Normally like these establishments. Maybe never coming back to any of them again after my experience at the Annapolis Mall location. There was one person in front of me. After an appropriate amount of time to let me know I wasn't important and I will get helped when I get helped. I was rudely told with attitude "what do you want " I felt like a burden like I was interrupting with my order. Then I was given soggy fries you know how you can taste that they're still kind of frozen. Soggy wet bread( felt like slime in my mouth) yuk !definitely not worth the attitude. I miss the old Steak Escape that used to be here. Main reason? Their fries were boardwalk-style. Whatever they have going on there now... it's not the same. Throw on as many toppings as you want, it will never beat the honest goodness of a properly made boardwalk french fry. The cheese steak was decent, though. I had the Bacon 3 Cheese version. Problem is, it's $9.99 for the sandwich alone (regular size). Wow!! That's quite the price hike from the olden days! I guess things change, but that's a bit rich for my blood... especially since it wasn't really anything "gourmet." Don't get me wrong, the cheese steak was fine. It was hot where it should be, and cold where it should be (meat, cheese = hot; veggies = cold). But, the fries were a huge letdown. The combo meal cost around $14 with fries and a drink, which... again... I'm sorry, but that's way too much for lunch. Okay, fine, I didn't leave hungry... even had a few fries leftover. But, that's not the point. There are definitely less expensive and equally filling options in the food court. I can't say it was a bad experience, though. It's just very underwhelming. Maybe I'm comparing it to what once was, but for the quality of the fries with the prices for everything, it's just not a place I'm rushing to go back to. read more

Excellent cheesesteak. The right white cheese, great peppers. The bun's slightly smaller in diameter than, say, a Subway or Jerry's sub, but it's really tasty. I also have their bacon cheese fries a try. Very good too- real bacon bits, but the cheese had a texture and taste like it was from a can. Not bad, just not ideal. Again, still tasty. Look, the food tastes good. It's a steak and cheese shop and that's kind of hard to mess up. My issue with this place lies squarely in the area of service and order correctness. I've placed four orders with this store using varying methods of receipt (DoorDash, UberEats, Picking it up myself) and I have yet to receive an order that was 100% correct. I know they're the new pretty girl on the block and they're busy as bees but it would go a long way to have someone that just verifies the order. read more

Food is good. Chicken cheesesteak has consistently been good. Their fries and strawberry lemonade are good. It's as close as a real Philly cheesesteak. Don't bother ordering online. It's never ready when you get there for pickup. They won't even check the screen until you arrive. I rated them 3 stars instead of 4 for this reason. With COVID being an issue it's important for online orders to be reliable. I've given it a few tries and it's the same issue every time. I went to Charley's Steak Philly Steak Cheese before the movie and it was pretty good. The cheddar bacon fries were tasty and the steak and cheese was made to order so it was hot, fresh and delicious. When in Annapolis Mall stop by and try The employees were very friendly and helpful. I'd love to give this place five stars... the food is great and the service is fast. The problem is one of the cooks is always tapping out a rythm with his spatula on the metal grill. I have been here twice in the last two weeks and both times I was surprised how good the food was. ANYPLACE that serves a Chicky Philly Sub is a homerun in my book. I have been looking for a long time for a place that serves this in the immediate area. Highly motivated staff is ready to take your order immediately and have it to you within 5 minutes. My suggestion is to get the Regular size, because the "special" did seem a little on the small side. I wanna say that this is about the 3rd or 4th different steak place I have seen over the years in the Annapolis Mall Food Court. I truly hope this one lasts for a while. THUMBS UP!!! read more

It should be flat out illegal to use the term "Philly Steaks" in your name for such a low-end attempt at a cheese steak sub. Realizing it probably wasn't going to completely live up to the name, I ordered thinking it would at least be better than the typical Subway type fast food sub. Wow - not even that good. The meat was something akin to a processed Steak-umm from the freezer! Papery thin, small and dry, I'm not sure I would have known this was even supposed to be a cheese steak in a blind taste test. The "gourmet" fries were most unremarkable. This is the kind of thing that probably makes people from Philly laugh their rear ends off - similar to how I feel when I see a "Maryland crab cake" outside of Maryland. I would be shocked at all the good reviews for this place but I realize an entire generation has now been raised to believe *Subway* is what a sub is supposed to be. Ridiculous. read more
