Technicians used only a screwdriver in testing my system. It is not getting voltage to the contactor on the condenser unit. They told me the $200 dollar board was bad when the actual problem was a $35 high pressure switch. A simple use of a multimeter to test voltage would have shown the board is fine, then a test of continuity on the switch would have shown it is broken. Was very disappointed in the bad service. read more

I had my dryer vent cleaned by Dean and his guys. They were very fast and professional. My vent is on the 3rd floor so it required a 40' latter. They were able snake the entire vent pipe, which is about 30'. Clothes are drying much faster. I highly recommend Dean's Service. read more

Three things: The ac unit in question is a 10,000 bcu, 80lbs, rather large unit. It is twice the size the previous unit I had in my window. So, it is completely false that my unit was too small for my unit. Secondly, the techs only had a broken two inch beam in their truck. They mentioned to me twice that they didn't have anymore more wood in the truck and if I had any. I will take a picture of the wood they left in my next update. As I mentioned before even wanted to use cardboard to build a support for this "supposedly" small ac unit. I objected to the suggestion that they wanted to use cardboard. Guess what happens when cardboard gets wet??They never offered to return the ac unit for me. They told me call them when I get a smaller unit. The owner, repeated requested for me to remove my review for me to get my money back. They left voicemails saying the same exact thing. Which is completely against Yelp's Terms of Service. I did respond to their emails and guess what here is the proof! He claims he sent out a check reimbursing me. If it comes, great. But I completely refuse to take down my review. And if he wasn't telling the truth about my refund, then he will deal with my bank. Plain and simple. I would have been happy if they just refunded me the money and not ask me to remove my review. When I refused to take down my review, they stopped replying to my email and instead posted this nonsense. Instead of being honest, admitting their mistake, and just refunding me. We had a great experience with Dean's Services. We scheduled an appointment to have our vents vacuumed and our furnace tuned up. Daniel and Johnny did an excellent job! For the vacuum portion, they advised some additional scrubbing, but helped us keep the cost down by assessing which vents were most in need of additional work. Our HVAC system is fairly old, but we haven't had any problems yet. That's why we were surprised when a previous company we had hired to come on site for a tune up advised $2,000 of repairs after only a cursory glance of our system. The technicians from Dean's Services took the time to thoroughly inspect our system, and after a deep cleaning, said we were likely to get another 2 years out of it without all of the costly extras. Was so appreciative that the team was able to come out within 2 days. Having had recent construction and carpet removal, it seemed like the right time to finally get a vent cleaning. There was a flat fee for the vacuuming and I already assumed we would need to go ahead with the extra "scrubbing" which costs extra per vent. I had no clue about how many vents we actually had, in our 2 stories it ended up being about 10 that they scrubbed, they skipped a few that didn't need it. TLDR: Would not recommend. Charged in full for services not performed and other services not performed appropriately. Unresponsive to requests for refund I asked Dean's service to come help me with an AC Tune Up and a dryer duct cleaning. I ended up with significant issues with both. 1) Dryer duct cleaning - Dean's service said they were unable to find the dryer vent in our house despite our explaining where it was (our neighbors have a mirror image home and showed us where there's was). They went so far as to suggest there was none. They charged us in full for the cleaning $400 and did not find it nor clean the vent. We called a different company the next day and they were able to identify and clean the vent without issues. I spoke to Daniel about this, and asked for my money back. He told me he couldn't give me $400 back which was disappointing but could give me $400 in any free service in the future. This was not what I wanted to hear, but I accepted the offer given they were kind about our conversation. Next the AC... 2) AC tune up - They came to perform an AC tune up in April (the same date as the dryer vent cleaning) and said everything was in working condition. Unfortunately, as soon as it got warm, I found it wasn't working. I called them back and they came and said the coil was filthy and needed cleaning ASAP. I asked why this wasn't noticed during the tune up, and Daniel said it was must have been missed. Again, I gave the benefit of the doubt. I asked that this service be considered the free service I was promised above, however Daniel now wanted to only offer $150 discount rather than $400 and did not offer any additional discount for not noticing the problem during the tune up just a few weeks prior. Daniel said no, for reasons that were unclear to me given he had promised that I could have a free service. Turns out, my AC still didn't work after this service. There was a major leak in the AC unit requiring complete replacement of the coil. We had this correctly diagnosed and treated by another company just 2-4 days after Deans Service came out to clean the coil. All in all, Deans Service has failed each time they have attempted a service at our home, and despite this have charged us in full. I have asked that they make it right with a refund for at least a portion of what we have spent with them, but have been met with no answer. I was trying to avoid posting a review but have no other choice as I have not been able to get in touch with the owner despite multiple attempts over one month. Two stars for Tyron's kindness and for their ability to come out quickly. read more

