We have used Peel Tech for years now and have had good experiences. But recently we had a very simple job that only took 15 minutes max and was charged a full hourly rate of $125, which seems quite unreasonable. We've had plumbers who have adjusted their fees down when the fix was so simple, but not Peel Tech. It was a total rip-off, although the problem was fixed. I do not recommend anybody using them without getting clear information on the fees that will be charged up front. Not customer focused in my opinion. read more

I called Peel Tech because were were have problems with the printer set-up, internet cuttting out and a lot of email problems. I got a prompt call to setup and appointment with Scott and i was relived. Scott showed up worked through the problems and also discovered that we had two routers and that they might be fighting with each other. So he set it up so that one router became the prime source and took the information on the other router from Comcast to see if it was out of date ETC. I got and email saying Comcast Router was current and let's just leave it along unless you have any additional problems. I could not be happer with the results from Peel Tech. read more

Peel Tech provides computer and other electronic phones, etc. assistance (and often instruction) to the residents of our large senior apartments complex. Scot, a senior technician, has assisted me about 4 times in the past few years, some with normal improvements and enhancements ... and has solved unique and complex problems. I had Dutch come and fix a litany of issues that kept stacking up over the years in our small business office. He did everything over a few days including install our wifi mesh, fix issues with our security cameras, fix printer scanning problems, fix my computer which wouldn't wake up when it went to sleep and backing up my .pst files, and a number of other random things associated with our teams work stations. I just moved and my printer was very unhappy. Sometimes it would print right away, sometimes in a few minutes, or an hour, or never. The tech immediately understood the problem and explained it to me. (all printers use the old 2.4 ghz network, I'm now in a high-rise and the network is crowded), then he worked on the printer to establish a direct connection. Once he did that it works perfectly and I'm a happy customer. The next day I got an email going into details about the problem, its resolution, and instructions. When I asked Brock if they were licensed & bonded he said yes, but when I asked is it possible to see evidence of it, he said they were probably not a good fit. He was great at the sales pitch but not so good at offing evidence of reliability and dependability of being honest. A friend referred me to Peel Tech. First time I've used a tech support service like this....only one I've ever heard of is the Geek Squad. I had an old laptop I wanted to sell for a long time, because it was incredibly slow and basically unusable. My friend gave me Peel's 866 number to call, which I did and they sent a tech out to my home the same day. Super friendly guy, had my laptop working like new again in less than an hour. Took my credit card payment right from his phone. Done and done. Awesome! read more

I ordered their service through Amazon for a TV install as well as surround sound speaker install through walls in my new house. Gave exact details of what needed to be done and sent pictures of wall, fireplace, etc. Brock emailed telling me the estimate and what I needed to order. It was a 75" Samsung going over the fireplace. They sent one guy with a small stool to stand on. I offered to go buy a ladder for him to access my crawl space in the attic to run wires, he said he could manage. Long story short, I had to help the guy for the entire 12 and a half hours he was working to do this. He was standing on my water heater in the garage as he drilled hole after hole through the walls and ran wires all over the garage. In doing so, he broke a pipe on top of the water heater. I called Amazon the next day, they had Brock to my house that evening apologizing for the horrible service. He attempted to fix some of the wiring issues, which still looked like some 5 year old did them. He also paid for someone to come repair the damaged water heater. But the wall is still a wreck and I would never recommend them to do any sort of custom wall mounting for a TV or speaker mounting in your home. Get a professional to do it right the first time. Did I mention they tried raising the estimate from $360 to $875? Amazon was great and did not charge me for this horrific experience. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. Just to clarify: I sent photos of the area where the TV was to be installed prior to installation. The price was then increased due to the wire concealment and Brock explained I needed to order ceiling and wall mounts for the speakers. And you think one man can safely install a 75" TV over 100 lbs all by himself? Brock said upon entering my home that the tech should have immediately called for an additional person on this install. I did thank the tech for his dilligence in getting the job done after 12 and 1/2 hours. I helped him simply because I felt bad that his company would send him out so poorly equipped to do a job I gave great details of prior to installation. I am a 60% disabled Veteran and feel like I put as much effort into this install as the tech did. No equipment was programmed or set up by the tech. I had it all programmed prior to set up and had to fix a poor speaker wire connection myself that the tech could not figure out. Nice tech, bad owner. Go elsewhere. This owner has still not reached out to me to rectify the situation. He did reach out to Amazon to complain about this Yelp review. He did reach out to Yelp and tried having this review removed. His interest is only in himself and his bottom dollar, not the interest of the customer. read more

Like Stephen R, (below) We have a large and older home That presented a lot of challenges for Wi-Fi connectivity. I recently had XFINITY out to relocate my modem and router to a more central area but that only moved the dead zones to other parts of the house. Within one day of my service request, Brock came to my rescue. He listened, evaluated, tested and recommended a mesh network. He sent me a link for the Google system, but Amazon was out of stock. I found it at Best Buy and the sales people there tried to upsell me to a "stronger "system." Brock answered my emailed question right away and saved me hundreds. He installed all of it today and i couldn't be happier. He showed me a bunch of tricks for using the app, tested the system in all corners of the house, and even called Xfinity for me too turn off the Wi-Fi signal in their modem/router. I am so happy to have Peeltech as sort of a personal IT department. These issues can be so complicated if you (like me) aren't even sure of all the vocabulary. I've been using a friend-of-a-freind for IT problems and they were very inexpensive but also very hard to get when needed. Zakk from Peel tech got to my house the next day and helped me install a new operating system. This was a pretty simple problem but while he was there, he showed me how to trouble shoot a slow system, store my data in the cloud, restore my system from the backup, solved a printer problem and more. Everything he helped me with worked the first time and I learned a lot, too. I consider the $70/hr a bargain and will definitely call them again when I need to. read more

I just had a great tech support experience with Peel Tech. I had received a new set top box from Comcast. There was a problem with the set-up and I couldn't face calling Comcast. I'd heard good things about Peel Tech although I hadn't used them before. I contacted them last night, and Zak came today and solved the problem in 5 minutes. I know I would have been on the phone with Comcast for hours ... While he was at the house, Zak also helped me troubleshoot a problem with my Chromecast, and he had some great suggestions for improving our WIFI and simplifying our many remote controls. I sent an email late one evening after another Tech org didn't work out. Peel Tech's Vern was here the next afternoon. He fixed everything: something weird with Comcast that required him to speak with 3 levels of their fix-it people. I couldn't even have answered their questions, much less have understood what to do. Vern was even able to explain what the problem had been. He then fixed a couple of little twitchy things that were just irritating. One of them took a bit of figuring and I really appreciated that he got committed to fixing it. He said it would keep him awake at night if he couldn't figure it out.
