Will be my final update as I am pretty sure the cashier purposely forgets my order, maybe hit a nerve with my previous reviews. I ordered online this time, and after the last two experiences it honestly was my fault coming back. Placed the order at 9:10 got inside at 9:20pm, showed the cashier my order, and she just nodded her head. 20 minutes go by, people who ordered AFTER me in the restaurant had received their orders. I go to the cashier and I'm like is my order ready? She looks at the cooks and it seemed like they didn't even start getting it ready. They started rushing to work on it. At this point, I give up. Tim Tim's Halal Grill just was not the best experience for me. I used to come here with my dad when I was younger, but it seems like either the ownership or the business itself has changed quite a bit since then. I ordered what I used to get all the time, the beef gyro with fries and a milkshake. The food took a really long time to come out, probably around 15 to 20 minutes, which felt excessive for what we ordered. Pricing was also just okay and honestly felt a bit overpriced for the quality. The milkshake was disappointing and tasted like it was just made with basic Hershey's syrup. The gyro itself was fine but nothing memorable or special. The fries were honestly the best part of the meal. I would probably try another spot before coming back, unless they improve the pricing or make some changes. read more

I had the best swiss-mushroom smashburger in Saudi in 2019. Ever since then I've been on a search for something similar. I think their swiss mushroom burger is the closest I've ever had. This very small place packs a punch. The staff is friendly and they also have a drive thru. I ordered the grilled chicken tacos. They came loaded with perfectly cooked chicken pieces and tons of lime and cilantro. The meat was juicy yet a bit dry for my liking. The rice was good, nothing spectacular and same for the beans. There are a lot of things in the menu that remind you of a casual diner and burger vibes. The quality of the meat is good and overall you will leave satisfied. read more

My Wife and I were blown away at how tasty the food was. Everything was very flavorful and well seasoned. And the prices were great for the portion sizes which were generous. My Fire Burger especially was a good full sized burger. And best of all everything was halal. Everyone working here was very polite and accommodating. They let us go into the back to wash our hands before we ate. The inside seating is very limited since this is a very small place. They did have an outside seating area so in the summer time there is more seating. They had an extensive menu including delicious Mexican food. read more

Tried their Chicago hot dog and the hot dog *only*! A friend local to the area was surprised they have "double dog" on the menu--and it's what I ordered (with no mustard or relish). As soon as I finished it I regretted not ordering more! Warm staff and they speak Spanish! My love and I were on a late-morning stroll when we decided to get a bite to eat at Tim Tim's, located on an awkward lot on Montrose and Keokuk. This was my first time at Tim Tim's though I have had food from this location when it was a previous establishment. This is basically a burger shack, with a tiny interior that has a few tables. There is also some outdoor seating on metallic chairs, but we feared burning our booties in the summer sun, so we chose to eat indoors. There were a couple of peeps ordering takeout, but everyone cleared out by the time our food came out. There are a few parking spaces as well. The diverse menu lists quite a few value meals that include fries and a fountain drink, so that's the way to go. My love went with the cheeseburger meal, and I chose the weirdly named gym shoe meal. I have heard about the existence of a "gym shoe" sandwich in Chicago, so I just had to try it out. It's sort of like a "garbage" sandwich with many ingredients, or a stacked version of the Wreck served at Potbelly's. My gym shoe included roast beef, corned beef, gyros meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo (and possibly other toppings) on a toasted sub roll. It's a tasty sandwich that somehow was not overly messy, and each of us took half of our food to go. The fries taste good and have a nice crispiness to them. read more

