My husband called because our heater needed a tune up. The echnician was great, knowledgeable and thorough. He said our unit was good, but the ducts needed to be replaced. We called for our quote and the sales person said our entire unit needed to be replaced, $4000. This was not marked on our paperwork. The new quote said nothing about ducts. When asked about that they said they'd talk to the technician and get back to us. They did, for our ducts to be replaced, $4000! Shady. We will be going elsewhere. I wouldn't trust them. read more

What a great, local company! Our A/C went out overnight during a heatwave -- it was literally 98 degrees IN the house with 107 degrees outside. We were cookin' in there! Called a few places and then called the place who's name was on the thermostat. They were booked out a few days but they offered after-hours service for a small fee. I gratefully took it and the technician was amazing. He stayed in contact with me throughout the evening and let me know when he was on his way, and then again when he was 15 minutes out. He arrived and was so kind. Quickly diagnosed the problem and got to work solving it. We were back in business within an hour. A HUGE thank you to Jessee HVAC and this amazing technician (who's name I didn't catch but will be calling to get later on so I can send him proper kudos! read more

An exceptionally good experience from beginning to end. We've lived in our home for so long that this is the second time we have replaced all the ductwork and put in an all new HVAC system. I read a lot about the various brands of equipment on the market and decided Carrier would be the best for a variety of reasons. We chose Jessee because they are the local dealer for Carrier. Our house was built in the 1930s, and sometimes that fact alone scares off tradesmen. Chuck Anderson was not put off, and gave us a quote that we felt was reasonable and scheduled the job promptly. The work took a little longer than planned (partly because we added to the scope), but Jaren and Chris worked hard to get it done and were always cheerful and friendly even while working in a funky old basement and crawling under the house. We scheduled a visit to service our a/c unit. The technician was supposed to be there between 2 and 4 pm. At 5 pm they still had not showed up or contacted me. I called the office but they were already gone for the day. The after hours operator couldn't help me. Very unprofessional. I'd expect more from a company that charges $184 to service my unit. This was our first and last experience with Jessee if it's up to me. Update: the technician, Ray, showed up at 7pm. After a good conversation I decided to let him do the service after all. Expensive and terrible. PG&E came out and did a health and safety on our wall heater. According to them it could be fixed. We called Jesse Heating and A/C, they said it could be repaired. They quoted $1330. to repair. or $1700 to replace. Next thing I know 60 days has gone by still no repair. We call they have changed their mind, now it needs to be replaced. Was referred to the service manager Chuck. He was going to come out on 2 different occasions, no show no call. From him or the company. I was dealing this this issue myself. The agreement was to have Chuck look at the heater and advise us after the Tech completely changed his diagnosis. Next thing I know, no call they just show up. Replace the wall heater. Now the bill is $1900. Don't deal with Chuck.... Never again. read more

Great service the technician Ray was phenomenal. He helped answer questions and took the time to go over the problem I was experiencing.

We had Jessee Heating and Air install a new system for us in the spring. All of the technicians were awesome and have since been extremely quick to respond with questions we've had. Nate and the other really nice technician quickly came out today (Saturday) to address a chirping sound coming from one of the mini-splits. After spending a lot of time trying to diagnose the issue, they realized it was a carbon monoxide detector buried in a junk drawer. My air conditioning went out on the hottest day we have had so far. Nate came out and got the unit running. I am sure he was on his way home, but came anyway. He was awesome! We rent through IPM and this was who they used when the AC went out. It was out for 15 days before being fixed, and the tech left our hose running for who knows how long. We decided to stay elsewhere while our house had no AC so we didn't realize the hose had been left running. We got a note from our neighbor saying they turned our hose off because our yard was flooding. Thanks guys, my water bill was actually doubled this month and I don't think that timing is coincidental. Long story short, avoid this company. read more

