Buy a new device, or upgrade by salvaging what still works. Since our home network is more ethernet based than wifi, and we still use our CD drive, SD card readers, and connect devices and peripherals through cables, we elected the upgrade, knowing it could be complicated. Everything turned out wonderfully, and I'm learning how to navigate and use the new features. The upgrade process had a hiccup, but Dr PC Fix came to the rescue by immediately and courteously resolving things, while displaying their superior customer satisfaction policy. He got my computer working perfectly after a couple days of bashing my head into the wall trying to get the Windows OS up and running. Don't expect a big PC supermarket though. (I was told he gets mail delivered there, but he never actually lived there). His website was active when I found him, but now it is showing "expired". -He sent screenshots of the files I wanted to recover, but he hasn't completed the work. -All I want is to receive my hard drive back... (I get it, life happens - I've had urgent life/death matters to deal with too - you can't just disappear and expect people to be happy.