I was looking online for a good company to work with for HVAC and found a good amount on Yelp. However, I saw that two of my friends had left positive reviews of Dean's online, so I decided to reach out to them. I knew I needed them to fix a gas leak near the heating system, and figured they could take a look to see any other issue as well. The representative had told me that there's a flat fee for someone to come out to take a look, but that if we have them do the work, that fee is waived. A technician came to the house while my wife was home, and he fixed the gas leak pretty quickly and recommended that we get the AC unit cleaned. He gave us a breakdown of the cost of each item, and the price for fixing the gas leak seemed pretty steep. He then told us that he would waive the consultation fee for us to help us out... which seemed shady since that's their company policy. Anyway... We scheduled the cleaning for a day or two later and all was well, until I got a call the day we were supposed to have the cleaning, saying that the crew was stuck elsewhere and wouldn't be able to come, so we had to reschedule. We'd already paid for it, but we were pushing it out, and my wife had basically wasted her evening waiting for the crew. My wife called again, and to their credit, they threw in a free dryer vent cleaning for our trouble. They did come for the service when scheduled, and from that point on, it was a really positive experience. The two guys who came were great about letting me know what they were doing, and were very friendly as well. They explained everything clearly, and the AC replacement was fast and reasonably priced. They even made arrangements to have the old AC be picked up by a scrap guy for disposal. Dean's Service has provided the best service, communication and experience I have ever had from an HVAC company. We recently had an issue where we needed heat but only cold air was flowing flowing the vents and after attempting multiple attempts at some quick fixes, I realized it wasn't something more than a basic fix was going to correct. I contacted Dean's Service to see if there would be any available appointments in the next week or two - Daniel answered my call (which is awesome that I didn't have to leave a voice mail), we discussed the issue and he provided me a 2 hour time slot that he would be able to come to my home for the service the SAME DAY I called in for service!!! WOW!!! I got a call about 20 mins into the 2 hour time slot from Dean's Service letting me know that Daniel might be running a little late from the 2 hour window and he would contact me when he was on his way - which was incredible as I truly appreciate any and all communication so that I know what is going on and can plan my day. That is great customer service right there! Daniel showed up before the initial 2 hour window was over and was courteous, fun to talk with and he went right to work on the service. He performed the service, found the issue and got our heat flowing again - very quickly. The gentleman came out to my house and put a machine on my ac unit outside and said it was the condenser and I needed a new coil and condenser. He didn't bother going into my attic and checking to see if it was the coil upstairs in the attic. I found it from two other AC companies as the evaporator coil in the attic. I recently purchased a home and was not aware of the last time the air ducts were cleaned. I am very grateful that I contacted Dean's Service becuase after looking into my vents with their cameras it was horrible. Technians Ben and Erez were very clean. When in the house they always had their protective shoes boots on to protect my floor. Ben explained things to me in detail so that I had comfort level of work being performed. After work was done I was able to go back into the vents via their camera and now see clean vents. I am very pleased to know that my family is breathing in air that is no filled with lent for my vents. They were extremely fast to respond and prompt in sending guys out. That's the good part. But when it came time to get me a quote, they told me "you should check with your husband before making a decision." I never mentioned having a husband... because I don't have one. Also it's 2018. I should have just shown them the door this point, but I was too taken aback. I asked them to get me an estimate for me to review so I could get a few more quotes and get back to them, especially because I'd just bought the house and figured I could contact the seller about the brand new HVAC system. Dean's Service had quoted me at least $500 just to diagnose what they suspected was a leak, so I thought I'd give it a shot before spending the money. They said they'd get back to me within 48 hours. It's been over a week and I haven't heard back from them. Good news is that the seller brought his own HVAC guys over and everything's fixed now (there was no leak after all -- HMM!) Part of me is relieved, because I don't want to give sexists my business. But it's still insane to ignore customers like that. read more

I thought I needed a coil cleaning due to a drip in my condo leaking into a downstairs unit - Angelo came out ASAP and inspected my HVAC and let me know that I did not need that service. Anybody could have taken the opportunity to "clean" the coils and charge me - so I appreciate this. He then diagnosed the problem and we made an appt for the following Tuesday to fix it.
