Every thing on menu looked amazingg but we loved their beef pulled noodles and beef with cumin. Best part medium spicey was just the right amount not too much to handle. Service was great and cant wait to back again!!! Place is always busy!!

I ordered a delivery from this interesting and unique Northwestern China and Uighur Halel cuisine. I had Lamb Shumai, Hot and Sour Cucumbers, Wood Ear Mushrooms with Chinese Vinegar and Chili Oil, Hand-rolled Noodles with Spiced Minced Beef, Salt and Pepper Jumbo Shrimp, Xinjiang Big Plate Chicken with Noodles, Sautéed Noodles with Cumin Lamb, and Sautéed Vegetables with Rice Cake. Generally, the food was quite good. The stand out dishes were the Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Hand-rolled Noodles with Spicy Minced Beef, and the Sautéed Noodles with Cumin Lamb. Clearly cumin lamb is the house specialty and I would advise ordering more of that, such as the lamb ribs or other lamb dishes. The hand-rolled noodles are excellent, as are the rice noodles. I would avoid the rice cake, but that is a matter of taste. I found the Big Plate Chicken to be tasty on top of the included flat noodles, but a little dry and not as good as the lamb. The Lamb Shumai is very good, also. Packing is excellent and delivery was fast. Highly recommended.

Stumbled across this restaurant on the way to another place but looked inside and wanted to try it! Service was prompt and had no wait on a weekday. I enjoyed the pitchers of iced lemon water since we had just went to a run club. Food was yummmmm and prices were solid, especially liked the lamb dishes although the ribs were very fatty. Worth the stop!

Great food, served fresh out the kitchen like fajitas. Lamb was cooked perfectly and the rice rubbed in the fond underneath was a delight. Reasonable price ($18) compared to some other things on the menu, service was straightforward. Will definitely be back again!

Delicious food and great service! All of the dishes were flavorful and the meet was perfectly tender. My friends dropped their chopsticks (lol) twice and the server noticed quickly to replace. We never had to struggle to get water refills or the waiters attention, which I'm finding is not that common in NYC. Prices were expensive for Chinatown but cheap for overall new york. The restaurant was not too crowded, but was buzzing enough where we could comfortably catch up!

I've been meaning to come here for a while because I love big plate chicken and there aren't a lot of Chinese restaurants in the city that I know of that do it (other than Spicy Village in Chinatown). I also love northwestern Chinese food and cumin lamb and wish there were more places like this in Manhattan. We of course got the big plate chicken and the stir fried cumin lamb and they were both delicious - super flavorful and slightly spicy. We didn't make a reservation and were able to walk in during dinner time on the weekend. Highly recommend!

So good! Came on Mother's Day so it was understandably busy, but the food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Service was fine--nothing standout, but no complaints either. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall gem I'd come back to. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Was seated quickly, the lighting is good and the food is very cumin-y :) As seen in the pictures, we ordered the BBQ Lam Ribs, the Noodles with Chicken, and the Sizzling Plate with beef. Everything tasted fantastic, I will say that the BBQ Lamb Ribs my favorite taste-wise, but I felt it was overpriced.

Great casual spot for Chinese food in east village! Got the big plate chicken and sizzling rice with cumin lamb. I liked the cumin lamb rice more personally because the cumin spice just went so well with how fatty lamb was

Steamed Shumai (Lamb or Beef) /

Didn't know a halal hotpot restaurant exists in Manhattan. You have to ask for the hotpot menu, otherwise, you'll get the regular menu. The min order for hotpot is $50 & it's not all you can eat. This place is also closed from 3:30-5 on weekdays. Anyway, we got steamed beef shumai (6pcs for $10) & sizzling beef rice ($16). The shumai is scalding hot, so beware unless you want a burnt tongue. This is basically like xiao long bao btw. It's good, I liked the flavor. The sizzling rice with beef has a very strong cumin smell, meaning it smells like armpit. Once you get over the smell, the beef is actually pretty good. It's flavorful. I just wish it had less onion & more beef. The beef to onion ratio is off. It was mostly onion with rice.

