I gave Jiffy Lube another try after being disappointed with them in the past--and unfortunately it was the same experience all over again. I had switched to Valvoline previously and had great service there, but after moving to Spanish Springs I figured I'd give the local Jiffy Lube another chance. I checked in and was told I was next in line. I waited about 30 minutes while the truck ahead of me was pulled out of the bay and stopped just outside the front of the bay. After that, the employees just stood around the truck talking. No one came over, no update, nothing--despite the fact that I had already checked in. After another 10 minutes of waiting with zero contact, I had to leave for another appointment. (A total of 40 minutes waiting.) The real shock came later when I received an "invoice" by email showing that my tire pressure had been checked, my wiper fluid topped off, and a variety of items inspected--all marked "OK." The problem? No one ever even looked at my vehicle. At least I wasn't charged, but having a report auto-filled with services that clearly never happened says a lot about the lack of accountability and customer service. It's disappointing but also a reminder of why I stopped going there in the first place. Even though it's farther out of my way, I'll be sticking with Valvoline from now on. They've always been courteous, efficient, and professional--exactly what you expect when you trust someone with your vehicle. read more

Just had an oil change wanted to do air filter and went through all the gages before even going inside to discuss oil, made it clear from the beginning I wanted my air filter done. They pull me to the garage to discuss inside filter and because we already discussed it before work was done I declined because I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted it. Get in my Truck and it's not done. Talked to the same guy and he came up with a story that made no sense saying he would give me a good deal. He didn't listen to my request from the beginning and I left feeling disappointed and felt like I got the used car salesman experience. Today, my husband brought our truck into Jiffy Lube for a quick coolant top-off. While there, the staff offered to pump up our tires--something we didn't ask for--and ended up blowing the valve stem off one of them, leaving us with a flat tire. Accidents happen, but what followed was completely unacceptable. Rather than take responsibility or offer a solution, the staff told him to move the truck and essentially left him and our 6-year-old child stranded in the parking lot. No apology. No help. No accountability. When he asked them to make it right, the manager refused--no tire replacement, no support, no concern whatsoever. Just a dismissive attitude and zero regard for the fact that they caused real damage and left a father and child in a potentially unsafe situation. Very fast, usually in and out in less than 20 mins, but that speed turns into sloppiness if you check their work because they leave the splash guard for my oil drain plug wide open after I leave, it's just a piece of plastic that you rotate into place and should only take an extra second. They also way over-torque the plug, my manufacturer spec is hand tight, there should be no reason that I need to get a breaker bar when I want to do my own oil change at home. On my last visit, the tech asked if I wanted to replace my air filters and held up a very dirty air filter saying it was mine, the thing is I replaced my engine and cabin filters that morning, so it clearly was not. It rubbed me the wrong way so I won't be coming back. read more

I had a smog test done. I got lucky in that they weren't very busy. I was in and out of there in a "jiffy," and the price was reasonable. I have gone there regularly for a couple of years for smog tests and even when they are busier, I have never had to wait very long. I've never had them change my oil because I am a DIYer. Jiffy Lube is open until 6 pm on weekday. They got the job done, and when we were inside paying, we thanked them for providing service to us so close to closing time. I used a Groupon for an oil change and let's just say this place got the job done. I was there Saturday morning so I expected there to be a wait. I was able to get out in 30 minutes which was what I expected. The service includes checking air in your tires which was nice but they forgot to put the cap back on one of the tires. This prompted me to give them one less star since they could have been more attentive. The oil change itself had no issue. No leaks after the oil change. Usually I stay away from any Jiffy Lube locations didn't they're not known for the best quality. But, I needed mine done and it was the quickest at the time that day. Staff is friendly and greets you as soon as you pull up. They go over the different services and pricing. I need fully synthetic oil and they priced be about 65 for 5 quarts. There were 3 cars in front of me and the job was done in about 25 min. They go over what things they find during the service and ask if you want any additional services. You can usually get coupons for 10 to 20 off their oil changes. read more

I came in for an oil change. They said my coolant was low and needed to be filled. The next day the car was leaking oil. I took two pictures, one in the driveway at an angle and then one on the street with it level. When I returned they told me that it wasn't an oil leak that it was a coolant leak and that it wasn't their fault. They also did not replace three of the four caps on the valve stem and told me they didn't check the tire pressure. When I showed them on the receipt that they did check the tire pressure they told me they don't have caps in stock. They ended up taking three caps off one of their employees cars and putting on mine. They then sent me down to the Jiffy Lube in south Reno but since it was a Saturday they don't have any mechanics on duty. They did look at the vehicle and said that the oil plug was not installed properly and that coolant had been spilled which is why there was a leak. I have zero faith in Jiffy Lube and would never returned. read more

