My second overall visit here. Tonight I opted for the Friday and Saturday night special, the garlic crusted prime rib. I dare say that the lean parts lacked some flavor, and I was surprised it did not come with a separate cup of au jus. However, the mashed potatoes were out of this world good and the veggies also had a flavor punch, so just make a bite of the lean meat with the sides and you're all set! Overlooking the Hop Brook Golf Course, Jesse Camille's is a rustic eatery offering classic pub food with fresh ingredients. It has a homey ambiance inside featuring rustic touches. They also hold the recognition for having one of the most amazing outdoor patios in the state. My martini arrived shaken and served in a standard stemless glass with a very generous pour to the brim. While the drink was slightly watered down from the preparation, it still hit the spot. The olives were a bit bruised and lacked that sharp, briny punch I look for. Even though it was pretty busy due to walk-ins and a private event, the affable bartender ensured the great guest experience was delivered. While it took about an hour for my burger to arrive, I enjoyed it very much once it did. The kitchen executed a perfect medium-rare, and the thick patty had a delicious grilled flavor. I noticed the new additional renovations and additions to the restaurant - they've added more patio seatings and outdoor dining for those to take advantage of in good weather. You get a fantastic view of the tranquil river crossing by and the nice greens. I noticed they can also accommodate for large parties with a tent in the back of their lot in case you wish to host an event there. When we arrived we were given the choice of where to sit and the staff patiently accommodated us as we debated which table was best. Once sat and attended to, our food came quickly. We tried the pasta a la vodka, chicken Parmesan and the signature JC burger. Their portions are more than enough and plenty to take home after if you do not finish. JC burger was served with a soft brioche bun, and I found it quite decent sized (everyone knows a place where they serve burgers bigger than your face's size). Came here to celebrate my wife's birthday with the family. 12 of us all together. We were seated for our reserved time on time. Drinks were ordered and came quickly. We placed our order and waited and waited. Server came out and apologized for the delay. We started with the burrata which was decent. Then the meal came. Both of the chicken parm grinders were unseasoned no mozzarella and the rolls were hard as a rock. The chicken wrap was missing the ranch dressing we asked for it twice it never arrived. I ordered the prime rib. It was cold. The fat was hard as a rock. Don't know when they cooked it but it wasn't the same day I bet. Sent it back. It came back after literally being microwaved. The owner is quick to regale you with his New England charm and if there is any issue with your evening out, he will always do his best to rectify the situation. The loquacious bar manager is a great mixologist and seasonal beverages are always available. As far as the food goes, there's weekly specials as well as the general fare. Do yourself a favor and order the ahi tuna appetizer, you won't regret it. Despite being busy due to the proximity to Hop Brook golf course the servers are always cordial and helpful. I've often driven past here but never had the time or reason to stop by. One of my friends was playing here one night, so it was as good a time as any. I dragged Writer Friend along with me, after having dinner elsewhere that evening. I had assumed that the entertainment would be in the lounge, but it ended up being in one of the dining rooms. The host/owner (not sure which) assured us that we were more than welcome to sit in there with cocktails, so that's what we did, selecting a very decent bottle of wine from their extensive wine list. Luckily, it was a slower night so there was no demand for our table for diners. In fact, there were several other table who came in just for the entertainment. However, we learned, as we watched and smelled servers bring food to other tables, that we should plan eating where the entertainment is--everything looked delicious and plentiful. Boy I really wanted this place to be good but unfortunately it was just sort of ok. When we arrived we were sort of confused as to where to enter. I think they have about 2-3 different entry ways. Finally we got in through the bar section and started to look for someone to get us seated. To be fair it looked like there was a party finishing but it was a bit confusing. The restaurant has several dining spots: the bar area, dining room and a patio. We chose the patio which looked like the best option. For starters we had an appetizer which was calamari with a sprinkle of blue cheese. We really liked the calamari, it was cooked perfectly and the marinara sauce was good. For lunch I had the bbq steak tips sandwich and my gf had the fish and chips. My gf liked her fish but my steak tips were not too good. Went with some friends. Ordered the shrimp as an appetizer. It didnt come. The meal was served and I had the Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna (Excellent). Asked the waiter to get me soy sauce and wasabi. He stated that it comes with the meal. It came with watered down wasabi and no soy. He did go back and get that for me. At the conclusion of the diner I told him to cancel the shrimp. He brought it out anyway and said he was sorry and would "comp" it. He didn't but they didn't forget to add their 20% tip. Time before that ordered an entrée that was supposed to be sautéed with a butter/ wine/ garlic sauce. It wasn't. It tasted like straight up Beef broth., Disgusting. This place is hit or miss. Mixed Review: The ambiance at Jesse Camille's is lovely! Lots of wood, glass, artwork and seasonal decor! Definitely cozy and welcoming! The service was great, efficient fast and friendly. Our appetizers, Parmesan truffle wings and spinach and artichoke dip were both delicious, the wings were crispy (breaded deep fried type) and juicy on the inside and seasoned just right and the dip had huge chunks of artichoke and full fresh spinach leaves, in a very thick cheesy creamy sauce - just how I like it! Unfortunately our entrees were not as good. I picked the Chicken Marscapone Marsala and substituted the rice for extra green beans. The chicken was tough and overcooked, there were literally 2 pieces of mushroom and the sauce whilst spot on for flavor was extremely watery, as you can see on the edges of the plate on the picture. The green beans were delicious and the highlight of the dish. And I have no idea where the Marscapone is in the dish ... it was missing as far as I could see. The pasta in vodka sauce was ok but not at all creamy as it should be, and the French dip had no cheese and was very dry but did have a lot of meat. Google reviews were 4.3 stars but I'd say YELPs 3.5 is much more appropriate. read more