Was supposed to have a technician come out today and fix our AC unit since it went out again after they fixed it last summer. It started leaking freon again and now does not get cold. After 4pm you cannot get ahold of anyone if the technicians do not show. They also no-showed last summer as well when our AC unit went out. I emailed the company and I'm hoping to get a response back soon because this is absolutely ridiculous. How this company is still in business with multiple reviews almost identical to mine is absurd. We purchased a brand new HVAC unit from this company in the summer of 2017 after our old unit broke. After our installation, we had a number of frustrating experiences with Jessee Heating and Air. A few of our concerns: In August of 2018, we hit our final straw. After scheduling an appointment, Jessee's NO CALL NO SHOWED for an appointment. Our appt had been scheduled from noon-3. At 3:15, someone did call to say that we were "Next" and that someone would be arriving shortly. Nobody showed up. Nobody called to after that 3:15 call to say that they wouldn't be coming. Prior to this, early in July of 2018, we had called during business hours to mention that our less than 1 year old top of the line HVAC unit wasn't working properly. We were transferred to the scheduler and told to leave a message and that someone would call us back. Nobody called us back during business hours. We called again around 6 or 7 in the evening. The after hours scheduler said that they'd get ahold of the on call tech. The on call tech NEVER called back the after hours secretary. We exchanged multiple phone calls every few hours to check in and the after hours secretary said that they'd reach out to the owner explaining that the on call person never returned her calls. By 10:45 pm, with our new AC unit still not working, we finally gave up. The next morning, at 10 am, someone called and apologized saying that the on call person "fell asleep" the night before and that someone would be right over. We were then charged $225 for using after hour service, even after 1) attempting to call during business hours and being ignored 2) having the after hours person "fall asleep" and not get back to us 3) the unit being less than 1 year old and we belonged to their "service plan" 4) Having a Jessee Heating and Air technician come to do a routine service appointment just 2 weeks earlier and then not having that routine service appointment work guaranteed. Later in July, we had concerns AGAIN and told that we were a priority to get this situation resolved and that someone would be right over. This was at 3pm. Nobody ended up calling to update their arrival status until nearly 7pm. At this appointment, they informed us that the brand new unit that the coil on the brand new unit that they installed was defective. This is when we made the appointment for the August date that Jessee's NO CALL, NO SHOWED for. These are just a few of the issues that we had in our experience with Jessee's, there are others. Most of these include not being called back, delays in service time, poor customer service and being disorganized regarding scheduling services. To be fair, there do seem to be a few people at their company that can do good work in a reliable fashion, it is just really hard to know who you are going to get when you do call. For us as customers, especially as customers that spent the amount of money with them on a new HVAC, we expected a much higher level of service than the above examples. We called another company in town to repair the unit in August and have had no problems since then. The company that we used is the #1 for reviews on Yelp and we'd highly recommend using that company instead. read more

So my heater decided to go out for the Thanksgiving holiday which sucks. I called jessee. They said that there were too many people in front of me to get to me that day so they said that I would be their first priority and first call the next day, the tech gave me a time frame of 8:30-10 am. I called at 9:30 just to make sure they were still coming. The answering service sent their message to call me to the tech. I got no call back. I called again at 10:15 past the time frame given. The answering service again left a message with the tech to call me. Still no call back. I called again at 11 and again the service left a message with the tech to call me. What do you know I did not receive a call back so I called at 11:30 and cancelled my service. This is not how this should have gone. I ended up going with a different company who came right out! read more

Wanted a while house fan. The sales person who came to set up the bid/contract was super nice. Unfortunately, after waiting 2 weeks for my install date, the crew was supposed to arrive at 8am. After no one showed and not hearing from Jessee's, I called in and found out an employee didn't show up to work and I was going to have to wait until after the weekend until they could come over. Wouldn't have been too much of a problem if they'd of called me. After adjusting my schedule to be home during the day for the install that never happened, I went with another company. Too bad for the sales person though because he was a good guy. read more