Hot + Sour Cucumbers. Very tasty with an excellent sauce

Located on St. Marks but not in the popular section between 2nd and 3rd, this is an excellent Northern Halal Chinese spot specializing in Xinjiang/Uyghur style food with a few dishes from other parts and a few Shaokao/BBQ skewers. I've been here twice with a group and both times we shared a bunch of dishes having lamb mostly. The food is well flavored with plenty of cumin of course. In terms of hot meat appetizers, the best of the bunch is the Lamb Shumai. They are plump and super juicy with plenty of meat inside. They come with 6 per order and they have the usual slightly sour sauce with them. Also tasty are the Lamb Buns which is the Uyghur version of samsa; a meat filled bun found all across Central Asia. The crust is a little bit different than samsa being almost more buttery and thicker but still tasty. Just like with them, there is plenty of meat along with a bit of cumin though I would say that they aren't as juicy as there aren't enough onions compared to some other spots such as Farida's. I would still recommend them though as they are still tasty and worth the price but the shumai are better. For vegetarian dishes, the Hot + Sour Cucumbers are tasty. The sauce has a nice sourness and a hint of heat with a good amount of garlic. If you like them from Szechuan places, you'll like it here. In terms of other veggies, we have also got the Shredded Sour Cabbage. The portion size was nice and similar to the cucumbers, they were lightly pickled and went well with the rest of the food. The Sizzling Glass Noodles With Cabbage is a slightly more filling version of the prior dish with a new texture from the noodles and were also tasty and would be a filling vegetarian dish. The Sauteed Shanghai Bok Choy was probably my least favorite of the vegetarian dishes being just a little bit too bland but the portion size was decent. For larger plates, the BBQ Lamb Ribs are the most expensive thing here but for good reason. The dish comes with plenty of large very meaty lamb ribs and is good for sharing. Otherwise on the plate, there's some chili powder, cumin, and salt for dipping as well as some pita on top of some lettuce. The meat falls off the bone and is extremely well flavored and I think 2/3 could share this along with another dish or two and leave happy. The Xinjiang Big Plate Chicken/Dapanji is also very tasty. This is available both in a smaller and larger size as well as with or without bone. The meat was slightly sweet with a good amount of cumin like most dishes and the potatoes in there were delicious as well having soaked up the same sauce. The only complaint compared to some other spots would be the noodles on the bottom which were fine but lacked some of the chewiness but this is a really solid version overall and an absolutely massive portion size. There have been a few other main dishes we have ordered such as the Fried Hand Rolled Noodles With Spicy Minced Beef from the northern noodle specialties section. Compared to the noodles in the other dish, these had a much better texture having good chewiness. There was plenty of beef on top but it could have been a bit spicier but the portion size again was good and the flavor was very tasty and I would recommend it overall. There was also one of the signatures, the Crispy Cumin Pancake With Lamb which was tasty. The lamb again was tender and the crispy pancake consisted of chunks of lightly fried bread with a good amount of cumin of course on top. Finally, the Sizzling Rice With Cumin Lamb was also tasty though I preferred the other dishes as I liked the texture more from the bread and noodles compared to the sizzling rice but again it was solid. In short, there are a couple definite standouts such as the excellent shumai and the food in general is just good. Nothing really felt like a throwaway which is rare for a menu this size. I'll go back here again either by myself or with a group to share more of their tasty menu. I can imagine them being quite more crowded if they were a block away but at least their location means I can always stop in here and get some excellent northern Chinese grub. Mid 4 for the general value and flavor.

The beef soup is clear and light and the noodles have a delightful texture, with a slight chew and good bounce. There's a good portion of braised beef as well. Tender but a bit fatty for my taste, but given the portion it's not going to kill you. Lamb burger ended up as overkill and will be consumed as leftovers but a quick sampling let me know that it's gamey and fatty with strong notes of cumin. Not a bad thing, but something to note for people that might not generally enjoy lamb or cumin. Black pepper beef rice bowl was solid too. Spice wise, you can calibrate accordingly but I'd recommended at least their regular spice level. Decent amount of tenderized but still chewy beef. Both dishes came with a salad of celery, carrot, cucumber, peanuts and seaweed strips in a light sauce. Couldn't quite figure out the sauce but it was lightly tart and refreshing. Space is clean and modern. Neutral wood, well lit. Service is friendly enough. If you dine in, you order at the kiosk and they'll deliver to your table. We had leftovers that they graciously packed up. Solid choice. I hope they stick around as they do bring a different cuisine to the area.

