3.5/5 Noodle St. is located on my college campus and I definitely think its a great comfort meal for late night studying, but I wouldn't say it's the best thai food I've had in Boston. My favorite order would have to be the pad thai and the crab rangoons, but the fried rice and the pad see ew (if you're into it) are also solid options. We went here for a late lunch because it was right next door to the building we were touring at BU and we were starving. The service was great -- very friendly smily older woman who kept refilling our water glasses (it was a super hot day). The food was good too, with the perfect portion size for two very hungry women. I had the yaki soba noodles with chicken and while we don't remember the name of it, my daughter's meal was good too! The price would have been a little high to her college budget but was reasonable to anyone who isn't a poor college student at about $15/meal. Very good lunch!! read more

I was at the nearby Boston University campus to act in a student film and on my way back to my car, I decided to pop in for dinner before braving Boston traffic on my way home to Rhode Island. So glad that I did because not only was the food absolutely delish, I had to double check that I was still in Boston because the prices were so reasonable! I liked this place! We got drunken noodles, a noodle soup (I don't remember which one) and shrimp pad Thai. It was all a satisfying meal after touring BU and Berklee. We enjoyed it. The shrimp tasted fresh and slightly crispy and the noodles were very flavorful. The food came very fast, which we were pleased with and prices aren't bad at all! Our waitress was very kind and willing to chat with us. The location of the restaurant is convenient and it has a comfortable feel inside. read more

First time here and I was very satisfied! Based off some of these negative reviews, I was expecting to pay too much, be treated rudely, and be underwhelmed with the food. But I was NOT any of those things! Got drunken noodles with lo mein and pork and paid $15. Not bad for Comm Ave pricing around BU (you can easily pay that much at chain restaurants up the way). I had cash, so I couldn't use their online ordering tool (which CLEARLY lots of people were using, as they had a steady stream of folks picking up online orders in the 15 minutes I was there). I had to wait a couple minutes to order, but the worker was super pleasant and didn't mind that I was paying in cash. Honestly took no more than 10 minutes for my food to come out and I was on my way. When I got back to my office, I was very hungry and the meal did not disappoint! Probably the best drunken noodles I've ever had. Great flavor, just the right amount of spice, and left me full to the brim. Will definitely be back! read more

I was surprised to see this place only had three stars, I loved the dishes I ordered. I ordered pick up and was not disappointed. The portions were huge and not super expensive - I was able to enjoy my noodles over the course of three meals. I ordered the veggie drunken noodles with fried tofu and scallion pancakes with a peanut sauce. The drunken noodles were delicious, the fried tofu soaked with the sauce was an explosion of flavor. My only wish was it was a bit spicier. The scallion pancakes were crisp and I strongly recommend getting the peanut sauce on the side, the combination is great! read more

The reviews on Yelp don't reflect this, but I actually prefer Noodle St to Nud Pob for their Pad See Ew, the one time I tried both (in the same week too lol). The noodles were not broken up or over cooked, the sauce was familiarly sweet and salty, there was a good amount of broccoli and tofu, and all in all was a good portion size. I did find a piece of chicken in my vegan noodle dish though, which was very sad to see but I am not allergic at least. It got very very busy right at 12:15, but we were still served pretty promptly and service was good. All of my friends also enjoyed their meals, though the fried rice was noted as very spicy. All in all will definitely be back, though hopefully there is no more food cross contamination. read more

I got the spicy miso ramen and didn't like it. I felt that it was very bland. The pork was also over cooked and it didn't include an egg- I thought an egg was standard in ramen dishes? I tried my friends pad Thai. It was sooooo good. I will be returning here to have the pad Thai dish! The service was just ok, this was because they were very understaffed. I've been visiting Noodle Street on and off for 13 years, I realized recently. I don't live in the area anymore, but it holds such a sweet spot in my memory that I always go back if I am nearby. I went recently, and am happy to report that nothing has changed over the years, and the noodles are still top notch. I've eaten so many different dishes here, which is easy to do given the variety of their menu. You can build your own bowls, or choose curry, or (my favorite) the duck noodles! Have I had better, yes? Do I still come to Noodle Street, you bet I do. What I'm saying is that this place is by no means the best Asian food you'll get. Their menu is completely overwhelming and the space is sparse. Service is efficient and otherwise unremarkable. But they're reliable, and solidly good at what they do. read more

