I didn't know who to take my computer to for a fix other than the Geek Squad at Best Buy, who haven't been very helpful to me in the past. I figured I'd have to just suck it up and go buy a new, more compliant desktop computer that day. However, I checked with Yelp first just to see if there were any shops nearby that might be able to fix my computer. I'm really happy I came across PC Consulting. Dave was able to help me immediately. I brought him my computer, he tried a bunch of things to diagnose, and even though he confirmed that my motherboard had joined the Great Computer in the Sky, he was able to save my hard drive and memory and install it in a really inexpensive, temporary solution. He also gave me some great suggestions for my next computer even sending me a link to a great deal on Dell's website ($200 off!) for a computer ideal for my usage. He's a really nice guy. We chatted for a little bit more about geeky stuff before I took my temporary computer home to see if I could again VPN to my company. Success!
