But other times the meat is like sawdust. The customer service is the most frustrating. Pickup orders are almost never ready when they say it will be. I found Jerusalem Grill on my trusty Yelp and decided to give them a try. We were able to find free street parking right out front. When we entered, we were greeted by a lovely woman. We were impressed with the benches/decor. We sat ourselves and started looking at the menu. We decided what we wanted and were a little confused as to whether we were supposed to go order at the counter or if someone was going to come to take our order. The tables were set like a dine in restaurant, so we assumed someone would come take our order. It took a few minutes of us waiting before the lady finally came over. She was really nice, but a suggestion would be for her to come to the table and maybe say something like, "let me get you waters and I'll be back to take your order," or something along those lines. We really were confused since it took so long for her to come to our table. We almost went to order at the counter. We ordered the falafel, fries, combo (chicken, steak, and kefta kabob). The falafel was very dry and not very flavorful/fresh. A tiny side of sauce accompanied it, definitely not enough for how dry it was and for how many balls it came with. The fries were seasoned and really good. My combo was good, the rice was good but not the best I've had. The combo came with some sort of garlicky sauce that really took the meats to another level. Without the sauce, I would say the food was probably 3.5 stars. With the sauce, it's a solid 4. We really enjoyed the music they had playing in there and they were really nice. We probably wouldn't be back but not because it wasn't good food, but rather because it was a little further from us and there are just so many more places for us to try! read more

Have driven by this spot tons of times since moving to the area and finally decided to stop in and feed my hunger for Mediterranean food. I placed a to-go order for the Mixed Grill entree and a Baba Ghanouj appetizer to sample as much as my stomach would limit. For starters, the meat was awesome. They were all cooked perfectly...a little charred but still tender and juicy. They were all flavored well and my favorite was the beef kabob, followed by the kefta at a close second. The grilled veggies included onion, tomato, a pepper and were also charred nicely. This was all served over rice which was okay, and seemed it was lacking flavor/seasoning. The baba ganouj was also just okay for me. It had good smoky eggplant flavor, good consistency, but was just a little salty. It was also served with only 2 pitas which was definitely not enough for the large serving of baba ghanouj. Overall I spent around $23 and thought there were some hits and a couple misses. For perspective, I used to live by Shawarma Inn in Park Ridge and for the same price as the mixed grill entree here, I would also get the 3 meats, but get more rice, plus a side salad, plus lentil soup, plus free pitas. So while the meats at Jerusalem Grill are great, I would probably consider making the drive to Park Ridge before paying more for less if I'm ever seeking Mediterranean food again. With that said, I would still definitely come back here and give the other things on the menu a try. read more

I will begin here, I have gone passed this location every day when I come from work. Today with my support of local businesses. I took the walk from my house for a pick up for dinner. I will happily say I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in. Which is definitely a plus. Despite of the no dine in rule, the location is very clean. The staff is very friendly. She was very polite and helpful. I ordered the mixed grill plate along with kibbeh which was very good. I added a side of fries, for 2.99 it was a very decent portion. Lastly, for dessert I picked up some baklava, that was also very good. Thank you Jerusalem Grill for amazing food, service and more. I will be definitely returning soon. First time order today and got it delivered from Door Dash. Food was amazing. I ordered the Beef Shawarma Plate. Was literally shocked how much beef you get with that for 12 bucks. Half the tray was delicious yellow rice and the other half was just pure meat 2 inches deep in a big 10 inch aluminum container. Meat was sliced thin, tender, and wasn't a bad piece in the bunch (no Fatty pieces). There was so much beef that I was able to fully stack the shawarma on a pita (piled on) and still had over half the Beef Sharma left in the container. Very happy with the food/amount/cost. Came here on a Friday at lunchtime with my GF -- we were looking for something Mediterranean and a bit off the beaten path not far from Oak park. Jerusalem Grill seemed to fit those criteria well. The restaurant itself occupies a storefront next door to a Middle Eastern Market. There is parking out back, though I was able to find free street parking nearby after some hunting. Our server could not have been nicer or more helpful. She answered questions, made a suggestion for an order substitution to get a better value, and was attentive without being intrusive. I wish half of the waitstaff I meet would observe this young woman in action. For beverages, I got an Arabic coffee, and my GF asked whether they had lemonade. They said yes, and that they made it with a bit of mint. The coffee was great - a fairly generous portion for Arabic coffee, and the lemonade was nice if a bit sweet. Could be perfect for your taste, obviously. I ordered a beef shawarma plate (which came with fries) and my companion got the beef shawarma sandwich. The sandwiches were served hot and cut up into pieces for easier eating The meat was flavorful and packed into the wrap nicely. Good stuff. I ordered food on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 7:30 PM and the food arrived 2 hrs later. Aside from the food arriving late- it was not what we ordered. I requested a Gyro entree with roasted vegetables and a pita bread and received thickly cut gyro meat on a bed of rice! No pita bread for the meal was provided. The food was late, cold and incorrect. This was after we had decided we were not gonna order from our last experience and decided to give it one more try- When the food arrived at 9:30 I called almost 40 times and received a busy signal. We couldn't wait to try this place and didn't know what to expect so glad we did. The hummus was perfectly creamy, little thick and flavorful. It had a slight pickled topping which I've never had on hummus and to my surprise we really liked it. The lentil soup not what I expected, it was yellowish I was expecting a brown color like I normally see - but i have to say we were not disappointed. Great taste and texture. Great value for the money, with very generous portions all for under $10. I also liked that I was able to add one falafel to the meal instead of ordering the entire appetizer portion. I was at the grocery store next to grill and it is amazing what they offer.. frozen or fresh food it is amazing, gentlmen was polite and since I was in hurry he helped me to pick up some things and run. We have had multiple delivery issues with this restaurant. But we REALLY like their food, and being from a culture with similar food, I'm quite picky! So we've just dealt with it. Today we ordered through grubhub, and after after the food was over a half hour late called the restaurant for an eta. The young man on the phone said the driver brought the food back to them, didn't tell them why and left, and that they could not find another driver. I asked why they didn't call and they indicated that they tried and gave me a number that was not mine. I checked the receipt and it was not the number given to them. I asked why they did not call grubhub, and he said that they are unable to contact grubhub unless grubhub calls them first. Being someone who has ran restaurants, I know this is not true. We had crossed this place off our list due to the delivery issues plus bring lied to by an employee, until the owner called and explained the issue with the delivery service they have been using and how it has been challenging to find an in house driver and that the young man on the phone is a new employee. He was very kind and apologetic and tried to make up for this with us, which we appreciate. So we will try again, just maybe for pick-up next time. read more
