    Jibei Chuan is nicely settled in the middle of Chinatown and we always walked by it wanting to try. We finally made it in and were really excited to try the golden broth as we haven't found this offered in other places. Boy am I glad we did. The broth is a mix between a nice comforting savory soup with a bit of pickled spice flavor. It was perfect with the beef and fish fillet. Those meat were cooked perfectly by the way. I was very impressed with how tender the beef slices were, and the fish fillet was velvety! We were able to share a bowl as the portion was large and for just around $20 with the extra meat we got! The only critique was that it was a bit too cold in the restaurant and they needed to warm it up a bit as the soup started to get cold. The service was quick, and I enjoyed the interior decoration. I can't believe we waited so long to try this place but we will be back soon enough!

    Came here spontaneously on a Saturday around 1pm and there were only three tables occupied. The two of us ordered the Minced Meat Dried Rice Noodles and Mini Soup Dumplings. The noodles came out not too long after and were exactly what I was craving. It had a little bit of spice but you could still appreciate the taste without being in too much pain. The soup dumplings came out after and were the perfect texture. Overall I was really satisfied with my meal and would definitely come back.

    Jibei Chuan is a rice noodle establishment. While they have other dishes, they are primarily known for their various rice noodle soups. The portion sizes are decently large, which means that you may have leftovers. I ordered the tomato ground beef noodle soup, and I had enough left for a small meal to go.

    I normally order via a delivery app like Uber eats and everything always comes on time and packaged nicely. My favorite item here is actually the tomato and egg dish -- it has the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity and just feels so comforting. The noodles are fine but lack a bit of flavor in my opinion. When dining in, service is very direct and to the point but things are clean and food comes pretty fast.

    I stopped by for a rather late dinner after a long day; Jibei Chuan was one of the few options open in the area around 9-10pm. There were actually a couple of other tables when I got there, but there were plenty of seats for me to take. While I was eating, they had a lot of people come by to pick up takeout orders - definitely busier than I'd expect at this hour. I ordered the tonkotsu soup with fatty beef (原湯肥牛米粉). The noodles were quite yummy, generally chewy without being too hard. The fatty beef was a bit overcooked (hard to chew) - the flavour was OK albeit a bit bland and salty. The lettuce was a bit annoying to eat since most of it was just the stems of the lettuce that was hard to chew through. The other ingredients like wood ear and onions were pretty average, and I also think they were lacking in some of the other ingredients typical for guoqiao rice noodles 過橋米線. I've been to another location of Jibei Chuan in NYC many times before so I figured it would be roughly similar, but it seems their menu and noodle bowls are actually quite different (this place seems to be more generic 米粉 rice noodles, not quite the specific guogiao rice noodles that the NYC locations have). The portion size was quite filling, and the price point was as expected (~$18 in total), which is pretty good value in today's restaurant environment. Overall, pretty good but nothing special. I think I'd prefer going to Shimiaodao or something for rice noodles if I'm in the area.

    Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner and the place was relatively empty at around 6:30. This was convenient as we were seated quickly and served pretty fast as well so service was pretty solid overall. The place felt really clean and the ambiance was on a the trendier, modern side. The noodles were really well-cooked in my opinion - I enjoyed the texture and the taste of the broth overall. Flavorful without tasting too overwhelming in any capacity. I wouldn't mind coming back for sure if I'm ever in the area - decent noodles, good service, not a bad price. Very central location in Chinatown as well so convenient to vet to as well!

    Ji Bei Chuan is a rapidly expanding rice noodle chain that started in China in 2018 (their website boasts over 400 restaurants there already) and has more recently expanded stateside, primarily in NY and CT. This small, bright place on Beach st is their first Boston foray and opened about a year ago. I popped in with my daughter and a friend and we were very impressed. --Sesame garlic noodles with tofu, very flavorful, medium heat from red chilis, this dish was my favorite. --Pork katsu curry, panko encrusted, crispy, tender pork, with a comforting curry sauce (not too spicy), and rice, delicious. --Signature JBC chicken noodle soup was a bit bland for me, it benefited from adding table side condiments like vinegar and soy sauce, but it is wholesome with plenty of Napa cabbage, black fungus, and chicken cubes on bone. --Brown sugar rice cakes were swoon worthy, hot deep-fried packets of chewy mochi served with brown sugar and ground peanut. Also the atmosphere is fun, bright, lively, good music, and nice staff. I look forward to returning.

    My family and I came to Jibei Chuan for dinner and were seated promptly. There is a QR code on the table where you can scan and place your order. We ordered Fried Crispy Pork, Tomato Soup w/ Beef, Golden Soup w/ Beef, and Pickled Mustard Soup w/ Pork Intestines. The fried crispy pork was not good at all. There was basically no meat as it was only dry, hard, and flavorless. Although there were spices on the bottom of the bowl, the meat itself had no flavor. Out of all the broths, the golden soup was the best. It was flavorful without being too overpowering. For those who prefer a more acidic taste to their broth, the tomato soup is not bad. I found the pickled mustard soup a bit lacking as well. The pork intestines were pretty good, but the beef was a bit mediocre. They did not have much flavoring. I did enjoy the number of vegetables and mushrooms present throughout the dish. I think the dishes could use more noodles personally, but the meal was not bad overall. Service was okay, but I could have used more water refills as it was relatively warm inside the restaurant. I will come back if I am craving a hearty bowl of rice noodles.

