From the lovely ladies Vanessa & Aliyah up front, the talented dental hygienist Yvanna to the amazing Dr. Amanda, I have had some of the best experienes so far! For the first visit, they carefully checked my teeth and x-rayed them with this cool new age Star Wars x-rays that take real life photos of my teeth! Super cool! They were in a 3D format so the staff could move them around with ease! Super cool! I don't think I've ever have seen this in any other dental practice! This morning I had my teeth cleaned by Yvanna and between her and the vibrating tool she used, it was the most gentle cleaning I've ever had! Cannot say enough great things about this dental practice! Thanks for everything! Super happy client!

I specifically called and in person asked for a note to be put in my chart to only see Dr Marx, the team has failed to schedule me with her even after saying they completely understand and they have made the note in my chart (false). I've now been pushed to another provider that spends 5 minutes checking everything and doesn't address concerns. They have scheduled me with her multiple times despite my ask to only see Dr Marx. I've had an ongoing TMJ issue and was told I could take muscle relaxers (after getting second opinions that is not the route to take and is not a long term solution). I also had a wisdom tooth that was never mentioned as an issue and then it was brought up abruptly at my recent visit that it had to be removed which was unexpected. It's really a shame as I do think the staff is kind, and Dr. Marx specifically is a fantastic and very knowledgeable dentist, I'm sad I haven't been able to see her!

I'm sharing my personal experience at CDA to help others make informed decisions about their dental…read morecare. I'm using an alias to protect my privacy since I'll be discussing detailed health information in this post. In January 2025, I began treatment at CDA and agreed to a full-mouth restoration from their recommendation, which cost me $40,520. I was told that this would provide a long-term solution to prevent grinding and give me a perfect smile. Although I had some initial reservations, the large number of 5-star reviews influenced my decision to go forward, hoping for the permanent solution to my grinding. However, my experience did not meet the expectations I was led to believe. In January, Dr. Barras removed all of my natural enamel at the direction of the director/dental assistant and the non-practicing dentist/owner, who create the treatment plans. In February, I underwent four extensive procedures when it should have been only one because the same canted crowns were placed multiple times. The office attributed this to the lab sending the wrong crowns, but I had to endure the discomfort each time. After the crowns were initially cemented, I experienced constant and severe pain, especially while eating and drinking. Over the course of several follow-up visits for pain, the director/dental assistant claimed that my pain was due to my bite even though my main symptom was temperature sensitivity, so she continued having the treating dentist do multiple bite adjustments with no resolution to my pain. Unsatisfied with the repetitious explanations yet unable to get resolutions to my pain, I sought second and third opinions from unaffiliated dental offices. The outside evaluations suggested that my ongoing pain was likely due to open margins from multiple crowns not being seated correctly, and that excess cement had been buried into my gums, which they said most likely contributed to the development of 8-10 cavities in a short period of time. CDA never disclosed these possible issues to me, even though X-rays had shown cracked crowns from my first permanent appointment in February. Due to my teeth decaying quickly (possibly from the excess cement) and the extreme pain from open margins, I was told I needed to have the entire work redone. This has caused me significant emotional distress and financial burden, as it will cost me more than double what I initially paid. I was also told by other professionals that a full-mouth restoration isn't always a permanent solution, as CDA had stated, meaning more costly and painful dental work may be necessary in the future after I'm done with the current restoration redo. Another challenge I faced with CDA was the difficulty in obtaining my full dental records. Despite several requests, the documents I received seemed incomplete and inconsistent with my recollection of my appointments. I noticed discrepancies in the records, such as additions that never occurred and exclusions of things that did, with many notes focusing on aesthetics, when most of my visits were related to pain management. I requested a refund multiple times, and although one was eventually offered, it came with conditions, including signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), releasing them from liability, and agreeing not to report my experience to the dental board. Given the issues with the work I received, I did not feel comfortable signing these releases. As a result, they informed me I could not have the refund unless I signed. I received a cease-and-desist letter from their attorney last month too when a review was posted about my experience which was later reported by the business for deletion. For that reason, I am leaving out a lot of details about my experience. Last week, the attorney verbally agreed to give me the refund if I signed an NDA without the liability release, which I said I would agree to, but then they sent another liability release which was never part of the verbal agreement. Ultimately, I encourage anyone considering major dental work to get multiple opinions and ask detailed questions from independent dentists about the necessity and long-term viability of the proposed plan. If you have already received care from this office and are experiencing complications, I highly recommend seeking an outside evaluation from a dentist unaffiliated with CDA. I hope my story encourages others to advocate for themselves. I did not have the luxury of reading reviews like this before choosing this business. I spent many sleepless nights in pain while reading the glowing reviews, wondering why my experience was so different. Now, after this long and painful road, I wonder if others have had similar experiences but were unable to speak out publicly. My experience with NDAs, reported reviews and a cease-and-desist letter has led me to believe that transparency and honest feedback about dental care are critical, and I hope this helps others navigate their choices more confidently.

