Lychee Limeade & Lao Iced Coffee
    Mary A.

Heard about the grand opening via IG, checked out the menu and couldn't resist giving them a shot solely the Lao style Khao Soi, which contains fermented bean paste - that is something you never find in Thai and near non-existent Lao restaurants. Avoided going during the grand opening day to save myself from impatience and annoyance from flaring up. It was kind of weird that some menus had items that were taped out with "sold out" and some menus without it so we didn't know what was truly sold out, if any. Ordered the Khao Soi and BBQ Combo with vermicelli (less pork & beef). The Khao Soi was the star of the meal! Flavorful, true to taste, and noodles were soft and silky. The vermicelli is traditional to what you'll find in Viet restaurants. Lychee Limeade was definitely on the sweeter side and my "lid" wasn't properly sealed so I couldn't poke the straw in without making a mess. Lao iced tea was strong, but almost resembles Viet coffee without the condensed milk sweetness. Owner and her daughter Diana were so sweet and friendly. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu, but I know the Lao Khao Soi will for sure continue to take the #1 spot for its authentic uniqueness you can't really find elsewhere... at least not in the bay. Picked up Spicy Chef Mike's Bomb Sauce. Initial dip taste has a really nice kick to the mouth. Can't wait to eat it!

Streets had a lot of double parked cars and many people waiting on their food. Some left and gave up because the wait was long. Due to their popularity, I hope they can become more efficient without losing the quality of the food. Onto the food: Got the Wednesday special with garlic fried shrimps and garlic noodles. They forgot the mac salad we ordered though. The dish was delicious. The best fried garlic shrimp I had. The pineapple sauce compliments it well. Very carb heavy, but such a good indulgence. The beef skewers with garlic noodles. My first bite of the beef skewers just hits right. The flavor was on point to what a Cambodian skewer should be. The lemongrass flavor was there. The fried short ribs were good. It reminds me of a Chinese salt and pepper pork chop or wings. Same flavor profile. Cambodian coffee was alright though. It was a mix of Thai ice tea and Viet coffee. The food was good even after eating it 30 mins later. I would go back to try their other Cambodian dishes especially the stuffed wings. Just gotta plan accordingly because the wait is HELLA long.

Cambodian Street Food, Oakland…read more I've been coming to this location when it was owned by Howard (RIP), it used to be "On Luck" Chinese food. He used to sell Dried Fried Ribs, Shrimp Fried Rice with Lobster Gravy Sauce, the classic Beef and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork, and so on. When Cambodian Street Food first opened up, they had a quiet grand opening. They wasn't sure how people would feel about serving Cambodian food in the area. I remembered stopping by after work and the Uncle or brother of the owner would give me a sample of Beef Salawmachu Kreung while I was waiting for my order of Beef Sticks and rice. Both of the entrees were so good, I came back couple days later and ordered their Beef and Prahok Sauce with rice. The portions were huge for the price and enough to share for two people. The aunties (chefs) are so sweet and friendly. I'm so glad to see that they have continued to serve Dried Fried Ribs on their menu! I've been coming here ever since! Given the fact that this place is located in the residential area, street parking is limited. This is a "To-Go" place although they have limited seatings outside, the seating area gets filled quick! Of course I definitely will continue to come back and support this local Mom and Pop's shop!! I'm so happy to see them thriving!!!! I Highly recommended!!!

I loved the flavor of the crab it tasted fresh and not too salty. The garlic noodles were perfectly cooked not too much garlic to the point your breath stinks. The orange sauce was sweet and yummy. I also love how it was given with salad and a flower. The young girl who took our order was very kind. Cash App and Venmo only. I can't wait to come back and try more.

I really don't have any special requests, just left it to sitha to create a menu for me and my family based on what's in season and for her to surprise me. Sitha delivered some food to our Airbnb in time for dinner . The menu: - kaw Trey saht chrouk beh Choun (braised fish and pork belly) -stuffed chicken wings kreung ( lemongrass paste ) -stir fry clams -haal Leah (Cambodian sun dried clams ) -raw bloody clams with prohoak ( fermented fish dip) -steamed rice I never had raw bloody clams before, it was a nice touch with the Cambodian prohoak sauce . The braised fish and pork belly was delicious , sweet/ salty and savory . With the crunchy cucumbers was the family favorite dish. Of course the stuffed wings continues to be our family must order when we have a chance .

Between the four of us, we shared a variety of dishes, including their Champa Wings, Nam Kaow, Lao Sausages, Yum Nom Tok, Champa's Fried Rice and Pad Thai. Of these dishes, my favorite was easily the Nam Kaow. This dish had so many layers of flavors and textures. I could honestly eat a whole plate of this myself and be satisfied. Every grain of crispy rice was fried to perfection and there was a wonderful sour and spicy tang throughout each bite. The other dish I really enjoyed was the Lao sausages. These sausages are packed with so many different herbs and spices. The lemongrass flavor was especially prominent. Like the Nam Kaow, this dish also went really well with the fresh mint and lettuce that's provided on the table. There's a good reason why this unassuming Thai and Lao neighborhood restaurant has a line out the door: the food is absolutely delicious. Definitely one of my favorite meals I've had in 2026 -- I can't wait to stop by again.
