I needed to order food quickly and I saw Billy's super close to my house! The food was so great! I was super happy and dying of hunger so this place hit the spot. This shall be my new spot for quick food.

Billy's Deli/Cafe is located right down the street so I thought I'd give it a try after work today. I'm so glad I did. It was fantastic! I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Pita Wrap with a side of french fries (and they surprised me with two cookies for dessert)! The pita dish was so flavorful! I did an online order which was ready in about 15 minutes. I will definitely be coming back to try more things from this place. Thank you!

Second time here. Place is not bad. 4 stars is about right. The steak n cheese is about 8 of 10. Lot of steak on it. Onion rings are not bad. Want to try the breakfast burrito next.

First of all, Yelp has their hours wrong. It says they open at 10:30, but they were open at 9:45 when I walked in. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito, and an orange juice. The good: One burrito was a little too much to finish, and the total price was $9.90. These days, if you can get full and have a drink for under $10, that's pretty good. They also make it fresh, so (unlike Laredo Taco, Sheets, and Wawa) it's not dry at all. Finally, they gave me a slightly larger than average container of hot sauce. So I didn't run out when I was halfway through eating. The bad: Even though it was fresh, it was not very flavorful. It definitely wasn't bad, just too bland for my liking. If you're a fan of Anita's breakfast burritos, this place will definitely not convert you. Also (maybe this is a nit-pick), they had just stocked the cooler. They stuffed all the new warm drinks in the front, making me have to dig to the back to get a cold one. As someone who used to work for a major beverage company, that is the exact opposite of how you stock a cooler. Old and cold in the front, new and warm in the back. That's cooler stocking 101. You would be written up if you were caught doing it so lazily. The ugly: My chorizo burrito didn't have any chorizo. Instead, it had what I'm almost certain were pieces of hot dog (I'm including a pic). If that's not a hot dog, then that's the most flavorless piece of sausage ever made. If I ordered a hot dog, and was served that, I wouldn't think anything was off. Regardless, it was absolutely NOT chorizo. I'm giving them 3 stars, because I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe they heard me wrong. None of the other reviews mention this, and I seriously doubt that that would be the case, if this was the standard practice. But if I ever go back, and get another "chorizo" with hot dog instead, I'm going to delete this review and replace it with two1 star reviews.

Steak and cheese burrito without potatoes. It was very good. I don't recommend the cold salsa. Taste good with ketchup.

But I would think they would have some heads up on conferences in the area just due to their location. Anyways, I bee-lined it here during lunch break to get a sandwich, with only one person in front of me at the counter. I had the ribeye cheese with added onions, peppers, and mushrooms (a $2.00 upcharge), and was told to have a seat and they would bring me the food since I was going to eat in the building lobby where this location is. And right after I ordered groups from the conference started coming in and soon enough the line was 15-20 people. At the end of that line were two co-workers that found this place by getting lost. They (co-workers) took over 20 minutes before they were even able to make it to the counter to order their food, chili and another ribeye cheesesteak sandwich with fries. After they placed their order, I looked inside and realized they were overwhelmed and were probably not going to bring out my sandwich so I went to the pick up area to ask the status of my sandwich. The panic behind the counter was telling me they lost my order. And they had me wait at the counter for my sandwich an additional 4-5 minutes. When I got back to the table I realized that all I got was the ribeye cheese sandwich with shredded iceberg lettuce, no peppers, no onions, no mushrooms. I wanted to go back, but with the panic behind the counter I said I am just glad I got something to eat. The sandwich was good, not bad, with a nice toast on the hoagie bread. About 10 minutes after I got my food, my co-workers got their food and the person that ordered the chili was very disappointed, they said they have had better chili and Wendy's. My other co-worker agreed that the ribeye cheese sandwich was not bad, but the fries were flavorless, like they were not salted. Anyways, maybe management could take initiative in finding out what conferences are occurring in the immediate area and be prepared that first day, because you only have one chance to make a first impression. I am not likely to return to this establishment due to the incorrect order and the slow service. I wish them much success.

The Italian Store has so many Italian subs to choose from, but I went with the Milano, their most popular sub. The combination of the sweet and spicy peppers really made this sandwich stand out. There was just the right balance of flavors, and I can definitely see why it's one of their most popular choices. A heads-up when ordering: They typically have several sandwiches pre-made and ready to go, but if you want something made fresh to order, you'll need to order by phone or online. At least at the Lyon Village location, you can't order a made-to-order sandwich directly at the counter. So if you have your heart set on a freshly made sub, plan ahead! Of course, no Italian sub is complete without chips. They carry Route 11, a Virginia-based chip company, and they had several varieties available: lightly salted, dill pickle, Chesapeake Crab, Mama Zuma's Revenge, and salt & pepper. I went with the lightly salted, which was the perfect pairing with my Milano. Unfortunately, the Lyon Village location doesn't have fresh gelato, so I had to settle for the pre-packaged variety. I went with the caramel gelato, and it was delicious! It wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated, although it was a little on the expensive side. The store was pretty busy when I stopped in, with several people inside and a few others enjoying the outdoor tables. They also sell pizza by the slice, or you can order a whole pizza to take home. I saw several people leaving with whole pizzas, so clearly I need to add that to my next visit. Between the Milano, Route 11 chips, and caramel gelato, this was a fantastic first experience. Definitely coming back -- next time, I'm trying the pizza!

There's a lot of back-and-forth about who offers the best sandwiches./subs in the DMV. My vote is for The Italian Store! Also, when the workday has been to rough and you don't feel up to cooking, TIS is a great option. Happy eating.

I've eaten at plenty of delis over the years, but Eddie's Little Shop completely surprised me with flavors I've genuinely never tasted before. The sandwiches here are incredibly unique, creative combinations that just explode with flavor in ways I wasn't expecting. What really stood out were the huge, fresh chunks of real mozzarella, paired with their homemade-style dressings, sauces, and condiments. It's easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. The portions are generous, the bread is spot-on. I'll definitely be back before my trip ends. Saturday, midafternoon, I stop by for an Eddie Mootz ($17) (salami, ham, sopressata, mozzarella, on seeded italian). I'm handed this brown paper bag that weighs, I dunno, 3 lbs? I have to carry this back with me to the Metro. Twice along the way, I have to stop and catch my breath. I get home, my kitchen counter sags a bit where I put the bag down. Cripes, Eddie's. And the sandwich itself? 2 meals, easily. Thick thick piles of meat and a shovel-full of mozzarella. Very chewy bread. I work up a sweat just eating this, there's so much labor involved. I ordered online from the Metro, around the DCA stop, and got a notification it was ready before I got to the King Street stop. Fast turnaround.
