FYI: I'm not reviewing Jettie's. I'm reviewing the Nobadeer sandwich at Jettie's. This is the only sandwich I ever get and, quite possibly, the best sandwich in DC. Even if you don't typically enjoy stuffing/dressing at Thanksgiving or even the cranberry sauce, you will love the Nobadeer. Something about its proportions, from the turkey to the mayo to the stuffing/dressing to the cranberry sauce to the bread, make it sheer perfection. I don't even like traditional Thanksgiving food, but I probably eat this sandwich at LEAST once a month, all year long. During pandemic times when I worked from home (and a couple blocks away from a Jettie's location) the Nobadeer was a regular treat. I've tried other Jettie's sandwiches, attempting to determine if all of their sandwiches are just as good. But nothing tops the Nobadeer. Get it. It will fill your tummy and your heart. read more

We had a work catering lunch from Jetties, and wow is all I can say. The packaged lunch were nice packed, with enough food inside to tame all our hunger. I got the Nobadeer sandwich going in with low expectations that it was going to be "another" turkey sandwich or something similar to the gobbler that they sell Wawa which is garbage! The Nobadeer sandwich was amazing. The turkey was flavorful, moist, and delicious with the right amount of stuffing and cranberry sauce. I've been to Jetties a handful of times, however not recently. I called in an order for a turkey club sandwich with very light mayo. I picked up my order and took my first bite. Lots of mayo, little to no bacon, no real avocado (it was a spread) and the turkey was warm. TLDR: gourmet sandwiches that taste great but take a hit on the wallet. I'll be honest I'm not that big a fan of sandwiches in general so wasn't expecting much from Jetties. I came here on the constant recommendation from friends for lunch on a Monday. My friend and I both got the surfside sandwich. Price: definitely on the expensive side. At nearly $16 for a sandwich + drink, this is going to be a limiting factor for most people. Menu: they had a nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches, as well as a build your own option. Cool variety. The menu is listed on top but you order via the paper menus on the table right at the door. Location: located in a small knoll in foxhall off the main road, this is probably one of the few restaurants in walking distance in Foxhall near Georgetown. Writing as the parent of a food allergic child. I have tried to contact them multiple times over the course of several months to get allergen information (both over the phone and via email) just to ask if a certain menu items contained an allergen. They never respond and don't seem interested in accommodating or including people with food allergies. A shame because we would have loved to eat here as a family but their silence doesn't make this restaurant feel safe for those with food allergies! read more

I ended up ordering this place for lunch with some coworkers. I wasn't really thrilled about getting a sandwich but their sandwiches were AMAZING. I ordered the Summer House sandwich (vegetarian), which was so scrumptious! I truly enjoyed the multi grain bread as well as the basil mayo! I was driving through Foxhall, hungry, craving a good sandwich, and low and behold I was right in front of Jetties. Talk about good timing. I think I've avoided Jetties for years thinking that it's just another boring and overpriced sandwich shop but I'm glad I finally gave this place a chance because my sandwich was delicious. Nothing fancy or exotic here, just top quality meats and cheeses and some yummy speciality combos. As an avowed mayo hater, I was happy to see plenty of options without the vile white goop from hell. A bit pricey, but the quality of the meat used in the sandwiches/salads is great!! The Nobadeer is an amazing Thanksgiving-in-a-Sandwich!! Surfside is another good one if you like bacon and avocado. You can choose any items on the menu or you can make your own deliciousness. There's some outside picnic-in-the-park style seating. Great sandwich - had the thanksgiving turkey sandwich and was very pleased with it. I also had the Maryland crab soup (which I always forget is a red soup not the creamy soup) and despite not really loving a red soup, this was actually very tasty. The only reason I wouldn't give this five stars is the prices are sky high and there's something like a 10-15 minute wait for hot sandwiches. When we asked about that, he said there were 3-4 people before us so absolutely there would be at least that wait. I would have thought they had more capacity for warm sandwiches, but we were in a rush so just took the cold sandwich. read more