The Ahi Tuna was the perfect and proper color it should be. The flavors were SPECTACULAR-WONDERFUL!!! NOTE: WAGAMAMA has added to their menu, since my last visit, so you now have a RAMEN SELECTION, and other yummy additions. I was too full from my spectacular Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl to try the Korean bbq Chicken Wings ($8.95) but, I will definitely be back to try them!! I'll post menu photos so you have an idea of the delicious food choices. (April 2026) My very first delicious bite of Ahi Tuna had a heavenly garlic flavor, it was wonderful, and the sweet green seaweed with rice only added to the wonderfulness. Vertical slices of cucumber, onion and scallion, also add deliciously to my wonderful Poke Bowl. Toasted sesame seeds, too. SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!! Remember to be sure to mix the poke bowl rice as you eat, so that you mix the rice with the yummy sauce that may accumulate at the bottom of the poke bowl. I usually eat a little while, THEN, mix the rice. This was so good, I had to eat, eat, eat, before I could stop to mix. LOL. That sweet green seaweed was so yummy!! A lovely mix of flavors...the garlic, the sweetness....I LOVED IT ALL SO MUCH!!!! When was the last time you enjoyed a dish so very much that you felt like standing up in the restaurant and telling everyone: THIS IS SOOO DELICIOUS!!!! Well, I felt like that, but I didn't stand up and tell everyone, but I did tell the manager, who happen to come to the table to ask how everything was. And I let him know how much I was enjoying the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. He explained why and how the tuna was so flavorful. We had a delightful brief foodie chat. What a joy!! The service is very nice here. I like the atmosphere too. And the music, which is cool; it does not interfere with thinking, or having a conversation. I really like it here . The women's rest room was very nice, and clean, with a Dyson Hand Dryer, so no paper towels on the floor. Yay! Helping our environment, too!! And I like the black and white wall paper, too. See my photos My last visit I enjoyed the Pad Thai, and the same non-alcoholic beverage, " Asian Mint Limeade", from the MINDFUL DRINKS area on the beverage menu. ($9.50) (April 2026). A nice treat! It does have a light carbonation (bubbles). This visit my delicious meal was from the BOWLS SECTION of the food menu, it was the AHI TUNA POKE BOWL ($17.95) (April 2026) With warm, and hot weather on the way, I know I will be enjoying this AHI TUNA POKE BOWL again...and again! If you love good food, good service, and a very cool environment, put this location of WAGAMAMA on your list ! (East side) LOCATED On THIRD AVE, at East 39th Street. There is OUTDOOR SEATING, too, with red umbrellas. See my photos. Enjoy yourself here. Totally delightful. There are several locations in Manhattan. I did not know that. So, the one I have dined at is ON THIRD AVENUE, at EAST 39th Street. Look for the Red Umbrellas outside, at the corner of East 39th Street and Third Avenue. Enjoy!!!

We were guided toward the back, past white marble tables with beautiful mustard colored velvet chairs to the long countertop facing the open kitchen. We scanned QR codes to pull up the menu, and despite no omakase noodle offerings to be found, decided to stay because the menu options they did have sounded too good to pass up. Of course they had classic shio and miso ramens, but they also had a duck tsukumen, a red snapper ramen, a black truffle ramen, and the dish I set my sights on-- the uni mazemen. There were also lots of appetizers and a long list of high end onigiri featuring proteins like scallop lemon shio, A5 wagyu ponzu, and bluefin chutoro on offer. This place was the real deal. Our group shared the tebasaki wings-- so crispy and so flavorful, I could have inhaled a whole plate of these. The salmon, ikura, and apple appetizer that was served in a glass chalice was superb but even better was the bluefin tuna avocado sashimi with wasabi. That one was a winner across the board. And then my uni mazemen, which really stole the show. There was a very generous portion of uni that mixed with the savory sauce and al dente ramen noodles perfectly. This dish was rich, unctuous, and fresh and definitely delivered in value, though it was double the price of most other noodle bowls. Uni is a delicacy. Having just returned from a second trip to Japan I can say this place is really as good as any restaurant I visited in Japan, and it's right here in Murray Hill. These Murray Hill bros are lucky.

The hostess and our various waiters (they all seem to assist all diners) were all very friendly and welcoming. We love to try new things so we had to check out the Little Alley Pig Ear appetizer, and I also wanted to try the Shanghai Crispy Eel. For entrees the husband ordered the Eight Delicacies in Chili Sauce and I got the Soft Shell Crab with Rice Cake. Pro tip- their appetizers and entrees are hefty, with two apps and two entrees we were stuffed at the end. The food! The pigs ears were our favorite thing we tried- they well seasoned and so unique I've never had anything quite like it. We didn't read the menu carefully and were surprised it was a cold dish- I imagined the crispy was from being fried but it's just the texture of the cartilage! It's probably not for everyone but I really enjoyed the new experience and the flavor and spice were great. The crispy eels were also tasty, though with such a large portion split between just two people I found the sweetness of the sauce a bit much. I started dipping them in the chili oil from the ears and enjoyed that, but I'd still only get the eel again with more than 2 people to split it. For entrees the 8 delicacies was tasty, all the meat was nicely cooked and tender, and the sauce was pleasant. I wasn't super wowed by this dish compared to some of the more interesting things we tried but it was a solid well-cooked entree. The fried soft shell crab over the rice cakes was delicious and again a very unique experience. I found the sauce a tad sweet but I think I was still a little over the eel dish so I may have been extra sensitive. That being said, it was fun and delicious and I'd eat it again! I can't remember the cocktails we bought, I know they were good but the food definitely distracted us! Little Alley was great overall and I'd love to go back to try some dumplings; sadly we were just too full at the end of the meal!
