I think I just got the wrong thing here. I ordered the Italian beef sub which is roast beef, pecorino/mozzarella, sauteed onions and garlic, and marinara sauce. Nothing about the sandwich stood out or was good, it just...existed. There was no real flavor to anything; the most "flavorful" part was the marinara. Unless you really like roast beef, I'd avoid this one. I'll go back and try something else because I'm sure it was just that sandwich.

Capo Italian Deli is a small deli located in Old Town. I believe they have other locations in DC and Virginia. I have had the California cheesesteak and the Italian sub as well as the pasta salad. The pasta salad is not worth the money, but I do like that they asked if I wanted the dressing on the salad or on the side. The subs are served on a seeded roll. I am not usally one who puts lettuce, tomato on a cheesesteak, but I would give the California cheesesteak a 9/10. The Italian sub was also pretty good. I was impressed that you can even add Italian dressing to the sub. The inside has a small seating area and my order was ready in a decent amount of time. I believe they do offer other wraps, salads and breakfast options.

I miss having great sub shops nearby and Capo really fills that need. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. It's tiny inside, but there are a few counter seats, tables, and some outdoor seating. I ordered fries and an eggplant parm sub (forgot to take a photo), along with a blood orange San Pellegrino. One of my all-time favorites meals, anywhere, TBH. Everything was delicious. The bread is good and there was plenty of eggplant. Plus, I had leftovers, which is even better. I'm looking forward to returning.

Not sure what the East Coast does to their sandwiches, but, man - they are always delicious, and this one did not disappoint. Freshly sliced meat, confetti-like lettuce and a plethora or veggie and sauce options made this sub delicious. What made it superb? The sesame bread that was perfectly toasted on the outside and soft inside. It was the perfect dinner to take on my evening flight!

I had meanest craving for a deli sandwich and this place had just what I needed. I ordered the 11-inch maple turkey sandwich with a bunch of add-ons. Roast beef. Basil aioli. Fresh mozzarella. Arugula. All on Italian seeded bread. With chips and San Pellegrino Limonata, I paid a little over 30 bucks. It's a lot for a sandwich, I know, but all the add-ons made it totally worth it. While I was waiting for my food, I also noticed that they sold cannoli made to order, So I ordered one of those as well. They offer large and small sizes, but of course I had to get the large. In addition to an absolutely delicious filling, I loved how soft and crumbly the shell was. It was firm enough to hold its shape, but it crumbled beautifully as I've been into it. My only complaint is that I had to repeat my order at least five times to the cashier, which eventually became a little irritating. She seemed to be new so I tried to extend her some grace. Fortunately, she did get my order right so it all worked out.

I've heard great things about this quaint deli located on North Washington Street in Alexandria, VA so I had to put my taste buds to the test. I ordered one cold and one hot sandwich to get the full effect. I loved the crunchiness of the bread and how the ingredients were evenly distributed across the whole length of the bread. You have the option of ordering a 6 or 12 inch sandwich that ranges in price from $13 to $16 and whichever size you order you will be happily satisfied. Next time I visit, I'm definitely going to check out the eggplant parm which is one of my favorite Italian dishes of all time.

Small quaint spot in the Old Town area. The quality of deli meats is very good. The menu has hot and cold sub options, pastas, salads, and desserts! All orders are placed at the counter and if you dine in, your meal is brought to you. Also if you don't finish they will wrap the rest for you as well. Street parking is available. I would go back to try other items on the menu.

Locked away in a comforting space within an office building, it always feels like I stepped into a mom and pop style restaurant. The hosts, servers, chefs, and owner are just incredible- super friendly, knowledgeable, and they really treat you like family here. Now the food. The food is so delicious here. Some of my s/o and my favorite dishes are the cheese pizza (you seriously cannot beat the price), and gnocchi, which is covered in a creamy tomato sauce with chunks of onion and warm tomatoes, and the chicken pesto pasta. Honestly, I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is portioned perfectly, and I swear you never leave hungry here. They also went viral for their chicken caesar wrap too, and I can attest that it's yummy! I'd ask for extra sauce on the side if possible though, but that's because I'm a caesar lover! I'd highly recommend everyone checking out Aldo's. The owner is the sweetest, most caring man and he really is so appreciative of all the customers. If you have a craving for some italian food, go here! And also, don't leave without trying their tiramisu or walk out with their rainbow cookies!