This place has been bookmarked for me for such a long time and I finally gotten the chance to try it after leaving Georgetown University Hospital. EATS: The Surf Side was delicious. I can confidently say this was the best cold sandwich I've ever had. The turkey was juicy and tender, which is hard to achieve in a turkey sandwich. I loved the avocado, muster, bacon combo between to pieces of soft bread. Oh! And that bad boy was huge! One thing to note, looking through other Yelp pictures... you see a very inconsistent side of the Surf Side sandwich. Looks like some unlucky folks received super small versions of the sandwich I had. Be aware of this when your food comes out. I couldn't bring myself to review 5 stars due to this inconsistency. LOCATION: Unfortunately, since I don't live in Georgetown, this place was super hard for me to get. Kind of gives it an Elitist feel (especially when looking at the prices) to it but once you're there, the service was on point and there's plenty of outside seating with picnic tables and umbrellas. Would love to try some ice cream and sit outside next time. There's another Jetties downtown D.C. However, the reviews paint a very different picture than this location in Gtown. Rude inattentive staff (the young lady at the counter is more concerned with gossiping with coworkers), orders that are incomplete or just plain wrong. Pretty sure the last part is some type of health violation between COVID, monkey pox and hep A. Jetties is a cute place to go for lunch. The Georgetown location is cute and makes me feel like we should be at a beach and not the middle of DC. Plenty of outside seating. Inside, Jetties is bright and filled with delicious smells. They have their menu displayed on the wall which has their regular as well as seasonal items. This is how it works: You can pick from the extensive menu of sandwiches or salads. They also have seasonal items as well as create your own sandwiches and salads. You fill out a sheet for either a sandwich or salad and add your customization. On this particular day, I decided with the Straight Wharf salad, which is their version of a Southwestern style salad. It was delicious and quite filling. Greens, black beans, turkey which was super moist and delicious, grilled corn, tortilla chips, grape tomatoes, and a delicious dressing. This cute spot offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, plus fast-moving lines. My sandwich was tomato, mozzarella, sprouts, and cucumber on sourdough. It was huge, fresh, and tasty. They have a good selection of Cape Cod chips, which are my favorite. I tried the waffle ones, but I'm going to stick to the original. They also offer sparkling water as a drink choice. This is a very random but notable Nantucket-inspired deli on Foxhall Road in what I like to call "the heart of Georgetown," that odd stretch of Foxhall past MacArthur with all the German-inspired houses. Unlike Smith Point, Jetties is cheap, and I would suggest the vanilla milkshake if you are into that sort of thing. Jetties also has turkey sandwiches, hummus, chicken pot pie, bagels in the morning, and a slew of other items. They have picnic tables out front where you can eat, which I think is a nice touch. I love this place! I am in DC a few times a year and never miss going here. Great place for lunch, especially on a nice day when you can sit outside and enjoy your food. Some specialty sandwiches not available with online order when showing on menu for all locations and available in store. If I have to wait 40 minutes for a sandwich shouldn't the online system at least run efficiently? Original cape cod chips not listed online when available in store. First timer, ordered a Turkey sandwich with all the trimmings. Sandwich was good, outdoor seating was great considering the weather. Service was good but I notice several employees not wearing face masks which is concerning but my wife and I are vaccinated so we ate anyway. My friend brought me here this afternoon for lunch and it was nothing short of amazing. I decided to order the Pocoma (sp?). A sandwich that had goat cheese, caramelized butternut squash, and portabella mushrooms - yes it was as good as it sounds. After quickly devouring the sandwich I tasted my friends clam chowder... And let me just say, it was by far the best clam chowder I have ever eaten, and I don't even like clam chowder. Everytime I venture to DC, I always seem to expand my list of restaurants I have to return to on my next visit. Alas, Jetties is another one that will be high up on that list! Jetties, like its sister restaurant Surfside (that I also had the opportunity to try), is perfect if you're specific about your order. Instead of your typical over the counter ordering where your specifications can be easily lost in the hustle and bustle, at Jetties you fill out a paper to order your food. You can choose one of their magnificent options (I really don't think you can go wrong with any of their infamous sandwiches) or you can opt to build your own if you so choose. My choice of the Smith Point (roast beef and havarti cheese) is definitely worth writing about; my fellow diners-- both of whom frequent Jetties-- are huge fans of the vegetarian-friendly Sconset sandwich. Disappointingly, my visit coincided with a snowstorm so ice cream didn't seem to be in the forecast for my meal, but it certainly looked delicious and worth returning for. With most sandwiches costing between $7-$9, it's not a place that I'd find myself at each day for lunch, but with so many great options I would certainly recommend it to someone looking for a delicious and hearty lunch. read more

Currently sitting outside of Jetties cause I just finished my sandwich and it is a beautiful day outside! Was going to Foxhall since I've never been here before and this was on my map so I decided to go. It is a very cute place with suburban/historic vibes. A tiny bit pricey for my taste, but by Georgetown area standards very reasonable! I "built" my own sandwich and was honestly very surprised that I did not have to add any extra hot sauce, salt, pepper, etc like I normally do! Definitely want to come back for the ice cream because it is pretty cheap for Georgetown standards. Four stars for the food + 1 star for the atmosphere. read more

It looks like a beach house you'd find on the Nantucket coast. Jettie's is run by the owner of Smith Point. They have a soup bar with at least five choices ($3.65/$4.95). I had the Maryland Crab, which was good. My sandwich was even better. The "Pocomo" was a roasted portabello with fresh mozzarella and pesto for $6.95. BTW, all the sandwiches are named for Nantucket beaches. A bonus is that you can sit outside at an umbrella table lapping up one of the 18 flavors of Gifford's ice creams that they carry.
