First appointment was rescheduled they forgot they were closed for the holiday Second appointment was told they knocked I wasn't there me and the dog were up and waiting both of us never heard the knock. Third appointment asked to have a call from the service man on his way over to let me know he was coming. No call but did show up. Said he drained the system and I'm good Togo. I'm guessing he didn't test it Cuz I wasn't good Togo. Fourth appointment stressed to the appointment maker that I must receive a phone call letting them know they were coming as I was given a 4-5 hour window when they would be coming I was assured that I would get this call. I had to run out for 20 minutes that morning and of course he showed up then again with no call. Ask pointman Setter who was trying to set up a fifth appointment why I did not receive a call was told I'm not sure why it was clearly marked down. Fifth appointment (Never Schedule) I just watched a five minute YouTube video and fixed it myself. Overall poor service and not clear communication between office and service. Horrible experience on more than one occasion. This is the company that American Home Shield continues to send out when you complete an online request or call in for service on an item in your home. The furnace had an issue in the winter time. The technician came, looked at the heating system and said, I can fix it, but have no tools and it needs a part. The parts they ordered took 3 1/2 weeks to come. We went without heat for almost 4 weeks total in the middle of the winter. The HVAC system was not cooling the upstairs, only the basement. The technician called at 10 am, was scheduled for 1 PM to say he was 10 mins away and would be earlier than anticipated. I explained I was not home, but my husband was and would be at the door shortly. When he arrived my husband was sleeping and did not open on the first knock. The technician called me back and told me to reschedule because he was unable to wait 10 mins for me to arrive to let him inside the house. My husband came to the door as he was walking off and telling me I had to reschedule. The technician's name was Jerry, he looked at the system for 10 mins and wrote on the form "nothing wrong with the unit working properly." Meanwhile the thermostat is still reading 86 degrees in our house and its burning up in our house. I immediately called AHS, and they recalled the service and sent the exact same place and technician out. This time, he wrote on the paper, nothing wrong with the unit and AHS should request a second opinion from another company. The second visit my husband had to make him look at the outside unit, inside, etc. He did nothing except use a flashlight, look, and left within 10 mins. After speaking to AHS, the technician did not arrive at our home the second time until 12 PM, but reported to AHS at 11 AM that they have arrived and the service was completed by the technician. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

No lies. Everything stated was true. Almost KILL our entire family by releasing CO into the house. Terrible terrible service! Never picked up the phone. Terrible in everything!!! Giving one star is even being generous. If you want to risk your life, hire them. Almost got killed by their so called "senior technician". They came to our house four times and claimed they fixed our furnace. However, you can smell oil all over the house and the temperature won't go above 50 degrees. Worst attitude and don't have confidence in what they are doing. We ended up hiring a second company to do the repair and they said we almost got killed because there is CO leakage and we are lucky we are still alive. The technician was also very professional, and friendly. Showed up on time and not only did he fix the problem he explained what was wrong, and gave me helpful tips to try and avoid other issues like the one I had from happening again in the future. Home warranty company sent these guys out. I feel like it's a scam. My heat went out for the 4th time this season and it's mid-January. Everytime there is an issue the warranty company hits me for a 75$ deductable. So far these guys have been out three times, and only once did they actually replace a part. On trip # three the tech said there were no notes from the previous jobs. He said he found a connector unplugged on an electrical board and that was the problem. Here I am 13 days later with no heat again. I would not recommend this business. They don't seem to actually care about replacing or fixing anything. They seem to somehow always get the system running again only to be ready to charge me once more when it dies in a few weeks. read more

