Yes, this is a long review, but for good reason. Please take the time to read it, if you are looking for an excellent HVAC company. Before I start, please know it's rare for me to write a review for a company, but every once in a great while, I come across a company who truly deserves a positive review. Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning Company is one of those rare companies that truly deserves a great review. On May 1, 2024, I had a company (not Jonathan's, as I hadn't heard of them yet), install a brand new HVAC unit in my home. In mid-June of this year, 2025, my just over 1 year old HVAC unit was only putting out "fan air", not "air conditioned" air. (Of course, the warranty expired exactly 1 year after installation). I put in a claim with my home warranty company. After several days of them not being able to find a company to come to my home to repair the unit, they finally gave me the option to find my own licensed technician to come out and diagnose the problem. I called the original installer, figuring he could easily diagnose and repair the problem, but he said he was booked out for the next 5 weeks!! So, I called many large and small companies that advertised that they can install and/or repair HVAC units. The earliest any of them could come out was about 10 days. Not only that, but most of them said they would not help me answer the questions required by the home warranty company about the HVAC unit's issues, so that I could (hopefully) be approved for the repairs & get reimbursed later. After many, many calls, I came across Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning Company. Not only were they the least expensive price I was quoted by any of the other companies I called, to come out & diagnose the problem, but they were willing to help me submit the needed answers to the questions required by my home warranty company, so we could proceed with the repairs once the problem was identified. When I spoke with Alix, in the office, she heard the desperation in my voice. She said they would send out one of their techs the very same day!! Their tech, Joe, did indeed come to my home that same day as promised. He diagnosed the problem. He took pictures and a video & he sat with me while I answered all of the home warranty company's questions and submitted the pictures, (they do not accept videos), on their portal. The home warranty company called Joe, while he was still at my house & said they wanted more pictures. Joe took more pictures and I submitted them. His patience level was nothing short of exceptional while we waited for the warranty company's decision. They did not make a decision that day. In fact, the home warranty company took days to make a decision. Alix, in the office, was kind and compassionate. She knew my cat & I were suffering on the 100 degree days we were having in NJ. Joe, their technician, was just as kind and compassionate as Alix. During the waiting period (because of the home warranty company's delay in reaching a decision), Alix and Joe continued to have good communication with me to see if there was anything else needed by the warranty company. On two occasions, I spoke to the owner, Jonathan. He explained in more detail, but in layman's terms that I could understand, exactly what the problem was for my own knowledge and in case the warranty company asked me any additional questions. The whole experience with Jonathan's Heating & Air Conditioning was exceptional. The pricing, the quality of workmanship, the communication, the willingness to answer questions I had & the willingness to help me answer the home warranty's questions, etc., by far exceeded my expectations. I would, without reservation, recommend them to my family and friends (and anyone else reading this review), should any of you have any HVAC issues. read more

My mother's air conditioning stopped working so I called Jonathan's Heating &Air. The very nice lady that answered the phone was very understanding and sent Tyler out right away. Tyler was great! I used this company before for my air conditioner but couldn't leave a second review on google. My 88 year old mom was cold and realized this morning that her heater wasn't working. My brother called Jonathan's this morning and Tyler came out to meet me for a 10:30 appointment and he was early! He quickly discovered what the problem was and then searched around and found the part needed. heater was quickly fixed! Tyler was awesome, knowledgeable and friendly! The bottom level of our home flooded, and we needed help with our heater/ac and a thermostat installed. Time was not on our side, as we needed the problem rectified right away. I contacted Jonathan Heating and Air, and that was the best decision I ever made. John Sr and John Jr are very proffessional, knowledgeable, efficient and compassionate. They immediately came to our aid. After the job was completed John offered suggestions on other items requiring attention, so we avoid another disaster in the future. It's very difficult at times to place trust in certain businesses in the service industry. However, as soon as I spoke with John Sr by phone, I immediately knew he was a trustworthy and reputable gentleman. I didn't need to call anyone else. Fantastic guy!!! We called Horizon first because we didn't know any better and they wouldnt touch our heater due to age. (43 yrs) They charged me $150 and didn't do anything but set me up a finance consult for a new system ranging from $11-$19 THOUSAND DOLLARS. I cried... then my son went on Facebook and we found talk of a local company and I found his number on Google. Jon called me back within 20 minutes and came to see our heater quickly. Not only did he service it (horizon didn't even do that!) he replaced parts and got us up and running very quickly!!! He also discussed rates with us that were a THIRD of Horizons and we made a plan to update our AC and Heater in spring that he will do and left us warm and unstressed knowing we aren't getting taken advantage of.
