I visited Sunburst Decorative Rock in Irwindale right off the 605 freeway for the first time…read morerecently. I was working on a gardening project and really needed some specific white medium sized rocks. I had already checked out Home Depot and Lowe's but their prices were way too high for what I wanted. The people working there were so nice and helpful. They did not try to upsell me or make me spend more money than I had. In fact they did the opposite and helped me find something that was very economical for my budget. The place is impressive because they have a huge yard filled with all kinds of different rocks. They have everything from volcanic rocks to ones that look like they belong in Red Rock. They also have huge piles where you can haul rocks away in a truck for larger projects. I could not believe that they even sell giant boulders there. This is definitely my new favorite place for any rock or gardening projects. I highly recommend checking them out if you want better prices and a huge selection!

Fast forward after the job was done and court appearance for shoddy work, I had to hire someone else to come in and fix what they had done. Plants that they installed died within months of being put in the ground. Landscape professional that I hired to fix their problems told me "you get what you pay for" I spent another $15000 fixing what they did and what I was promised by the husband Couldn't be more true....avoid avoid avoid....You would have better luck doing it yourself with half the cost and headaches... The neighbors probably wondered if anybody lived there anymore-- and they were on the right track... With no time to do the yard work myself and no referrals coming through, I rolled the dice and called Tierra Verde. My luck had otherwise ran out, but any luck I had left found the kind, caring people at Tierra Verde. They are wonderful and professional. I am so pleased with the yard now. It looks terrific, and it only took them a couple days to come through with fabulous results. They even did me a favor and hauled away some junk in the yard along with the massive amounts of asparagus fern and dried weeds. My fruit trees are beginning to get healthy again, and the roses are pruned to perfection. So, sorry petty criminals of SGV. You'll have to find somewhere else to hide. Why would I give you that so you could put my dimensions into your software and in 5 minutes you'd have plans. He wouldn't even give a ballpark for what the project would cost. Call someone else. While Erica is great at her job and he response was fantastic from her business perspective it doesn't change the facts. If my budget was 5k why would I give you $1250 to plan a backyard that will take 40k to complete? Not logical. Had the company said they could come up with a plan in a specific budget that would be more reasonable. But to just throw money into some plan that could be five times our budget is ignorant.

Her prices are reasonable, but her knowledge and experience made her our overall choice. Crystal was always available and patient with us throughout the process. Sometimes we would email her late on an evening or Friday, expecting her to respond the following week. Instead, she would respond that same night or during the weekend and offered to jump on a call if we still needed clarification on something. Also, she explained that with the set price for the landscape design and drawings, it would include any revisions that our city deemed did not meet their requirements. However, our city chose to reject the plans a couple of times because the city did not follow their own requirements. Crystal made the revisions to our plans at no additional cost, and we were extremely grateful for her generosity. We hope that when the city finally approves our plans, that we can work with Crystal to complete the project as well. My wife and I had a great experience working with Crystal and can trust that she does what she says and will go above and beyond your expectations like she did for us. We highly recommend Liu Landscape to anyone looking to start a landscaping project.