From the very first consultation to the final placement, the entire process was smooth, professional, and surprisingly comfortable. The team took the time to understand exactly what I wanted -- a natural, bright smile that still looked like me, just better. They matched the color and shape perfectly to fit my face, and the attention to detail was incredible. I was nervous about how they'd feel or if they'd look artificial, but they feel completely natural and look flawless. What I love most is how confident I feel now -- I can't stop smiling! Friends and family keep complimenting my teeth, and most people have no idea they're veneers (which is exactly what I wanted) If you're on the fence about getting porcelain veneers, I say go for it. It's one of the best investments I've ever made in myself!!

I shouldn't be surprised that she and her daughters go here - nothing but the best for them! The chairs that you sit/lay in to be treated are massage chairs! I've never had such a thorough cleaning as I did here. My teeth got that well needed cleaning & they removed the built up tartar. The x Rays were very thorough too - I believe they took over 10 photos. That was a bit painful because the piece I had to bite to take the x Ray didn't fit in my mouth. Aside from a general cleaning, I also came in for Invisalign and to fix three chips in my front two teeth. Dr. Moossy effortlessly filled in my chipped teeth; I'm very happy with the outcome. For Invisalign, I could do it at this dentist & they send it to Dr. Kunik, an orthodontist, to tell Invisalign what to do. I like how they say the benefits of Invisalign besides the cosmetic aspect. Glad my coach recommended me to go here!

There is a first time for everything. This is the first time I have fired my dentist…read more Note: I recommend reading all the 1 star reviews, they are consistent with my review. No business is perfect, but when you have a cancerous culture that does not cherish the client relationship it shows. This is an example of just that, at least the front of house. The reality is the actual work of dentistry is fine in this establishment. It's the admin, front desk, customer service, lack of availability, and difficulty of being a client that leaves a lot to be had. Not to mention when or if you fire them how difficult they will be when it comes to moving your dental records to your next dentist. It was very frustrating to be a patient at times given that this is the way they choose to do business. My wife and I were patients since we moved to Austin in 2017. The quality of the dental work is fine. The front of office is a 1 out of 10 at its worst and a 5 out of 10 on average. I am sure the practice will have some response that will paint us as unreasonable clients, but here are my key issues: 1. If your teen has an appointment (simple cleaning) , they will not see them unless the parent is present, we had an issue where my wife was single parenting for the week while I was on a business trip and found out after she had dropped my son off for his appointment and took my other son to school that this was their policy. Fair enough, except for the fact that by the time my wife got back, 15 minutes late, they canceled his appointment, for a policy they enforced and communicated after the fact. The biggest issue was not the policy, but how the staff treated my wife through this situation, and the fact that when my wife alerted the dentist to the incident she sided with her staff and never got back to my wife regarding the incident. Not acceptable for any business owner. 2. My dentist (Dr Heggen) only works 2 days a week, so if you have any near term issues, IE major tooth pain, you may have to wait weeks , like 4 or 5 to get in to see the dentist, not great if you can't chew or have major tooth pain. In my situation, I had a filling put in in March by my dentist that was hurting for months that they tried to adjust and was still off, and I had major issues as the pain increased. I tried to schedule to have it looked at given they had done the work, however had major issues getting in to see my dentist given the lack of availability, regardless of the fact that I could only chew in one side of my mouth. Not great. 3. When you leave they will refuse to send your actual digital records to your new dentist , isn't it 2024????? This will cause your next dentist to either have them sent via snail mail or you will have to physically pick them up yourself. Also they will not release records to your new dentist, just to you. It's completely ridiculous. Also new dentist will have to more than likely do an entire set of new XRays since paper XRays are not as clear as the digital real ones. This was absurd, but not off brand for the behavior we experienced which caused us to leave. 4. Lastly, even after being a patient for 7 years they mispronounced my wife's name. A small issue but again consistently on brand for why this place is not great. A side note I went to my new dentist and had the opposite experience with front of house. Friendly, proactive, super nice, went out of their way to make things easy. Reminded me what really good service and a great client experience is supposed to be.

I was in a period in my life where I did not have dental insurance so I was a cash pay patient. When I went in the last time, they insisted that I have x-rays and that if I didn't, they were not "running the business as they were taught ". So as it turns out, Dr. Peters wouldn't even clean my teeth! She talked to me like I was an errant child who was misbehaving. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I reached out to the owner of the practice and she called me back and apologized for how things happened and even offered to do the x-rays for free. Although I greatly appreciate that, I have no desire to go back and have to see Dr. Peter's. So I advise if you go to this practice make sure you have health insurance or unlimited money because people who don't are not really welcome.
