or the Connecticut Lobster Roll.

In addition to the lobster rolls there's several sides available. Complementary self-serve water is available. I like that the restaurant staff carefully prepares your order, not just slapping things together, even though that takes a bit of time. I ordered the Classical Lobster Roll. It was perfection and so delish. Served in a tasty lightly toasted and buttered bun. The hefty lobster serving comes with a dash of mayo. I'll be back again and again for Mason's lobster rolls. Love 'em!

Pip's is awesome!!…read more My go-to sandwich here is a Chicken Cheesesteak. Get it with grilled onions, red hots, cooper Sharp white American, lettuce and mayo... you will not be disappointed!!! Also, of course... a standard cheese steak is excellent. They now have Philly long peppers as an option (Anaheim) for cheesesteaks as Pip's stays on top of all the sandwich trends to bring them to you in downtown Annapolis! They have COOPER SHARP! on the menu for my go-to cheese choice. The dogs are great as well, but I just can't overlook a cheesesteak when I hit Pip's. This is an old school order at the counter place where they are shouting the order to the guy on the grill as you're placing it. Service is quick and don't overlook the call ahead ordering option! Sometimes parking downtown is annoying... call in your order. By the time you find a spot and walk to Pip's, your order will be waiting.

After the hype that has gone around for the last few months and number of assaults that have occurred in the name of said meal, I really expected more. Let's break down my analysis. The chicken: juicy, moist, fried to the correct temperature. The breading has little flavor and would benefit from having more crispiness. The pickle: zero crunch and lacking in flavor. The Mayo/ sauce: not enough to notice any addition to the meal. The bun: honestly the best part about the entire experience. It had a great spongy texture and had just enough buttery coating. When Popeyes put out a notice that they had run out a couple months ago but you could still have a sandwich if you brought your own bun, that was the biggest mistake in fastfood history. The bun is the sandwich in this case I had the rice and beans as a side which as always, delicious. Overall, I am giving this only two stars after going into this day hoping for at least four. I'll return to try the spicy number 9 meal but not until sufficiently inebriated.

To be honest, the kiosks were the most polite employees in here. Good thing too, as you rarely saw a member of the staff in here. I placed my order and just kind of stood there. I figured since I was waiting for my food I would use the facilities...but as you get to the door, you realize that you need a code to enter the bathroom. Luckily for me, a staff member was wiping down the tables and I was able to ask for the code. When I finished with the facilities, I came back out and my food was not ready yet. I wasn't even offered my cup so I could at least fill it up. Maybe they were going to fill it up and serve it to me when my food was ready. Since my order was not ready, I ended up finding myself a seat. Good thing I did too, it was another ten minutes before my food was ready. They were so slow in here preparing the food that a driver pulled up to pick up a delivery that they just left without the food. I feel bad for that person that ordered food. In fact, you can tell that they were more concerned with the people using the drive thru than they were with the people actually inside the building. I know that you need to be attentive all around, but ignoring one group of people over another doesn't accomplish this. When I did get my food, they automatically put my food in a to go bag, even though when I was ordering I said I was dining in. Nothing to worry about, but I did have to unpack the bag to eat. Food was on par for a Taco Bell, but service is seriously lacking here.
