Cook's Heating and Cooling - exceptional service from a dynamic duo. There is something special about a family-run operation where the knowledge is passed down and the reputation really matters. It's clear the son is learning from the best, and the father has a wealth of experience that is hard to find these days. I recently had a new AO Smith water heater installed, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. This father-son team is the real deal. From the moment they arrived, it was clear they take immense pride in their work. They were punctual, protected my floors, and took the time to explain the features of the AO Smith unit. They were polite, fair on price, and clearly know their stuff. The installation itself is incredibly clean--the piping is level, the solder joints are perfect, and they left the utility room cleaner than they found it. If you want the job done right the first time, hire these men. read more

They said they'd get to my home the same day and they did. Honest and reasonable quote. Some wires were burned on our heater and it was fixed in less than 20 minutes. I can't remember his name as a couple of weeks have gone by, but he was very friendly and I am grateful. I hope I never need your service but if and when I do, you are my go to Company. Thank you so much. read more

Amazing! I called just to schedule an estimate. Jeff asked what the problem was i sent him some pics and in 10 minutes my heating problem was resolved. He is a blessing. Didn't even charge me. I'm a commercial HVAC installer, residential use to be in my wheelhouse many years ago, but not as of late. Jeff came to my home the same day as contacted, quickly diagnosed the issue and gave me suggestions and advice on my system I installed 23 years ago. Jeff was straight forward and honest without trying to throw any BS into the mix. It was a reasonable price, considering I have an old R22 system. If you're looking for quick response, honest service and a reasonable cost, look no further! read more

Jeff was a Godsend. He was incredibly responsive to my initial inquiry. He went to my rental property the very next day and gave me a competitive quote. He was also very honest about the fact that I didn't need name brand, and saved me some money. He was in and out in one day, installing a new furnace and hot water heater. When the hot water heater he had brought was too big for my space he was able to quickly replace it with one that fit. He was kind, grounded, and totally professional throughout the process. My tenants told me that he was a "really nice, really good guy," and they were very comfortable with him. Estimates were easy to understand, and payment was simple. Thank you so much Jeff! read more

I literally never write reviews, and it's taken me too long to get around to writing this one, but if anyone deserves a great review it's Jeff Cook. Literally I had another bigger repair service that came out three times in the space of three weeks (at a cost of over 800) when my AC conked at the height of the summer heat wave and each time they somehow only repaired it enough to work for a few days before it died again. Finally, they told me my AC was unrepairable but they could replace it for 14K. Before pulling the trigger I called Jeff based on his yelp reviews. For 300 dollars he fixed it. When I told him what had happened with the other people he just said, "I'm not here to sell you anything, I'm just here to keep it running." If everything ran as great as Jeff, this would be a much better world. read more

COOK'S IS THE ONE TO CALL: Jeff Cook is a top-notch HVAC repairman! He puts the customer first. Honest through and through. Fair price and highest quality work. COOKS recently came to take care of a problem with my heater. I met Jeff when he was a helper 10 years ago from a previous hvac company that I used. I made the right call and trusted Jeff and he had me back up and running in minutes. it's hard to find honest ppl in this world and Jeff and his business operate with these principles in mind ! if you want great service and a reasonable fix you must call Jeff for all your HVAC needs. I cannot recommend this repairman and his service enough. He is reliable, professional, knowledgeble and honest. We needed our HVAC system repaired. I got 2 estimates and both services told me the entire system had to be replaced- one for $12,000 and the other for $14,000. Jeff showed up and fixed the system (!) in about an hour for less than $500. We couldn't beleive it and he told us we could call him anytime and suggested a way to get some $ back from the manufacturer. We then had our refrigerator stop working and we calld Jeff- he showed up the same day and fixed the refrigerator for a few hundred dollars. We feel like we have won the lottery to find such a wonderful serviceman and encourage others to use him for their service needs. read more

I highly recommend Cook's to anyone who needs a repair, install, and any other heating/cooling projects. Jeff does great work and provides excellent service. When our heating/cooling kicked the bucket, Jeff quickly installed a new unit at a reasonable price. When a recent issue arose, I was nervous that he wouldn't be able to make it out since summer is probably a very busy time. But Jeff was able to quickly come out to easily fix the issue. Seriously, look no further for another company. You won't be sorry. read more

Our AC stopped working in the middle of a heat wave, and so I reached out to a bunch of HVAC contractors through Yelp Messaging (great feature, by the way!). Most companies replied with a form letter thanking me for reaching out and asking me to call to discuss further, which was fine and expected. Jeff from Cook's, though, had taken the time to read my message and respond to it. We had been able to fairly certainly isolate the issue on our own, which I mentioned in the message, and Jeff recommended some DIY options in his message, as well as letting me know the price if I decided to hire him and the number to call. I found that refreshingly thoughtful, and his willingness to answer a few follow-up questions gave me the confidence boost I needed to fix it myself. Even though Jeff didn't directly work on my HVAC, based on this interaction I would definitely trust him for bigger jobs in the future! read more

I've had a great experience working with Cook's. As a first time homebuyer I found myself feeling very vulnerable choosing a company. Happy I found Cook's. I recently had the pleasure of working with Jeff from Cook's Heating and Cooling. My 30 plus year old boiler was not working. Jeff answered my phone call on my first attempt. I explained what the problem was over the phone and provided him with a few pictures as instructed. Jeff came out to my house the next day. Jeff had the parts required for the repair and was finished super fast. I was extremely pleased with his professional approach, knowledge, and pricing. Jeff fixed what was needed and didn't attempt to sell me anything that wasn't necessary. I'll definitely use him for future projects and recommend him to others. read more