Overall, everything was "just okay." What intrigued me the most about the menu was the wide array of all different types of foods from a variety of different cultures; from Mexican food to Mediterranean-skip the Mexican here. We ordered the gyro plate, steak nachos and an order of samosas. The samosa was my favorite part. It had a flavorful seasoning in the inside and the size of one was huge. Plates come with fries. I would suggest to skip any plates as the fries were just okay. The gyro meat wasn't the best, was a bit hard and lacked flavor. Their steak nachos came with small bits of steak and their chips were not the best. Again, very very average. Amazing food with amazing service. It's a small hole in the hole Mexican joint with limited seating that lends it its credence of being an authentic foodie joint. The fresh cut fries are topped with a generous amount of flavorful gyro meat, green peppers, onions, and nacho cheese. One order is large enough to share with at least 3-4 people. Um hello, where have you been all my life? We live in the neighborhood, just across the highway but have not been here until this week. What a shame because this place is fantastic. I was craving a gyro and our regular gyro spot was closed. We picked up a gyro, a philly cheesesteak, and fries for Saturday night and my goodness they were delicious. What sets this place apart is the fries. I feel like at most of these red hots type places, fries are an after thought. They added fries because it wouldn't be a complete meal with the fries, but I end up throwing most of it away because 1. there are so many (focus on quantity) and 2. they're just not good enough to warrant wrapping up, putting in the fridge and reheating another day. The fries here though, oh my God, I didn't even use ketchup. It was unnecessary. They were so flavorful, clearly double fried in tallow and not some vegetable oil. This is how fries at McDonalds were before the media assassinated saturated fat. We will be back, and will be getting extra fries. read more

Their food is Halal, and there is a big Islamic presence in our neighborhood. I pass through here frequently and never noticed this little snack shop. It could be because I hate Susie's. I'm a Chicagoan that is over you Susie! Not your common grill, char house or snack shop. It's been remodeled recently and is clean & smell free! You know, a lot of char houses in Chicago can be sticky. Not here.. not yet anyway. Wood looking floor tiles against faux wood lined walls. The air inside was cool and clean and I could hear an exhaust running somewhere. I call it a snack shop because they offer common lunch options and are built with a small size like Chicago snack shops and cozy diners. There's a space in front of their business which could have picnic tables but is instead used as a common park lot. Maybe two or three cars can fit. The interior offers a few high top tables with comfy chairs. Mostly tables for two. Tim Tim's menu is composed of customized burgers and sandwiches. Their menu boasts a number of tasty add-ons. Toppings like avocado, chili, an egg, onion rings and more! I like that their burger options also include other, more than one chicken option and the new kid on the block, the impossible burger. It seems they like creating "fresh" items too. Hand cut fries and onion rings! They offer a version of "burek" rolls I am unfamiliar with. Rather than one large pinwheel it is made into separate egg rolls and served alongside fries, cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions. Tim Tim's is the thrifty worker's meal option. Many of their sandwiches are affordable when purchased solo: L A burger $4.59, cod fish $5.25, or an Italian beef for $6.25 "Combo" their sandwiches into a meal for a $2 dollar upcharge. Which includes fries and a drink.(Gosh do I hate the use of styrofoam) There are a few sandwiches that carry an increased cost upwards towards $8-$10 dollars. The above aside, how was it? Decent/passable on the fly. I got a basket of sandwiches, a house salad, some fries and onion rings recently. I requested an Italian beef sandwich with extra "dip." The bread was mostly dry as was the meat and they didn't include any au jus dip. The meat was also flavorless. (I fixed this at home by adding my own au jus. For $6 bucks, that's utterly lame.) The chicken sandwiches ordered were good because of the condiments and toppings. Though I doubt they used a full breast for each. Not that I remember them mentioning using a full breast. It would seem the chicken breasts were sliced down down the center (which makes two portions) and then overcooked. One was dry and the other near dry. The fries and the onion rings were stellar. Made fresh and large in quantity. Solid 3.5 stars, with room for improvement. They were given a great place to create foods. Since their restaurant space is small, they probably never feel rushed. Still, given their surrounds they should be able to create properly formed meals. They have great ingredients, if only they took better care of the proteins, the sandwiches would be as good as everything else. read more

They were super busy when we came in and we had a little bit of a wait. Even though we waited a little bit (not their fault) since it was packed the food made up for it! Was going to my usual spot at Susie's but they were closed and seem to be having some sort of trouble there. So I decided to try out the new burger spot right on the other corner. Boy was I glad I came here! The place has a few tables and looks like they remodeled the place. They have a pretty good selection of food that really sounded good. I tried the TimTim burger which was a double cheeseburger with bacon, fried egg, bbq sauce and an onion ring. It was really good and juicy with a good bun as well. The fries were really good as well. A very friendly staff and they even bring the food to your table. They have a very small parking lot but there is free street parking as well. We've been ordering from here forever. Even though burgers are never made rare or medium rare as requested, the other ingredients and price always make up for it. They don't skim on sauces, or tomatoes and bacon. The buns are soft and delicious. I usually order for 6 people and they get the order right, no missing items or ingredients.
