Not sure what happened to my previous review, but we stopped by Billy's Deli/Cafe when they had first opened; we spotted this place while doing some errands in the area, and I was intrigued as they had gyros on the menu. Their menu includes various sides and appetizers, salads, wings, pita sandwiches, steak & cheese subs, chicken subs, pastas, and entrees. We ordered: +the Original Chicago Gyro - a combo of beef and lamb gyro with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and tzatziki sauce; unfortunately, I thought the gyro meat would be sliced and fresh, but these seemed to be pre-sliced protein; the pita could have been more fresh and fluffy +Chicken Souvlaki Platter - served with grilled pita, broccoli, grilled zucchini, red peppers, basmati rice, and a side of tzatziki dip; the chicken was overcooked and was super dry; there could have been more seasoning or flavor; the sides and the rice were forgettable Service was fine, and there's a handful of seating inside. There's also a small lot in the front to park. Ive been coming here for the last 4 days and I've considered billys a hidden gem.They have a big menu i suggest coming inside instead of ordering online.The service is great and friendly,although seating is very minimal the food is delicious. Don't let these customers interrupt you. Ordered online and entered the shop for pickup. This place apparently does mostly delivery service type orders. They are ok with the driver ahead of me, but not friendly. As I am the only customer left, counter man is completely ignoring me. He is looking at something.... and looking... and looking. I am standing right in front of him. No response at all. And I wait... and I wait some more. Only customer in the shop. Two other workers are behind him, did not approach. Six minutes later, "yeah, can I help you?" Turns out my food was sitting right in front of him the whole time getting cold. The Chicago gyro is not good. Regular gyro, but the meat is not carved from a gryo spit, it is just grilled and thrown on. Looks like they have a gyro spit but were not using it. Tzatziki not fresh. Prices are fair. Similar deal for the cheesesteak; not good. This could have been a handy shop in a good location for pickup orders, but it just isn't worth the trouble. Do not go here. read more

Billy's Deli/Cafe is located right down the street so I thought I'd give it a try after work today. I'm so glad I did. It was fantastic! I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Pita Wrap with a side of french fries (and they surprised me with two cookies for dessert)! The pita dish was so flavorful! Had an excellent burger and outstanding onion rings - hot and crispy with a terrific sauce.

Ordered from their breakfast burrito shop (Sunny and Fines). We paid $17 dollars per burrito. One burrito still had eggs shells in it. My wife actually scraped her mouth on one. The spicy burrito had zero taste to it. No Sriracha as advertised. I added chorizo and got like two chunks in there. Added avocado and got a tiny spread of canned guacamole. The tots were mushy and the potatoes tasted bad. Very expensive and just plan not good food. read more

First of all, Yelp has their hours wrong. It says they open at 10:30, but they were open at 9:45 when I walked in. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito, and an orange juice. The good: One burrito was a little too much to finish, and the total price was $9.90. These days, if you can get full and have a drink for under $10, that's pretty good. They also make it fresh, so (unlike Laredo Taco, Sheets, and Wawa) it's not dry at all. Finally, they gave me a slightly larger than average container of hot sauce. So I didn't run out when I was halfway through eating. The bad: Even though it was fresh, it was not very flavorful. It definitely wasn't bad, just too bland for my liking. If you're a fan of Anita's breakfast burritos, this place will definitely not convert you. Also (maybe this is a nit-pick), they had just stocked the cooler. They stuffed all the new warm drinks in the front, making me have to dig to the back to get a cold one. As someone who used to work for a major beverage company, that is the exact opposite of how you stock a cooler. Old and cold in the front, new and warm in the back. That's cooler stocking 101. You would be written up if you were caught doing it so lazily. The ugly: My chorizo burrito didn't have any chorizo. Instead, it had what I'm almost certain were pieces of hot dog (I'm including a pic). If that's not a hot dog, then that's the most flavorless piece of sausage ever made. If I ordered a hot dog, and was served that, I wouldn't think anything was off. Regardless, it was absolutely NOT chorizo. I'm giving them 3 stars, because I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe they heard me wrong. None of the other reviews mention this, and I seriously doubt that that would be the case, if this was the standard practice. But if I ever go back, and get another "chorizo" with hot dog instead, I'm going to delete this review and replace it with two1 star reviews. read more

I've stopped in here twice now for lunch and I've been very satisfied with their food! It's such a cute spot and they have a great selection of sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch, as well as classic side dishes like French fries and mozzarella sticks. I ordered the garlic chicken pita and it was delicious! The chicken was grilled to perfection and very flavorful! This place is under new ownership after Covid. The cheesesteak is much better under the new ownership and the people are friendly and kind. Their "special" sauce is tangy smoky and delicious. The only reason this dosent get 5 stars is because they served steak fries with the sub. When I get a sandwhich I want something thin and crunchy. Breaded fries would be best. Steak fries are for juicy things not already wrapped in bread. Everything else was such great quality though it gets 4 stars read more

Formerly Billy's Cheesesteaks, this hole-in-the-wall spot has reopened as Billy's Deli/Cafe. The shop is the size of a small Subway or pizza counter, located in a strip mall between a 7-Eleven and a coming-soon Uyghur restaurant. I liked a few thoughtful touches that made the inside seem personal. Black-and-white photographs of 20th-century Arlington (the Cherrydale Cement Block Company, the old Arlington amusement beach) line the wall above the four small tables, with accompanying hand-lettered descriptions. Three flavors of homemade ice cream are available in a countertop freezer, and a display case by the register has fresh-baked cookies. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter, which was hot and flavorful and more than enough for dinner. The accompanying vegetables were crisp with a twist of lemon. The food came with a free chocolate chip cookie, which was quite good. Sandwiches, pasta, salads, and other hot plates are also on the menu. Billy, if you're reading this, I would love to see the sandwiches available on gluten-free bread. Regardless, I do intend to come back here for lunch or dinner! read more

BUYERS BEWARE! We ordered from a place called "Thick Chick" on DoorDash. For one, the only Thick Chick that is in this area is in Maryland! I found this out trying to contact them when my order was completely WRONG! Billy's Deli Cafe was the brochure we got with our food. I've seen that this store is under new management and obviously they are letting someone run a ghost kitchen out of this place. The food isn't as promised!