Jesse's did the original install in my custom build home 18 years ago. I have 2 hvac units. This last summer during the Chico summer heat I had issues with both units. Our AC stopped pumping out cold air, and a Jessee tech came and "repaired" our unit. Our place is two years old and our AC has a freon refrigerant leak. The tech did not fix the leak, but just refilled the freon. Since our place is two years old, he should have been able to put two and two together and realize there was a leak. A few weeks later, the vents were all leaking water. The same tech came by and once again, "fixed" the problem. A few weeks later, they started leaking again. Less than a week after he came, the AC unit stopped working due to the freon running out because of the leak that Jessee heating and air failed to notice. Out of frustration, we switched to another company, which quickly came out and diagnosed the issue. Jessee heating and air improperly installed the AC unit when the place was built a couple years back. Because of their own screw up, our unit developed a freon leak. The second company could not fix the issue because they were not the ones that installed the unit, so we contacted Jessee again and told them exactly what was wrong with it and why. Even though Jessee was the reason our AC unit was not working, they were very reluctant to come fix it. We finally got a tech to come out and fix it. He came by and diagnosed the issue and left without telling me anything. He had the green light to fix the issue on the spot, but left anyways without telling me anything! He was under the impression that he could not fix the issue today due to some policy, which was not true. Now, we are waiting for these idiots to schedule an actual fix to the leak. Jessee heating and air is the reason we are having problems with our AC, and getting them to fix it has been nothing short of a nightmare. read more

He advised me he was still in the office (their office is in Chico, I'm in Oroville) I asked him why no one bothered to even call us, no response so I said if this the way they do business they won't be getting mine. Jessee's has maintained my elderly mother's furnace and A/C for several years now and I have recently been helping her with the maintenance as well as the installation of a new Nest thermostat. I really appreciate how helpful the staff is at Jessee's, particularly Stephanie in the office and John in the field. Since I live in the Bay Area, having a local company like Jessee's look after my mother's heating & A/C needs is a real priority. Stephanie has been great about scheduling, especially today when there was an issue with the Nest t-stat due to what appears to be a home wifi problem. John installed the Nest a few months ago (as well as doing the preventative maintenance) and was very skilled and knowledgeable. He expedited his service visit today and quickly put the Nest in manual mode so my mother can have heat until I figure out the wifi problem. Overall, I couldn't be happier and know my mother really appreciates their kindness and helpfulness. read more

The heating on my elderly parent's HVAC unit stopped working a few days before Christmas. Jessee told them that the circuit board was busted and it couldn't be fixed so they needed to purchase a brand new $9500+ unit. Luckily my parents got a second opinion from another company who fixed the unit by simply reconnecting a loose ground wire. They also said it wouldn't have been a problem to find a replacement circuit board if it were indeed broken. My parent's neighbor had a similar experience with Jessee. These guys either don't know what they are doing or are crooks. Stay away or get a second opinion if they try to sell you anything. read more

So I call Jessie heat and air because the furnace is no longer producing heat, still blows air but no heat, after all, they put in the heat and air unit originally. The guy spends about an hour in the attic (chats on his cellphone), then talked to my wife and gives her the bad news. She calls me, I speak to the technician who tells me that we need a new furnace. He tells me that he's 100% certain that we need a new unit. That he always hates to be the bearer of bad news. I ask him to leave me a price list that I can review when I get home from work. He leaves his cell phone number as a contact. The estimate says that the tubing from the heat exchanger has a fracture. I decided to check to see if this would be a warranty part. Sure is, 20 year warranty on that part. I called his cell number just to verify that this is in fact the part that is requiring the entire $4000 unit to be replaced. He says it is. I tell him, great news because it's covered under warranty. He tells me he needs to call the office first thing in the morning to verify they installed the original unit. He called me the next day, and gives me the good news. The part is covered under warranty, and it will only cost me $800 to repair. So I went from a $4000 unit that he was absolutely certain I needed, to a warranty part (my own research) that's only going to cost me $800. Interesting??? I decided on a second opinion through Gallagher heat and air. Scott was very nice and obviously knew what he was doing. 10 minutes into it, he comments on the poor wiring that someone had done previously. He was able to definitively diagnose the circuitboard as the issue. I ask about the heat exchanger. He finds nothing wrong with this particular part. Even if there was a fracture, this would not be the reason for the furnace to stop producing heat. It's still would've worked, however it would've been dangerous too. Ended up costing me $600. Pretty obvious who I will call next time. Hope it doesn't cost you too much if you still go through Jesse heat and air. Good luck!!! read more