First of all, this place is not accessible, so it'll be a slim chance, that I'll return, but I happened to be without my scooter, with some time to kill before I needed to be at the BU Comm School, and food needed to happen. It wasn't a bad experience, I was just underwhelmed. The service was very lackluster, and the waiter I had seemed to have difficulty understanding what I was asking. I was pondering an order of crab rangoons, but the only thing they had on the menu was an appetizer with 7 (what a random number???) I asked if I could get less, and he said "no." No explanation, or other offer, just "No." How can I not get less? Just put less on my plate.... there's less. Then I log on here, and see that someone had a meal with just two crab rangoons, so I'm confused. But I digress. Not wanting to have anything to take home with me, I just ordered a small sweet lime soup with chicken wontons, and lo mein with crispy chicken. the noodles were ok, but super oily. The wontons in the soup were also odd and sort of chewy, but had decent flavor. Before I was done eating, people kept lurking to see if I was done, but when they had brought the check and I was done, my waiter was nowhere to be found and someone else cashed me out. Drunken noodle veggies only was just OK, nothing spectacular. Green curry with shrimp and calamari (just rings - probably frozen), didn't count the shrimp yet. Side of sticky rice is absolutely tiny. Oh the tiny $4.95 salad was about 6 oz. max. Was delivered fast by Uber Eats. Maybe try ordering something different? Also, to note, seemed zucchini was used as a filler in both dishes. In the curry, there was mixed canned vegetables added as you can see in the picture. There was also baby corn and bok choy, bay leaves. Idk I don't recommend this. Ordered in a rush. My bad. This place is a mix of Thai, Japanese and Chinese. They have ramen as well as pad Thai and drunken noodles, with the option of lo neon, rice noodles or wide noodles. A weird combination but it actually works. They also serve takoyaki which is always a plus. The flavor is pretty authentic considering the fact that it isn't in an Asian location. One meal is around $10-12 which is a downside considering it is on Boston University's campus. The pricing should be lowered for students. I found the food to generally very tasty although you are going to like spicy food to properly enjoy it. The service is good most of the time. Ocasionally at off peak times you might face a long wait. Otherwise they are friendly and great you with a smile. They have a pineapple fried rice which I love. Their ice cream is also pretty good although it had ice burns on it last time. They offer a 10% discount if you pay in cash - something that makes the tip seem much more affordable. The portion size is reasonable. They don't serve ice water which is annoying when it's 80 F + outside. Of you like A/C you might find yourself disappointed - the don't turn it up very high. On the other hand if you like warmer temperatures, you will love this place. The seats are not very comfortable and half lCk any cushions. It's a huge hang out for BU students. But unlike the college student stereotype, they are well mannered and respectful. You can order the out and get it reasonably quickly. All in all, a good place to eat out at. read more

This is my favorite noodle house to date! I stopped in because I couldn't resist the smell! There are many options for vegans and vegetarians. I got some help with my order from Auntie Pat and Sai. The restaurant is very clean and full of happy, satisfied customers. The options are limitless. The food is highly flavorful and fresh. I ordered the Pad Thai ZZZ, NS rolls and Kyoza. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is homelike and warm. I look forward to trying more options next week. read more

