There's a reason I've been coming here since 2006 and will never switch dentists even though I now live in S Austin. From top to bottom I feel so comfortable here. Every 6 months I get a checkup that is always smooth. They always accommodate my light sensitivity by turning off the overhead lighting and handing me blackout sunglasses. They are so nice and I almost never leave with a migraine, which is truly a miracle. But today was a different sort of day. I woke up with tooth pain. I was really nervous about it. I called. Sarah at the front desk, who is always amazing, got me in today. Then I met Juliet, one of the hygienists. I told her kind of my sob story about how I think I'm grinding at night and I'm so worried I'm going to have a cracked tooth because Dr. Glennon has asked me to be careful with that one. She is so reassuring. So kind. She and I talk for 30 minutes about possible solutions, including the one I've been scared to death to try, a night guard. But she puts me at ease. She is both super smart and super empathetic. She scans my mouth. Dr. Glennon comes in and does some tests. He takes time to examine the tooth and the area around it. It's either phantom pain from my anxiety or possibly real pain. He listens to me. He tells me what I'm feeling is real. I'm not sure, but I appreciate he isn't dismissive. They have my back on whichever decision I want to make to protect my tooth. I leave almost about to cry because of how kind they are. read more

Really unhappy with this place. Every dentist I've ever been to charges a flat rate for a cleaning. This dentist tried to charge me an extra $65 for a 5-minute visit from the dentist IN ADDITION TO their already high rate for cleaning. I've let them know I disagree with this bill ($65 for 5 minutes of time is outrageous and I certainly didn't agree to it before they charged it, nor did they let me know they were going to charge this ahead of time), but they charged it anyway. I am now going to a different dentist which charges a fair rate for a cleaning, and doesn't charge any extra for a quick "hello" from a dentist as part of the cleaning. Stay away from this dishonest place. I've also let my orthodontist know about my bad experience here so hopefully they will stop referring clients to this practice. read more

I've never had a cavity and have taken good care of my teeth (with sealants) until coming here, and all the sudden they found "problems" with my teeth. I trusted the doctor and agreed to the fill. But now since the work was done I've had pain in that tooth and that side doesn't line up like it used to. When I went in to have it checked Dr Glennon couldn't isolate the pain and didn't fully fix the bite, and even charged me for the return visit to "fix" his work! No ma'am! Total out of pocket was $658 and they will send you to an aggressive collections agency if you are a past due. That's a lot of money for a single mom that now has to live with a sharp pain when eating certain foods on that side. It honestly makes me sad that business that appears as wholesome as this one is actually shady. Beware because they are really good at the up-sell. Shame! read more

DUMPSTER FIRE of a practice. Catty front desk service. Called and cancelled less than an hour before a scheduled root canal. No voicemail, just a random number shown as a missed call. Showed up to the apt, did not receive a warm welcome by any means. Actually, I was shown the door. Chances are they saved me from a botched procedure. So maybe I should thank them for being so dysfunctional. Though now I'm down 8 hours PTO. COMPLETE GARBAGE. read more

I found these guys off a $99 first-time patient special they had advertised on Facebook on July 9. It had been a few years since I'd gone to the dentist, so my chain of logic went like this: 1. Hey, that's a pretty good deal 2. Hey, they're right in my neighborhood 3. Hey, they're in my health insurance network (Humana) 4. Hey, they have good reviews This lead inexorably to: 5. Hey, go book an appointment So I did. I had to play a bit of phone tag with the receptionist in order to get my appointment booked, which was partly my fault due to being busy enough to not return their calls promptly. My appointment was a bit far out - by July 21, the soonest they could see me was September 3. However, it's not like my need was urgent, and so a bit over a month was fine with me. They sent plenty of email reminders, plus a text the day of. The actual 8:50am appointment went about as smoothly as you could ask for. I showed up at 8:45am, finished my paperwork in about 10 minutes, and was seen at 9am. The special included the following things: - X-rays - A full cleaning by a hygienist - An examination by Dr. Glennon - A home teeth whitening kit thing I received all of that, done promptly and professionally, and I was out of there by 10:45 for exactly $99. They recommended some additional work, but it was surprisingly little for someone too lazy to go to the dentist for literally years beforehand and who still had all their wisdom teeth. I went ahead and booked my 6 month followup appointment with a clear mind, a light heart, and much cleaner teeth. read more