Twice, I have been charged for "parts" when I did NOT receive any parts. Both times I brought my own oil and filter. Last time, I caught the young service tech about to add air to my tires when the GREEN caps clearly indicate the tires are filled with nitrogen. After my telling the Tech that the oil change only requires 6.8 Qts when filter is being changed, he proceeded to add all 7 Qts., and ended up having to drain out the extra oil. Truthfully it is a shot in the dark taking your car into this place for service and I think the main problem is NO Training and NO Supervision......just a bunch of young, eager wrench turners who appear to not have a clue as to how to service a vehicle. Dealer service is not much better since the turnover is excessive. I'm guessing these young Techs are poorly paid and that is reflected in their lack of skill. Beware of how they torque your drain plug as they will over-torgue and that can ruin the threads on the oil pan. Don't take a seat in the waiting room; you need to watch what they do unless you, yourself are totally clueless about something as simple as an oil change. OH....new scheme is they tell you they are reducing us of "copy paper" and will mail you the "Invoice" so you really don't know what they charged you until you get home and print the invoice.............folks that is absolute FRAUD. New Year and the car says it it is due for an oil change. Jiffy Lube is like Starbucks, they are everywhere which makes it very convenient. They open at 8am, and that is when I arrived. I was offered water, and escorted to the waiting room while the oil change takes place. They pull up all the specs on your car and reccomend a oil, conventional, synthetic blend or full synthetic. They also pull your air filter and cabin filter to see if you want to replace them. Included in the service is checking fluid levels, brake, transmission and differential. They also inspect the serpentine belt for wear. They top off your windshield wiper fluid, check your air pressure on tires, vacuum inside of car, and wash exterior windows. They also check your wipers for wear. All this in 20 minutes, good job. read more

Went in for a standard transmission and engine oil change. My Honda Ridgeline had no leaks prior to coming in. Got back home after the work was done and then noticed 2 puddles under the car, one was transmission fluid and the other engine oil. Drove back there pissed off as anyone would be. Got told it was my oil pan and sorry not our problem. Car is old. Most of the dripping oil in my driveway appears to have been from spillage of overfill can't really say. Its been a week and the transmission fluid has stopped dripping but still have a small puddle of engine oil under the car. Brand new house with a unmarked driveway. NOT ANYMORE!. Oh and I forgot to mention the previous oil change was also at a Jiffy lube and that cost me a new oil pan because they stripped the drain plug. Guess I believe in giving second chances. NOT ANYMORE. I called because I had a oil leak which I didn't know I had and I was from out of town about 250 miles away, they said bring it in and will take a look if it's just the pan plug they could probably fix it which they did thank God and that's what it was. When I got ready to pay they said there was no charge go oh no I want to pay. They put a half a quart of oil which had leaked out in my Subaru Forrester and also filled the window wash. At any rate they treated us very good and I would've been willing to pay to have what they did knowing that my car was repaired driving 250 and some miles home. I took my car here for an oil change and brake fluid replacement. I asked specifically if they could reset the alerts for the service needed and was told yes, they would do that. Well, needless to say, they didn't reset the service indicators. So I went back the next day and was told they couldn't reset them!?!? They said I needed to take it somewhere else to have it reset. Ok, I paid over $210 for service and have to go somewhere else and pay for something they say they could do? Jiffy Lube on Los Altos Parkway came to my rescue today! I thought my car registration was due 2/23/21, but it was actually due today, 2/21/21! So I googled to see what was open on a Sunday that could do a smog check! Thankfully, Jiffy Lube was open and close to my house! I arrived around 10:30am. I was promptly directed to a spot in front of a service bay. I told them I wanted a smog check and an oil change. The technician took my information, explained my oil change options, the estimated cost, and how everything would work. He said it would take about 15-20 minutes. With COVID-19 restrictions, the technicians all wore masks. You can wait for your car in their lobby if you are wearing a mask, you can wait in your car, or you can hang outside. I chose to wait in my car. The oil change was completed quickly including topping off the coolant (small additional charge for this), an under the hood inspection, and tire pressure check. I was then directed to the side of the building for the smog check. The technician scanned my VIN and quickly completed the test. I also opted to have them complete the registration for a small additional fee ( to me it is worth it for the convenience). I didn't time it, but I didn't have to wait long and everything seemed to be completed efficiently. I headed inside to pay for my services and the checkout process was quick too. All the guys were super nice, and as a female who knows very little about cars, I never felt I was being taken advantage of for my lack of knowledge. The inside of the store and the service bays were nice and clean too. I definitely would recommend this location and would come here again. read more

I've been waiting to talk to someone for over 30 minutes now. Nobody has asked me what I need done. As a matter of fact, 4 people wake by me to check out someone's delivery truck but totally ingnored me. I've witnessed another vehicle drive away from having to wait so long. This shop is biennial good but not this week. This is my 2nd time here this week to try to get my truck smogged. This entire staff needs to be fired!