Purchased my home in November 2016. The heat pump worked well until mid February. Fast forward to May. My wife turned the AC on and we realized it didn't work. I contacted HSA home warranty service and they send out a JG tech. He related the compressor was shot (it's a 20 year old system). He related that on top of the $100 service fee I would have to pay $300 in parts since they need to modify the system to make the new compressor work. I agreed to the service. They converted the system from R22 to 407C. My wife and I came home from our honeymoon to find the system working great. Fast forward one week, we hear a dripping sound. I check the system and it's froze over. All the lines have ice on them and the coils were a solid sheet of ice. I called HSA to put another ticket in. The tech comes out and claims that the original tech did not put enough freon in the system and that the system was low. I explained that in a closed system freon doesn't disappear unless there is a leak. He related he checked for leaks and there wasn't any. I then discovered the thermostat wasn't working and brought it to his attention. Without hesitation he changed it. The system worked fine for 12 hours. After hour 12 the entire system froze up again. I just so happened to have an HVAC company out to give me a price on replacing everything. The tech looked at the system and felt the lines and related that the system has a leak. I called HSA and waited 1 hour (not exaggerating) to get a live person on the phone. They reopened the ticket. Next day I heard from JG services they wanted to send somebody out 5 days later. I related we are in a heat wave that is unacceptable since this is there fault. Finally the dispatcher related he will have somebody out on Thursday (today). I will update this when they come out today but so far this company seems inept to solve basic problems. I think they are in the business of putting bandaids on the problem. We shall see. read more

Serviced Gas furnace 12/8/2020 I am absolutely pleased with the services provided by these guys. My gas heat stopped work I called American Home shield and these guys were contracted. Within 2 minutes of AHS putting in the work order JG SERVICES contacted me via text. The responses were quick, polite, professional and understandable and to top it off the had an availability that very same day I than told them I loved them lol I was so happy man. The technician arrived on time and was in and out like superman, literally im a sucker for good customer service and these guys were nothing short of great. We were given a consultation with JG Services through our home warranty after a previous company failed to fix the problem. Unsure of what to expect, we went into the consultation with low expectations. The technician Jim was very knowledgable and knew immediately what the issue seemed to be. He had to get approval to complete the job which he said could take a few days. In the meantime, he did a quick fix to get us through until he would be able to come back out. We got approval the next day and Jim was able to come out immediately after. Three days after the initial call and our hot water is hot again. Jim was great and explained what he was doing as he did it. He was courteous, clean, and friendly. I highly recommend JG and technician Jim was great. Easily give them 5 stars. read more

Horrible, horrible experience. Was contracted by American Home Shield of course. The gas company had found a leak in our furnace; I listened to the meter go off in two spots. This guy showed up and his meter showed no leak. I asked him about the difference in equipment. He didn't want to talk, didn't want to answer questions, would not explain what he was doing, handed me the documentation like his hand was on fire and he couldn't get out of the house fast enough. I am led to believe that either AHS is paying off this company to not find anything, or the employees are treated SO poorly that they hate what they do and are perhaps penalized for explaining anything or spending more than 5 minutes in the space. read more

JG Services replaced our heating/air conditioning this winter (via HSA Home Warranty) when our original one finally tanked. Last week, we tried the air conditioning for the first time and found that it didn't work. JG Services has no hours on weekends for emergencies, so they were unreachable until Monday. However, when we did get ahold of them, they came out quickly, figured out the problem (that they had not updated the wiring for a variable AC unit), admitted this was their error and did not charge us for the services (including that they agreed to refund the $100 HSA fee for the consultation), which will be completed later this week. I was impressed with their professionalism and attention to the problem. Now just have to hope the AC will work! read more

This company was assigned to me through my home warranty. They responded quickly and then took my air conditioner apart and did not put it back to working condition and never came back. I called and texted them so many times. They put our diagnosis in to the insurance company as needing freon. We knew we would need freon becauase they drained our freon to do a leak test but they never put in a diagnosis on the Evaporator Coil they told us was broken. DO NOT USE them, very unprofessional and literally left our air conditioner not working, never to return! read more