Ah dentists, who'd ever think of reviewing one of the more feared or should I say avoided doctor's in one's life. I love the dentist and have been going religiously every 6 month's for my entire life. i have less than a handful of cavaties and never had braces. This past year i had my first crown put in as a molar with a filling had split. Needless to say, Dr Glennon and his staff have been great. they are friendly, easily accommodate last minute appt changes, make you feel at home while you watch or listen to TV during your cleanings, etc. My insurance (BCBS) doesn;t cover everything because they are considered out of netwrok but I'd rather pay more to go to see Dr Glennon and staff versus one of the horrible "chains" or "factories" such as Castle Dental. If you haven't been to the dentist in awhile, see these guys. If you are looking for a better dentist, look no further. read more

I have been terrified of dentists since I was a small child, so needless to say, I procrastinate visiting one until my jaw is throbbing with a piercing pain going down my neck and a week-long headache. I chose Dr. Glennon at Austin Dental Center on Yelp because they were open when I was awake with pain (before 7am - read: awesome hours) and because he was conveniently located (read: central). I called and spoke with Sharon, who gently talked timing, pricing, and sedation. They took my fears and concerns very seriously. From checking in at reception, an empathetic exam, to a root canal I barely remember, I felt cared for in extremely capable hands.They kept me at ease and made sure I was confortable for the entirety of my visit! Most importantly, the root canal was completely painless. I didn't even know that was possible. Today, when my TMJ was punishing me for yesterday's dental work, Sharon patiently took all four of my calls throughout the day. She took each call seriously, completely respecting the pain I was in, and helping me find ways to alleviate it. I have to go back next week to finish the work, and for the first time in my life, I'm almost looking forward to it. So, thank you Dr. Glennon, Sharon, and the other three team members each and every one of whom went above and beyond to make sure one patient was completely and utterly taken care of. read more

I just got back from another "pleasant" visit to the dentist. This time I got to meet Dr. Glennon's new partner, Dr. Rydel. And, boy, was she wonderful. She was personable, pleasant, and very thorough. You'd be in good hands here if you visited either Dr. Glennon or Dr. Rydel. As for the staff, they are still great! Sylvia continues to be one of the best and gentlest hygienists in the world, and the front desk staff couldn't be more friendly or accommodating. I'll start off by saying Dr Glennon and his nurse were absolutely perfect-no problems there. However, I accidentally missed a follow up appointment, and I received a warning that there would be a fee the next time it happened. (Understandable) I moved to another state afterward, so I called to inform the receptionist that I would therefore no longer be using this dentist. I apparently missed another appointment (I thought it was obvious I wouldn't go back, considering I now live 2000 miles away from the office) in July, and I just heard about the consequential $50 fine I owe. (3 months later) When I finally got ahold of Shana, the woman sent to shake me down, I tried to explain that I had informed them that I moved out of the country. Rather than listening to my concerns, Shana gets snippy and tells me that I need to find a way to prove what I said to the receptionist when I called to tell them I moved-but this doesn't really seem possible. I tried to argue for a few minutes but she was more concerned with proving her point than listening, so I end up having to pay this unnecessary fee so they don't try to send a collection agency after me. I've never tried to short a company or get out of paying something that I owe, but this woman made me feel like I was just a cheap liar-what a terrible person to have calling on behalf of a business. Definitely go to Dr. Glennon, but maybe once he gets rid of this woman. read more