    My co-worker and I stopped by Jibei Chuan in Boston's Chinatown for lunch, and based on my own experience it was OK, I can see why. I recently dined there and ordered the Soup Dumplings and Pickle Intestine Soup, both of which were described as shown. Tasted pretty standard, I was expecting more flavorful. The meats texture seemed like it has been there for a while. Pickle flavor of the soup was spot on but orf course that's preference. The service was attentive, and the restaurant itself had a clean and welcoming atmosphere for Chinatown. While I only sampled two dishes but there are plenty more to check out. Jibei Chuan offered a wide range of delicious options with a picture menu from the QR code. Soup was around $15-18 just for lunch, so it was on the pricey side. Would try again to give it a second go.

    Since my last visit, the Golden Spicy & Sour Rice Noodle Soup w/Fish noodle soup has experienced a downgrade. The fish is now mundane tilapia fillets rather than the slightly springy fish maw. The soup is also noticeably less spicy. The price has not changed, still at $15.

    I've been here a couple times and it's one of my go to noodle places in Chinatown. It's very clean inside and there is a good amount of seating. They utilize the chowbus app which is really cool - you scan a QR code at the table and it will send a note to the kitchen and the staff will bring your food out in a couple minutes. At the end of the meal, you can scan the QR code again to check out and someone will come to your table and process your payment. The most recent dish I ordered was the pickled mustard soup with the intestines and that's probably my favorite dish of all the noodles I've tried. The soup is tangy and savory with a lot of different textures in the bowl with the noodles vegetables, and the intestine. For ~13 dollars this was a lot of food which is nice. There were other noodle soups I got before that didn't have as much flavor and was more on the watery side. Another item I tried was the brown sugar rice cakes. That was a great dessert at the end of the meal. The rice cakes are fried so they're crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They're also topped with brown sugar and soybean powder which adds a nuttiness to the dish.

    Newer soup joint in Chinatown. We ordered the golden pickled fish soup, the chicken noodle soup with fish belly and chicken with wood-ear mushrooms. This place is known for their healing broth, and I have to say, I definitely felt energized after eating the pickled soup. Is it a very unique & tangy broth with white fish, spicy peppers, herbs & raw garlic. I felt like this soup activated a part of my brain because I felt a tingling feeling above my eyes! It could have been the raw garlic. Regardless, I've never eaten a soup like that before and I highly recommend to those who are looking to try new foods and explore new tastes. We also had the chicken noodle soup with fish belly. It was the first time I tried that ingredient before. It's supposed to be very good for your skin. It's not the most appetizing texture, but it's ok. The chicken in both the soup and dish were good but very boney. Be careful when you chew because you will find bits of bone in these small cuts. The benefit of that is a really tasty broth. The lady who took our order was friendly and gave recommendations based on what we wanted to eat. And the table setting is pretty basic, but comfortable. The wallpaper is really cute, which gives a modern aesthetic. Each soup was about $20, and the chicken dish was around $15.

    4.5/5! Service is quick, and the servers are nice. BOTH savory and sweet dishes are great! I thought the broth (both fish maw and mala) had a lot of umami and seasoning, and the chicken meat was tender. The beef meat for the mala noodle soup didn't taste the best quality, and the noodles were just okay. But overall would come back for the desserts (already did!!) and fish maw noodle soup!

Almost every table ordered them, so they were all freshly made, piping hot. The bun was made with unleavened dough, making it chewy and refreshing, with a light, crispy bottom--not oily or hard. The meat filling was substantial and tender, with plenty of broth (see picture). It was sweeter than salty, incredibly umami. The chili oil was also very fragrant, and dipping it in Zhenjiang vinegar enhanced the flavor and cut through the greasiness. Shredded Pork & Preserved Vegetable Noodle Soup雪菜肉絲麵: The noodles were thin and round, with a soft, mushy texture. While the noodles were clearly machine-made, this isn't a problem in the Yangtze River Delta region; the issue was likely overcooking. The shredded pork were well-stirred, with tender meat, but the noodles lacked flavor. They had to be eaten with the pickled mustard greens雪菜 to be slightly salty, and the umami flavor was severely diluted. The tableware is all disposable, and tipping is not mandatory. They specialize in rice rolls with different fillings as well as porridge with a variety of toppings. We tried multiple items and I especially enjoyed the Shrimp Rice Roll! We also tried the Beef Chow Fun which was great and very flavorful. We also tried the Pineapple Fried Rice which was incredible! I don't usually like fried rice or pineapple but I really loved this dish--highly recommend. My friends also loved the Soybean Milk which comes out piping hot and sweet. Overall would definitely come back for a quick and yummy meal.

I came here during a weekday lunch, and it wasn't super busy. I would return again.

Lights in the dining room are much brighter, the inclusive flag is no longer in the front window, and the funky art in the bathrooms is gone. The management or something else is definitely different. The food was hit or miss. The sauce was overly thickened glop in both the chicken with garlic and the peppercorn beef special. Saving grace was our server who was apologetic and helpful.