JS was assigned to my HVAC issue through my home warranty company. I received a text from the firm very quickly, described the issue and the tech came out the next day. He determined what the problem was, ordered the part and said we'd hear as soon as the part came in. I texted the firm the next day to see if it was possible to expedite the part as we were without heat and the fellow got back to me and said he'd done so and the part would be in that week instead of the following. At the end of the week, the part was in, the technician came out, and our heat was back working within half an hour. My experience with this firm was excellent. I'm sorry to see some negative reviews mixed in with very positive ones. Hopefully whatever led to the problem situations has been resolved because I'd sure like to use this firm again. Follow-up: We had a second, unrelated issue with the system. The tech diagnosed it when he was here to fix the initial issue and returned the next day with the parts for the second issue. Sure enough, problem solved. What was really nice was that he was really pleased that he'd diagnosed the cause of a rather obscure noise and when he replaced the related parts, he wanted my wife to go out and listen. Justin was friendly, professional and all-around pleasant. He even accommodated us when we needed to leave the house for 30 min for school pick-up: took the time to go get the part needed for the repair, then promptly returned and finished the work quickly. waited a week for the them through American Home Services and when the tech arrived put gauges on unit saw no pressure in unit and walked away saying they had to leak test and would return in another week. We explained the unit tripped breaker but would not investigate further. We had a friend look at the unit and found compressor defective. Edit - they made it right and came back out to fix the issue. I worry about the customers who don't advocate for themselves. I appreciate that Chris (the technician) was good-humored about having to come back. We had a heating emergency over this past weekend and immediately filed a claim with our home owner's insurance company (AHS). JG Services is their preferred provider. Since it was a weekend and JG is not open on weekends according to their voicemail, we contacted Horizon services who came out and gave us a quote. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be a quick fix so we decided to just keep the open ticket with AHS/JG since nothing could happen that night anyway. JG contacted me on Monday morning (today) to offer the 10am - 2pm time frame; which I accepted. The technician was here on time and got the unit running, I paid, he left. This only lasted for about an hour. I had to call AHS to reopen the ticket. Once I got confirmation that the ticket was reopen, I called JG to ask them to come back out. Once again, nobody actually answers their phone. I texted somebody named Matt (the person who texted me originally to set up today's appointment). He offered the "next available" in two days. My house is 51 degrees and the only reason I am still in this position is because obviously his tech didn't do what they were supposed to do when they were here this morning. I responded that Wednesday wouldn't be acceptable and they need to come back today. I stayed home from work today, paid the fees, and have been sitting in a cold house all day because somebody from JG didn't do what they were supposed to do. I am not subjecting my three kids to being in a cold house for two more days. Matt has not gotten back to me and their business closes in less than half-an-hour. It looks to me like he's just avoiding providing customer service and doing the right thing by his customer. I'm also reporting this agency to our home owner's insurance agency (AHS), the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the PA Attorney General (they have personnel who work to protect consumers from shady business practices), as well as to the various local media outlets who cover stories about shady "professionals" who take money and don't do the job. It's absolutely disgusting that this company wouldn't stand by their work and do the job right the second time (since they obviously didn't do it right the first time). Was assigned to this contractor through my AHS Warranty company. MY A/C died in the middle of a heat wave. I called late Tues. Contractor got back to me within hours and scheduled me for Thursday morning. Understood that they would be swamped since we were in the midst of a a 9 day heat wave and lots of people lost their A/C. I have a friend in the HVAC business who had helped me diagnose the problem - I knew I had a defective blower wheel, at a minimum, possibly a defective blower wheel and motor. I gave this info to the company owner (including the model/serial # of my unit). The technician arrived at my house with the parts. It turned out that the problem was only the blower wheel and not the motor. The technician fixed it it quickly and made sure the unit was running well otherwise. The technician came within the 3 hour window I was given, and I was notified by text when he was in transit. Communication with the owner was outstanding. I greatly appreciated the effort they went through, and the trust they placed in me, to pick up the parts I identified and to come with them. They said if I was mistaken they would return them, but this would enable them to fix the problem right then if I was correct (which I'm happy to say I was correct!) So thank you Matt/JG Services, and AHS Warranty as well! read more

Terrible company - Do not hire! Our homeowners sent them to fix our heat pump. First guy they sent was solid, identified the issue and we made plans to fix it the next week. Next week they send another guy over who we thought was there to fix the problem. He showed up with no idea why he was there and appeared completely stoned. He was unprofessional and rude to my wife. He spent three times as long as the first guy to identify the original problem and was clearly not there to fix anything. He then dropped and broke the face of our Nest thermostat. We didn't realize it was cracked until right after he left. JG has since refused to return our calls, let alone pay for the damages. Seriously, do not hire them. read more