They call me the "music man" at work, because anywhere I'm parked you will hear London's Best Smooth Jazz with Rod Lucas on my speakers, little did they know that at Austin Dental Center, but after you walk in, and are greeted so calming and friendly from the front staff, you will be asked what type of music to play before starting. I am so appreciative of all the staff and especially Dr. Glennon. I had my first cleaning there over a month ago and it was top notch. Today, I just finished up with some fillings and Dr. Glennon and his assistant made sure my comfort was a top priority (and of course, making sure my teeth were properly filled and without decay). I freely admit that I have some dental anxiety due to past experiences at previous dentist offices. Dr. Glennon heard my concerns and made sure I was good throughout the fillings. I laugh when I am nervous and jump when I feel pain. Dr. Glennon did not blink an eye and continued to ensure a pain-free experience. I have two more fillings and I feel confident that I will be cared for in the same manner. Also, the front desk/business side of the office is extremely compassionate and helpful. When my prior dental office was purchased by a new company with questionable reviews, I was reluctant to keep going there and wanted to find a new dentist. My hand was forced when I woke up to an awful toothache, and after some quick searches online, ran across Austin Dental Center PC and the good reviews. I figured it was a long shot for them to see me that day, but gave a call - and they were able to fit me in! After a series of xrays and an exam, nothing in particular was found regarding the cause of the toothache, but they did find a cavity on the other side of my mouth, and they were able to fit me in the next day to get that taken care of as well! They were also able to provide a cleaning the first day, and maybe something was just stuck in there, as the next day the pain was gone. Between the thorough immediate care and plan of action going forward, and the clear explanation regarding the financial portion through every step, I hopefully will not have to look for another dentist for a long time. read more

Awesome dentist, awesome people. I hate dentists and have the teeth to prove it. Or in this case, don't have the teeth. While traveling on business a tooth fell out, probably because it lost hope when it's neighbor broke. So there I was on a week long business trip missing 2 front teeth. While on a plane I emailed 3 Austin dentists (including an "emergency" dentist service) and only heard back from ADS. They found a way to get me in at 7am the next morning, then they improvised a solution that made me look better than I've looked in 15 years. Amazing, Austin you're lucky to have them. read more

I've never had fun going to the dentist until I came to austin dental center. Dr. Thu Trinh and her assistant Maritza are hilarious. Even when my mouth is filled to the brim with fingers, surgical tools, and those beloved dams, I can't help but bust out laughing. When im not laughing, I'm almost asleep because their professionalism and efficient work is surprisingly tranquilizing. I can honestly say I have never almost fallen asleep at a dentist visit before. They took care of all my cavities in a timely manner and even squeezed me in last minute several times. The administrative staff is also great and welcoming every time I come in. Austin Dental Center completely turns around the usual anxiety driven stigma most people have toward visiting the dentist. The staff there is so welcoming, which makes for an absolutely pleasant atmosphere. Katy at the front desk is friendly and always wears a genuine smile on her face. She's great at answering any questions needed when you check in/check out. There's never any confusion like I've experienced at other dental offices I've visited in the past as far as payments or scheduling or anything. Dr. Trinh is so skilled at what she does! There was a short time that I went to a dental chain for a couple years. I finally had with the bad service and poor customer service. I found about Austin Dental Center online and have been going there ever since. Dr. Glennon is such pleasant dentist, he is quick, positive, and friendly. The methods and technology that he uses is always the most up to date. I was able to see how my tooth was cracked before they put the crown on. I also appreciate the friendly attitudes and professionalism from the hygienists. They are always offering me a great goody bag at the end and will give me a different toothpaste if I ask and will offer up coupons too. One hygienist in particular offers me the kid flavors of tooth polish for which I'm always grateful. (You have to try the cookie dough flavor.) And last, the ladies at the front are so helpful, they operate with the highest of professionalism and have been able to get me in on short notice several times. I told them that the particular hygienist had a gentle hand and I liked that, they noted in my file. Also, no one is ever in the waiting room when I get there, because you hardly sit down and they take you back. This is a great place to get your dental work done, they are a great team and it's clear that the whole team enjoys where they work. Dr. Glennon and staff personify smiles. They are professional, pleasant, and caring. I usually do not have cavities, but i do need twice yearly cleaning for tartar issues. Sylvia, a dental perfectionist, is very gentle and thorough. I briefly visited another dentist years ago and the "cleaning" was over in 15 minutes. I might as well have not bothered. I actually really enjoyed Dr. Rydell and the assistant. I thought the facility was very nice, and I felt very comfortable. However, I was dissapointed after paying $170 and they repeatedly said they didn't get the best x-rays they could have. I don't have insurance, so things add up quickly. They referred me to an oral surgeon. Although disappointing (because I would have to pay for another consultation and more x-rays) I did understand. When the oral surgeons receptionist requested the xrays that had already been taken I called ADC, and the receptionist told me that they would not want these xrays. She said unless that office called she would not send them over. Is that wierd? I paid for the xrays, the other doctor would like to see them, why wouldn't you just do it? Unfortuately, I was not able to get in sooner than 2 weeks with either oral surgeon. I made an appointment for exactly 2 weeks later, and a week later they called me back because THEY needed to reschedule, and the doctor wouldn't be in for another 2 weeks. I am getting married this week, and I am in a lot of pain, so I called ADC again for help. The receptionist then referred me to another doctor, so I tried. I work full time- I have clients that I can not call last minute to reschedule, so I was still unable to get in with anyone any sooner. The receptionist with attitude said. "I don't know what your problem is. I called both doctors that we referred you to and they have openings on Monday and Tuesday." I am a patient who called for help. I am in pain. "I don't know what your problem is"?!? How inconsiderate. It's unfortunate, because, I actually enjoyed Dr. Rydell, but I have no intentions of going back there after the treatment over the phone. read more

