You say you need to order a valve that's not on your truck. You will get the price and call back. This is on a Friday and nobody calls back. It's now Monday and they had to call you. You say oh we emailed the quote. No quote in the email! They call back and you say the email address was missing a letter. Bull!! You've emailed the address before. You resend the quote saying half down to order the part which is now day 4 of the problem! Are you kidding! They put the info from the debit card in and it won't send! Pitiful! They call back and take the information over the phone!! Gee there's a novel idea!! You could have done that on the first call or better yet the day of the problem! I would not recommend this company to anyone!…read more In September of 2024 our ac went out. We called DeAngelo's to diagnose the problem. They stated that our unit needed to be replaced. They suggested that we chose a new Carrier heat pump for $8,000. After installing our new unit, they stated that our thermostat was not compatible with the new unit and needed to be replaced for an additional $800. Once it got cold in early November, our brand-new "efficient" heat pump sounded like a fighter jet on the side of our house every night and into the early mornings. I asked DeAngelo's to come look at the unit they installed. Bill and his son were completely dumbfounded. Bill stated that he would be back in a week with a Carrier Tech. No one ever returned. Our utility bills doubled their normal cost for the next several months. I reached out to Debbie several times to see if the "Tech" had an answer for us. Each time she stated that they had not replied to her yet. It was not until mid-March that Debbie finally replied stating that her "Tech" informed her that our TXV valve in our coil was the culprit. She stated that replacing our inside coil would fix the issue and it would cost $2,600. I asked her if they could just replace the TXV valve and not the whole coil. She replied that they could for $1,300. Keep in mind no one diagnosed the problem in person. Feeling something was off, I contacted another reputable company. The other company responded in a timely manner and within seconds of hearing the noise knew the solution. Bill and his son installed the heat pump incorrectly. They never set temperature lockouts for the heat pump or our furnace. Hence both units were running non-stop All winter and were fighting each other. Come to find out, we have a high efficiency modulating gas furnace which is far more efficient than the heat pump. Therefore, they up-sold us on a heat pump we did not need. We do not need new coil nor is our TXV valve bad. DeAngelo's attempted to scam us out of an additional $2,600 when the issue was their own incompetence.

After some cursing, crawling around the (disgusting) crawl space, and a little 'woe is me', we called BAM Mechanical. Now, you can imagine that we aren't the only ones with frozen pipes right now (it's 26°f today, and down to around 3° last night) , so I expected a wait before they could come out to help. Nope! They came right out. The experience was exactly what I wanted: courteous, professional, straightforward, honest, and informative. Our problem was resolved with just a little work, so fortunately we didn't need some major repair. However, I feel very confident that the guys from BAM Mechanical would have excelled there too. We found BAM through recommendations on Facebook, and I am glad to say I we will be adding our voices as well.