Jesse Heating and Air has come out to my house about 4 times now within a 2 month period. They came by and claimed a certain part was broken and would take a week to get the part and fix and was able to get the heater working for about 5 days. After installing the part he claimed heater was fixed and it wasn't. When we called him around 6pm to inform him that the heater still wasn't working he said, "Well it was working when I left, and I can't make it out tonight you won't get anyone out there tonight." The next day he came back to further investigate the heater to which he claimed that he had to actually inspect the whole heating component to find that there was a different part that actually needed to be replaced. He then informed us that it would take ANOTHER week to get the actual part that needed to be replaced. He also said he would bring a couple space heaters for us to use in the mean time since we have a 2 year old and an 8 year old and it has been 58-60 degrees in our house. He didn't bring the space heaters that evening so we called him and he informed us he would drop them off the next day. The next day we waited until about 3pm and still no space heater so we called and he never answered or called us back. He never brought us space heaters. This company is so unprofessional and clearly don't know what they are doing nor do they care if their customers have children and are freezing in their house...Will never do business with them again nor will we recommend them!!! read more

I was recommended this company when I moved to here and I have to say I will never recommend them to anyone! The first time I called was for a heating and a/c service for our new house and for a drip pan the house inspector recommended. They rescheduled on me once and were late the 2nd time. They did the heating service but refused the air condition condition service until that time of year. Ok. I can see this. Then I get a call to schedule for install of a drip pan... which I thought was already done?? They never told me they didn't do it. So I scheduled a month or so out so that they can do the pan and the a/c service the same time and I can take less time off work ... keeping in mind I already paid for this service with their "annual service plan." They have now cancelled last minute on me 3 times. The last time they cancelled on me I told them I'm not missing any more work you guys need to come after 5pm. The lady said next week at 5:15pm and I get a phone call today 4:15 staying the tech was there and the service was scheduled at 4:15pm. The dispatch lady said "she can't hold a tech that long". The original appt was at 5:15! I have sense requested the owner to call me and refund me since he was unavailable to talk to immediately. Never will do service with them again and I have given them numerous chances to correct themselves! read more

I called this morning (Mon) because my furnace went out this weekend. They were VERY professional on the phone. Promised me a same day appt between 2 & 4. 30 minutes later they called and stated that a tech had freed up and could be here in 30 minutes. Steve showed up quickly, I shared what I knew about the situation (me changing out thermostat from the non-operating WiFi unit and that I may have done something wrong). He was glad to know where to start and where not to. Within minutes he had diagnosed the issue, a bad 24volt transformer. He had one on the truck, within 15 minutes my furnace was back in operation. My furnace is nearly 28 years old and I know that I should be replacing it completely pretty soon. But since Jessee HVAC doesn't push their techs to sell (like certain other companies), I was saved the grief of having to go through a sales pitch. When I do decide to spend some serious money I will get a couple of bids, but if these guys are even in the running with price, I will look no further. It is a pleasure to do business with them. This job was $85 for the diagnostic charge and $148 for the part. No extra labor for the installation. In and out time was 60 minutes. I believe that is a very fair price and I actually have heat back on in only 2 hours from my first call. I doubt that they can always be this quick, but it was sure nice to have such luck today. This company just exudes professionalism from the moment they pick up the phone until saying goodbye to the tech.....great experience! read more

I had a very old freestanding gas furnace in the front room of my 100 year old home that I wanted to replace with a wall furnace. Being an old house there were challenges, the old furnace was tied into an old chimney, too thin walls, thick beams in odd places, but their crew was up to the challenge . They did a great job, even fabricating a vent cover ( the one in the kit wouldn't fit because of the retrofitting of the flue) and thoroughly cleaned up the job site upon completion. They also put a chimney cover on the old chimney. I was very pleased with their work, price and professionalism. read more

Recently my swamp cooler went on the fritz and I called them out. They said unit needed to be replaced or fixed, nothing else. I called them several times and each time I was to receive calls back. They never called back. Meanwhile I am dying in the heat. Finally got a hold of them and they said they would not work on my unit due to safety issues. REALY?! You couldn't have told me this in the first place? I could have had another company look at the unit weeks ago. Choose someone else if you have HVAC needs in Chico. read more