There is not much selection on Sunday nights in the BU campus area. Poor kids here, what do they do when the late night munchies (inevitably) hit? I got the entree with Szechuan style seasoning, white rice, and tofu. The dish usually comes with fried tofu but I requested steamed instead, and the staff easily accommodated my request. Well, the first cashier boy that greeted us cheekily asked for a tip to make the substitute, but the second older woman that took his place before we ordered made the change without complaint. The personalities here are interesting...the initial cashier boy also commented that I looked sunburnt from going to the beach earlier that day, but that I had beautiful skin, and the woman abruptly asked whether I was Japanese. I didn't mind the conversation--it was just random. The food was not stellar. I think I'm taking more of an issue with the extreme sweetness of Thai cuisine, and this dish was overwhelming in that respect because it contained pineapple chunks cooked with all the normal vegetables i.e. mushrooms, peas, carrots, squash, broccoli. It seemed like anyone with a bottle of concentrated store-bought sauce could replicate the cooking, and I don't use those Asian condiments to begin with. Pros: fast service Cons: expensive--my entree was not worth $11, which is almost what I've paid in the past at classier restaurants with better food. read more

First time I found out about Noodle Street was when i visited my girlfriend at BU and we ordered take out. I saw the NS Noodle Soup in one of the pictures on the menu and that looked good to me. I ordered the food not really expecting much, thinking its just another thai restaurant. The food took a while to be delivered but once i started eating my noodles, i got hooked. I love the flavor of the soup. I visited boston this past weekend and i knew i had to stop by NS for lunch. I didnt have any issues with the service and the food came out in a reasonable time. Once again i got the NS Noodle Soup with rice noodle, roasted chicken (the only way to go), and boiled egg. The NS Soup is simply amazing and packed with flavor. You could really taste the spices (cinnamon, cardmom, and star anise). The only way this hearty soup could've been more perfect is if they serve a soft boiled egg (like they serve in ramen) instead of a hard boiled egg. I also ordered the Tom Yum Soup. I think its one of the best i've had. Its sweet, sour, lemongrassy, and a light note of spices at the end. I might be wrong but from the taste, i think they use the NS soup as the base. Even if i had experienced bad service, i would still come back. I'm a happy camper once i eat :) read more

I have been wanting to try this place since last year, but I never got the chance. My brother took me there on Monday for a nice treat. The restaurant is near BU campus so I thought there might be a a lot of students eating there, but it is mostly professors or working people. Noodle Street is a cute place with big, open windows! I love feeling the sun shining on me while I eat. The server was quite charming. He was trying to tell us to eat rice in vietnamese (dorky, yes) but very charming! He was very attentive to our needs and wants to make sure that everything is okay. We ordered two appetizers: - Fresh spring rolls: tofu and veggies wrap in rice wrapper. I am not a fan because vietnamese spring rolls are the best! But if you are looking for a vegetarian option, this is not too bad. The peanut sauce was amazing! - Kui Chai: vegetarian fried leak dumplings. I love it! It takes like scallion pancakes that come in cubes, but my brother he hate it. For the main course, we ordered: - Korean Seafood Tofu soup: love it! but I wish that they would have soak the tofu in kimchi longer because it was a bit bland when I bit into it. - Chicken Pad Thai - she likes it but it was too "wet" For desserts, we ordered fried ice cream and fried bananas ---- IT WAS HEAVEN! I honestly don't remember the other two orders, but they told me that they like it. I love that you can customize the meals based on what you want. The price is pretty cheap! The take-out servers were friendly enough. The food itself was mediocre. I ordered some spring rolls (two to an order and they're HUGE). They were tasty, and the sauce they give you to dip them in is good. But the pad Thai left much to be desired. In my opinion it was too sweet. Like the entire dish left a sweet taste in your mouth and when I eat pad Thai I don't want sweet noodles, sweet anything. I could only eat a few bites before I started to feel nauseous. Not to mention, I ordered shrimp on my pad Thai and they only gave me 3 tiny shrimp for the entire dish. I was hungry and stranded on campus - don't think I'll come back anytime soon. read more

I used to get take out here a lot as a college student. Location and price were the biggest motivations. Right in the middle of the Boston University campus and satisfying entrees for under $10. After living in NYC for a couple years I went back and didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered. Could have been because Thai places in NYC are better or the quality has decreased in the past couple years or maybe I just didn't enjoy it that day.