I'd return based off that alone, but our sever also did a tremendous job and handled our large group very well! Kudos to him (I forgot his name). Now for the food and drinks. I expected longer wait times for seating and food, and I was prepared to be patient. However, what I did not anticipate was a complete breakdown in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Having worked in the restaurant industry, it was clear that the issues extended beyond the kitchen. A back-of-house "crash" of this magnitude is typically the result of broader operational failures, including front-of-house management. It appeared that reservations were significantly overbooked without adequate planning for the volume. On a day like Mother's Day, full capacity should be expected, and systems should be in place to manage that demand effectively. At a minimum, there should have been proactive communication with guests regarding delays, allowing them the option to adjust their plans. Additionally, basic service standards--such as keeping water glasses filled and bread baskets stocked--were not maintained. The serving staff seemed overwhelmed and unsupported, which ultimately reflects a lack of clear direction from management. During our visit, we even observed a large party leave due to the experience. I genuinely felt for our server, who appeared to be doing their best under difficult circumstances. Without directly requesting specific items and even ordering from the bar myself, the experience would have been significantly worse. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations either. The seafood pasta, in particular, was underwhelming in both quality and presentation--featuring minimal seafood and inconsistent preparation. At the price point, I would expect a much higher standard. The chicken Parmesan felt like cardboard and was just as thin. The cod with peas tasted exactly like the frozen cod I get from Costco. Calamari never came, which we had no idea about. No option to get anything else. If the restaurant does not have the infrastructure to handle high-volume days at a consistent level of quality, it may be worth reconsidering reservation limits or adjusting service expectations accordingly. While I understand the desire to maximize business on a busy holiday, the long-term impact of disappointed guests may outweigh the short-term gains. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as no guest should have the experience we did. And no we did not accept any free dessert, which I felt was a completely tone def to the experience we had.

Free parking Hot, fresh food Fast service Amazing customer service We went on a Sunday around 6:00 p.m. and were seated immediately--no wait at all. For appetizers, we ordered the chips and dip, which came with tortilla chips, plantains, mango salsa, guacamole, and dip. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. My only complaint is that the portions felt a little small for the price. We also ordered the spinach dip, and it was outstanding! It arrived piping hot in a cast-iron skillet and stayed hot the entire time we were eating it--a huge plus because spinach dip usually cools off quickly. The toasted, buttered bread that came with it was fresh and plentiful. Again, I just wish there had been a little more dip in the skillet. For our entrées, I had the Mojo Chicken, and my husband had the Grilled Chicken Alfredo. Both dishes were served hot, came out quickly, and were absolutely delicious. Birria Racos to go. Now let's talk about the drinks... Pineapple Mojito: 20/10! One of the best I've ever had. Limoncello Martini: 10/10! My husband ordered the Havana Puerto Rican Rum & Coke, and he said it was excellent. The waitstaff deserves a special shout-out. Every single person we encountered was friendly, attentive, and professional. We never had to ask for refills or anything we needed--they stayed on top of everything without being intrusive. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience. Aside from wishing the appetizer portions were a little larger, I have absolutely no complaints. The batter was soggy and not light and crispy enough but I did enjoy the two sauces that were paired with it. The pasta was slightly overcooked and the sauce was watery but overall I enjoyed how the flavor of the pork and sage complimented the pasta, but it wasn't anything to write home about. My friend got the carbonara which was unfortunately disappointing, as it was watery, overly salty and the opposite of what a good carbonara should be. In addition, the carbonara had what looked like pieces of cubed ham instead of pancetta or guanciale, which really downgraded the dish. Chocolate mousse was a good way to end the meal, I would've liked less whipped cream but it wasn't too sweet, which I preferred.