I sent a Yelp message to Cook's Heating and Cooling about an AC issue we were having at the home we just bought & moved into and Jeff responded in 10 minutes with several detailed ideas about what might be going on. I decided to call back rather than write a reply and he immediately picked up and helped me diagnose and fix the issue before another 10 minutes had passed! I really appreciate working with someone who doesn't seem put out by your needing their help or make you feel like an idiot for not knowing much about their chosen area of expertise. Jeff was friendly, professional, and totally clear about what I needed to do to investigate and resolve the issue without the need for an in-person service call. After this great experience I know who I'll call the next time we have HVAC issues. Thanks Jeff! read more

I never write Yelp reviews but I'm happy to add my two cents here for Jeff/Cook's! The heat (boiler) stopped working last Saturday morning when it was extremely cold in our NJ home (which is now occupied by renters) since we now live in California. Spent a frantic morning trying to get HVAC companies out to fix the issue. While we got a couple of the larger companies out to inspect quickly and even spent $250 for a "service"/repair fee, both said we should replace the boiler since it was 40 yrs old for approx $10k and didn't even try to figure out a repair solution. One project manager, a.k.a. salesman, called me with a very hard push to move forward with replacing our boiler. I gave Jeff a ring as well because of the positive reviews on Yelp. I sent pictures of our boiler (which he said looked fine) and he came out the following day. He replaced the pump, pointed out that water in the boiler needed to be added (which neither of the other companies even mentioned), and said there is no reason our boiler needed to be replaced anytime soon. And even helped the tenants via text afterwards when it seemed the heat was not working after his repairs. (Tenants left space heaters on which was shutting off the heat) All for less than $1k. As he said, he's "not a salesman but a fix-it guy." He is now our NJ go-to guy for all HVAC and I wish I could find someone like him out here in CA! read more

Writing to say that the installation of our new air conditioning system was great. Jeff and Jeff are great to work with, they are friendly and efficient. We had them come out last year to service the air conditioner and look it over to see why it was leaking. They were honest about the problem and told us to call back in the Spring to replace it. I'm very pleased with their service and reliability. read more

My previous HVAC retired and moved to Florida. He was the best. His prices were reasonable, he was honest, always on time, and his quality of work was spot on. I was having heater problems, I had no idea who to call. I turned to yelp to find someone new. My search took me to Cook's web site. I was blown away by all the positive comments and five star ratings. In my mind, I thought, "THIS CAN'T BE REAL". Anyway, I took a chance and called Jeff. To my surprise, he himself answered my call. He was busy that day, but told me he would still come by late in the day. A little after 6 pm, Jeff got to my home and went right to work. He instantly found my problem, then fixed it. His price was more than fair. SO NOW HE'S MY NEW HVAC GUY. I'm not one to write or trust reviews. But in this case I felt I should pass my good fortune along to others. CALL JEFF, U WON'T BE SORRY. read more

I recently purchased an old row home in Northern Liberties with no duct but window unit ACs and the baseboard heating. The baseboard heating gave me $300/month gas bill... Installing highly-efficient ductless mini split system for cooling and heating was on the top of my project list. Found these guys through a referral. It's a family-owned business. Both father and his son are very hardworking. Both of their names are Jeff. I've just installed 4 zone Daikin mini split system with them. Prompt communication, quality job with perfect prep and after-work clean up, no selling particular brand like other big companies do. They will hear your needs, do the walkthrough for free, and make recommendations but will let you choose what brand to go with. Other companies I talked to..Mitsubishi or Fujitsu only, since they get better profit with those brands. You do the research and you'll find out. Jeff backed up my argument that these days all major brands offer similar quality. It boils down to warranty and supply chain. Daikin was a great choice, 12 year warranty! The young Jeff is really great with communication. Answered all my questions via messages. Signed the contract through DocuSign with his license info included, invoicing/payment via Square. For a tech guy like me, he is a contractor of my dream who does quality work and is super tech-savvy. I hate those big companies that I have to talk to multiple different people, desk rep, sales rep, engineer/consultant, actual install crew, financing/payment department whatever.. I've got multiple quotes from 5 different HVAC contractors in town. They either want to sell particular brand or put on huge markup/profit saying that they are big companies with admin cost.. Yeah, those billboards and Yelp Ad spent, I get it. The burden's on the customer. They may not even remember which technician actually installed the system and will send you different technicians every time you need them. Plus, you have to keep dealing with those people who don't know how the system was planned and installed but are only concerned about scheduling and asking you to pay. If you are like me, tired of getting ripped off by big name contractors who outsource their work and take the big markup. You don't like those when you ask for a quote then always say "give me a call to discuss"? Jeff is the right person to talk to. These guys know what they're doing. You can tell by how they move and how they are obsessed with perfection. They kept asking me when there's something that they need my input on and finished the job as promised. Jeff even updated if they secured the equipments as planned. They also back up their work by providing labor warranty as well. You won't be disappointed! I trust that if I ever have any issue in the future, they'll come and figure out what's wrong and fix it as well. I hope these guys and these types of local, hardworking family-owned businesses prosper to the point that all big companies who spend tons of money on Ad disappear. read more

We needed a new HVAC system. My significant other investigated several contractors. Jeff came right out to our home and checked our twenty-two year system. He recommended we replace our system, as many people in our neighborhood have done. We felt very comfortable with Jeff's evaluation of our system. There was no 'high pressure' salesmanship, just honest answers to our questions. When the system was installed today, every single question I had was answered with expertise and patience. I most highly recommend Jeff Cook for any and ALL HVAC concerns. I would not hesitate to use them in the future!!!! Great job and thanks again read more

Jeff is A+! I especially appreciated his talking this issue out with clarity and honesty. His thoroughness was also impressive. He was able to make a timely visit after I called and went through each step carefully. He gave me recommendations, a clear cost perspective, and a fair price in the end for the work he did.