In my review, I forgot to mention, that our waitress, Melanie was fantastic. We had many questions about the menu, and she knew every answer. She made wonderful recommendations, and she was honest enough to say that we would probably enjoy this entrée more than that entrée. We asked her not to rush us and once she served the appetizers she didn't put the next order in until we said it was OK and she did that with each thing we ordered so we could spend lots of time just enjoying the meal and our conversations. Came here for dinner last night. Food was great, service was awful. Our waitress never came over to check on how our entrees were. She was bartending at the same time, and watched her take shots behind the bar. The only time she came over was AFTER we had been done with our food for a while and just needed boxes and a check at that point. This was a little gem of a surprise! My family and I traveled to Naugatuck over the weekend as they were hosting a Christmas walk through. By time we were done, it was time for a late lunch. We stumbled upon this place. At first I was hesitant as it was connected to a golf course and did not know what to expect. We did a quick google on the menu and the first thing I saw was a drink called "Fancy Like Espresso Martini" and "Chasing After You Pumpkin Tini" and I was sold! It was very cute and homey inside. Our server Kasey was very sweet. The kids shared chicken tenders and we ordered the Irish Nachos to share. My husband had a meat trio of some sort and I ordered their version of a cobb salad with blackened chicken. The food was delicious, when we received our bill I was very surprised at the affordability of the menu. After our lunch- I took the kids for a walk on the grounds as there is a cute bridge and waterway right outside. I have been here several times before and decided to come back again for dinner. The restaurant is the main hub for the adjoining golf course and has a good crowd most nights. I have had a few items from the menu and I have enjoyed them all for the most part. The JC sampler is usually a very good choice but tonight I had the scallops. They were cooked very well and the lobster roll my wife had was great as well. One time, prior to COVID-19, we went for the prime rib dinner and it wasn't as good as usual. An older couple sitting at a table nearby asked if the regular cook was away because the meal was not as good as usual. Other than that time, we have always had a good experience there. There are a few ways to get in that aren't clearly marked. The outside seating area can be accessible by walking through the grass from the parking lot or go around to the bar entrance and there is a deck entrance as well. They also do private parties along with fundraiser and school support events. read more

We ordered Jesse Camille's Easter meals this year during the pamdemic and it was phenomenal. We had the chicken francaise and sliced ribeye. So after a bad experience since we moved here last summer, I gave Jesse camilles another chance with to-go I got a J's burger with sweet potatoe fries which was ok however we had to wait extra time at pick up (30 minutes) and they made my burger wrong forgetting all the toppings ending up with a plain burger bacon cheese burger and previously charged for a specialty . We went there on a post-internment lunch and found the staff totally helpful, understanding and as well, providing for excellent food. The facilities are located right next to the Hop Brook Golf course, and is well attended by golfers and visitors alike. The restaurant is not a white-linen table type, but instead a more rustic feel with large wooden tables. Jesse Camille's is the restaurant on Hop Book Golf Course. It is open to the public so you don't need to golf to eat here. I live right around the corner but haven't eaten here since after a private party years ago. There are plenty of parking spaces although the driveway is tight when you drive in. Outside there is a patio that overlooks the stream. It's cute. Inside the dining area is behind a door. I love this because it is completely separate from the bar folk. Our waiter was friendly and helped us verify restrictions form the Groupon we were using. The food is such a bummer, hence the 3 stars. We ordered two glasses of house wine, the spinach artichoke dip app, and I ordered the scallop pesto w/ angel hair pasta. The dip was topped with an inch of melted cheese and underneath there was barely any spinach and no obvious artichoke. It was so greasy I tilted it to pour the grease out. Then my pasta came. The cherry tomatoes were overcooked (so just tough pink skin) and the pasta was sitting in so much butter/oil. My boyfriend got a new menu item, the turkey tips. They were flavorful but there were about 5 one-inch cubes. The price was too high for the portions we were served. I certainly wouldn't call this food 'fresh'. I would describe it as comfort food intended for an Italian-American pub fare. Pros: They cater to small groups/parties.There's free wi-fi. Cons: Food is priced too high and is extremely greasy. The restaurant features a ful bar, tvs and a patio area, which has outdoor heaters for when there is a chill in the air. Seating is also available on the lawn, directly adjacent to the brook. They have an excellent beer list, and serve good mixed drinks of a decent size. The service is reasonably fast and very friendly, but not too friendly. There is a banquet room, a dining room and an area in the bar with high tables, each area having a cozy, but different ambiance. The food is served hot and in generous portions and it's all tasty. The restaurant has daily specials most days and a Sunday brunch. I would definately recommend Jesse's for work related lunches and dinners as well as date night. read more
