I am 8 days post surgery after a bone graft, sinus lift, and extraction at Dr. Weil's pratice. This man is a excellent Physician/Oral Surgeon and his work is amazing. I was comfortable before, during, and after my surgery. I was able to go about my everyday business after surgery with no discomfort. Dr Weil called me later that day to check on my recovery, which was painless and comfortable. He gave me antibiotics and pain meds when I left his office, I only took the antibiotics because I had no pain. I was afraid and not looking forward to this surgery but Dr. Weil and his entire staff took excellent care of me. It is worth mentioning - my surgery was on December 23, I was told if I needed anything that I was to call and Dr Weil would be available throughout the Christmas holidays. I'm older that the average age for wisdom tooth removal and had some fear about the surgery. I researched and was careful to choose an oral surgeon with a lot of experience and a stellar reputation. I had my surgery a week ago and I'm really pleased with my decision. Everything about the experience put me at ease. Dr. Weil and his entire staff were competent, professional and kind. One of my teeth was "high risk" but he was able to remove it without incident and I've had no complications. My recovery has been quite smooth and I don't think I've had anything near the kind of pain I've heard so many people complain of with this procedure. Perhaps I'm just incredibly lucky, but I think I must owe some of this to Dr. Weil's skill as a surgeon. On top of that, he's a super nice guy. If I ever had the need, I'd return without hesitation. This October I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Weil at Austin Oral Surgery. I walked in a little nervous but immediately felt at ease as Jennifer brought me to the back. She was very friendly and welcoming! I was shortly met by Dr.Weil who looked at my panoramic x-ray and he clearly explained why I needed my wisdom teeth out. He went over the procedure and made sure I had no concerns before getting started. His two assistants Jennifer and Amanda (who is also very sweet and comforting) made me feel at ease as Dr. Weil began the procedure. To be honest, I rarely remember anything else that happened after that but I have videos to to show me what happened immediately after the surgery. I was pulled back into recovery and Dr. Weil went over the aftercare with my friend who was going to be taking care of me. The next day I got a phone call from Dr. Weil himself to check on me and see how I was doing! I have had no complications and recently had my post-op and everything was looking great. I was in a motorvehicle accident a few years back and broke my jaw. Years later I still have a lot of discomfort. I decided to look into my options for surgery and scheduled on appointment with Dr. Weil based on his stellar Yelp reviews. Unfortunately I didn't have the same positive experience that others have. Upon my first visit Dr. Weil seemed reluctant to do any kind of surgery and suggested I try physical therapy before I make my decision. That's fair. I saw a physical therapist over the next few months but didn't see much improvement so I returned for a follow up to see what my options were. Dr. Weil's assistant couldn't locate my MRI and therefore the visit was a complete waste. They didn't charge me for it which was fine, but I still left his office without any real answers. They said they would call me in the next few days to go over my treatment options once they located my MRI. I never heard from them so I called several times over the next couple weeks and kept getting their voicemail. I FINALLY spoke to his assistant over the phone who promised they would get back to me soon. It's now been 2.5 weeks and I have yet to hear anything. I will definitely not be back as I don't feel comfortable undergoing surgery with someone who can't keep track of their patient's records or needs. Very disappointing. read more

Two weeks ago I had surgery with dr Weil, gum lengthening on 8 teeth, implant and another infected tooth that he cleaned out (not sure how u call the procedure) He was amazing any way you take it.... confident, you can tell he has done this many times. Throughout the whole surgery he made sure I was ok , both him and his assistant deena ... Also he told me step by step what he was doing which made me feel better (he asked if I wanted him to tell me) I only have good words for him and the place. I was referred to Dr. Weil by both my regular dentist and my endodontist when a root canal procedure was unable to be completed due to a root curvature. I had a consultation with Dr Weil about the possibility of an apicoectomy rather than having to lose the tooth. Dr Weil is soft spoken, but direct and said he felt an apicoectomy could be done. It's a complex procedure but he's done hundreds (if not thousands) of them and is considered one of the best. The day of the procedure he was calm and reassuring and it was over before I knew it. Recovery involved minimal pain, but imagine my surprise to get a phone call from him 2 days later on a Sunday inquiring as to my progress. I've had 2 follow up appointments, both of which were quick and easy. I go back once more in 5 months, but all appears well. Dr. Weil's skill combined with his great "chair-side" manner makes him someone I highly recommend. read more

Dr Weil is the most sensitive caring doctor I have encountered. Not only did he guide me though the procedures for a necessary tooth implant, which by the way he performed impeccably, but he noticed on my chart that I am addicted to nicotine. Unbelievable experience . After breaking my front tooth off at the gumline I was devastated . My job requires me to be face to face with people all day and needless to say, missing a front tooth would not be good for business. So now I'm devastated and fearful of how to get this problem fixed. Worrying about the pain and the time It would take to del with this. Austin oral surgery got me in the next day on an emergency basis. Dr. Weil explained my options, the procedure and all of the risk factors to be taken into consideration. Now for the amazing part. Dr Weil extracted my tooth, placed an implant into the existing extraction site and screwed in my existing crown into the implant. I'm not exaggerating when I say I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort In any way. I just knew it was going to hurt when the anesthesia wore off but nothing. NO PAIN. Ok so it must come the next day, right? Nope no pain. So not only was there never any pain but you could not even tell which tooth was the implant. No bruising, no blood. No swelling. I've been delaying the process of extracting all my wisdom teeth my entire life. The only thing that put me at ease was knowing that Dr. Weil had an impeccable reputation. Needless to say I was very nervous but Ashley, one of the staff, kept my mind at ease and kept the conversation going to pass time on the day of my surgery. It was just another Friday for Dr. Weil and his staff but it was my first surgery and first time being put under. All of the sudden I was awake and feeling no pain. Days went by and I can safely say that it was nowhere as gruesome and painful as the internet says. I attribute most of that to Dr. Weil's expertise and 1% to my ability to follow the directions they gave me. Dr Weil has a gift from God and was born to do this type of profession. I was referred to him by my dentist, Dr Sonnier, who is also the best dentist. Dr Weil is fast (3 minutes) at pulling a tooth and there was no pain whatsoever. He has an amazing and gentle bedside manner, he gave me sort of a play by play which I greatly appreciated, he asked me several times if I was doing ok during the procedure which I need.