I started getting a slight pain in my tooth and had been avoiding the dentist for months knowing I would need a root canal. I was in Austin for work for two weeks and the pain became so intolerable that I had to find a dentist. I went solely off reviews and came across ADC. There are two Sarah's at the front desk and both are amazing. The first Sarah took my call, I told her my story and she immediately empathized with me and was even apologetic that she couldn't get me in until first thing in the morning. (It was almost 3pm on a Wednesday so I had zero expectations of getting in at all that week). The following day the same Sarah greeted me and remembered me from my phone call and got me all checked in. I then met Dr. Trinh who reviewed my X-rays and examination of my tooth. She was incredibly nice and non-judgmental and assured me they were going to get me all taken care of. I then met with the other Sarah to review the procedures and financial portion. This Sarah was equally as nice as everyone I had encountered and was very easy to talk to about the fees. She really helped me understand the insurance coverage. Then it was back to the chair where Dr. Trinh did such a great job with the local anesthetic and was so gentle, I actually fell asleep during my root canal! Keep in mind I was NOT sedated - I was just that comfortable. Fast forward to the following week when I went to get my crown and it was like a repeat of the previous appointment. I think everyone was even friendlier. I really wish I could remember the names of both dental hygienists I met with because they could not have been sweeter. The original Sarah finalized my appointment and handled my check out and was able to talk me through some more insurance questions I had. She was so knowledgeable! I typically go to Austin every other week for a couple of days and am now going to schedule my routine cleanings with Dr. Trinh and her team when I am in town. They were that amazing - if you are looking for a comfortable, friendly, judgement free zone - this is the place to go! read more

It had been a while since I saw a dentist and so I decided to give Austin dental center a try since it was only 5 minutes from the house. I am more than happy that I did! I didn't realize that the first time you come it's about a 3 hour process (X-rays, exams, teeth cleaning, basically the works) I told the staff that I was only able to do half the time and they were more than accommodating. Dr. Trinh and Maritsa were very efficient and continued to be so when I came back for more visits ( I told you it's been a while). Every time I'm there I feel right at home. Just like the other reviewer said, you do end up cracking up while they are working on you because they are very funny and yes I almost fell asleep during my root canal! That is how gentle Dr. Trinh is. Also, Dr. Trinh called to see how I was doing a week after the root canal, that is a level of service that I have never gotten with any other dentists. I could go on and on about how wonderful Dr. Trinh, Maritsa, Jessica and the entire staff are but I'm sure you get the idea. I highly recommend Austin dental center to anyone who will listen to me. read more
